To achieve success in network marketing today  a system has to have 5 basic steps:

  1. Targeted lead generation
  2. Automated prospect follow-up
  3. One-on-one relationship building
  4. Sponsoring and
  5. Training

Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

If these points are not taken care of by the group you are working with or your upline, you have to set them up yourself. But of course it’s a lot easier to work with people who understand these MLM sponsoring secrets and already have a tested system in place.

I am happy to say that I use a system that has all of this in place, so I can specify on the individual points.

1. Targeted lead generation.

You will agree that people who want to go into network marketing are driven by a dream, a vision of where they want to be in life. Since it seems to be beyond anyone’s reach “to make somebody dream” you need to talk to people who already have a dreams, a vision and are striving for success.

It wont be those who are happy to put their feet up and watch TV, crunch pop corn and discuss sports and politics. Leave them there, they are also part of this world.

Talk to people who have their dreams and visions in place. They will build their network marketing business business as they want to change their lives. Target those people. You will love working with them as they are coachable and focused. Working with those targeted people will create massive duplication and your business will grow.

How do you find them?

You need a lead generation system which is designed to bring in qualified people. Readers are far more likely to have long-term success in network marketing.  After all they need to be willing to learn! How would they do it otherwise?

You get there if you promote a website that is designed to capture contact information. Do your best to make your visitors an offer they cannot refuse. As leaders are readers. I offer a free e-book – if they want it they need to leave their details.

Why Commitment?

No matter where we are or what we do in life we are bound to be meeting up with some obstacles.

The topic which needs to be ventilated is the relationship between a vision and commitment.

A vision in life is the driving force in life. It can be strong and compelling and it can be vague.

Most people start working towards their vision at some stage in their lives, however only those who make a full commitment to go for it will eventually achieve their dreams.

Let me give you an example. Bill has a normal job. He is ok with his work and he and his family can pay their bills. As far as extras are concerned, like having a nice holiday somewhere, a better school for their children they have to compromise. Their decision in a way was conditioned by the programming they had received  from home. The make themselves subconsciously believe that all is well and they are content – and it is ok.

But there is Bills friend, Josh. He has a similar background as Bill, but somehow all his life he had a vision. A vision of freedom, spending time with his family, following his favourite hobby and making nice trips to get to know the world. He  also works  and gets bye with his family, but he is at the same time looking round as to finding a “vehicle” which would permit him to achieve his dream.

And this is it – Josh is the kind of person who will be an ideal prospect for a network marketing business. He will be ready to learn and do all he is taught and he will be in it with commitment. This commitment to success will help him over hard times  when people will criticize him or make fun of him for what he is doing. He won’t mind, he will have his vision before him and his commitment to reach his dreams.

What is your present situation? Are you having the success you have always dreamed of? NO? Well very likely it is not your fault.

What are you being taught by your upline or even the company – does it sound like:

  • make a list of family and friends
  • go back in your life to make the list bigger and add
  • class mates,
  • fellow workers
  • the postman, the milkman and the neighbor’s cat….

If your training looks roughly like that I suggest RUN! This is network marketing as it was done 25 years back or longer, way before the internet.

In Modern MLM there is no need to do any of this. Keep your family and friends. It can’t be fun to see them avoid you only because you have confronted them with your business “umpteen” times.

There is no doubt – not everybody will do everything. That’s good. After all we do need teachers, nurses, bus drivers, lawyers, to name only a few – if they all would be network marketers where would our society be?

The solution is to look out for people who have already expressed an interest in network marketing. See that you connect with them, that you build a relationship, best by learning together how to succeed in a dedicated mastermind group.

Learning in a team builds relationships and some of the people you met and bonded with will be happy to join you also in your business and for the others be happy that the work you did together let them succeed in what they are already doing.

You will say that this sounds easy – well it is in a way, but  you need to learn the skill required to act respectfully on the internet so that you will connect with the people you want. And of course  communication skills and personal development will play a part in the process.

Network Marketing as life is a trip. Very much the same way as you climb a mountain where you get higher up with every single step you take, the steps you take in this business will get you on. And as in the mountains you will run in to level spaces where you take steps but you don’t rise up – in the business these are periods of personal growth. Once you have developed to the next level also your business will get moving again.

Wouldn’t it be great to be going out with your friends and when everybody is talking about their problems you’d find you could simply say positive things? You can let this happen right now. All it takes is to decide that you will stop telling “white lies” or half truths. This makes it uncomplicated for yourself to be open, emphatic and friendly. No need to resort to gruff ways any more. You will suddenly find it easy to speak up – let’s test this:

• Can you speak about your feelings in an easy way?
• Can you discuss with your partner what bothers you in your relationship?
• Can you simply listen to what your partner/business partner tells you?

Listen intently, in a loving way so that you get  the message of what is being said. This is the basis for any changes that might be required.

Becoming a better listener will give excellent results in any relationship – private as well as business. Especially when it comes to MLM listening becomes excessively important!

It seems to be the disorganised speed of life that caused the art of listening to become less and less important for too many people. Make it a priority to begin working on your listening skills at once. Be present in any conversation and don’t let yourself be distracted by the kids, the TV, your work or what so ever. If you are busy make sure the conversation can be re-scheduled to a more appropriate time.

The goal is to communicate your desires, wishes, goals, offers and to hear and absorb the message your partner/business partner is  conveying. You must be able to focus on the message. Listening is a very important factor when it comes to communication, but it is equally important to express also your thoughts.

People who are able to open up and communicate their thoughts, hopes and dreams are a lot opener. Females may be having a bit of an advantage when it comes to communication, whereas men may need to work on it a bit more and develop an awareness that will enable them to express themselves easier. Small talk and the right questions will be supportive in building a fruitful conversation. Adding the skills that facilitate transition to the right topics will be an extra benefit.

As somebody who is roaming the internet on a quest of building a home business you for sure have seen plenty of programs for network marketers which promise you plenty of leads on auto-pilot – 20 per day and more.

Now help me think – and I am not going to debate if this is possible or not – let’s simply  assume it is possible – after all it is being propagated by so many.

You get your first 20 leads. To call them to start a relationship will take you a few minutes per person – let’s say only about 5 minutes – this, together with the notes you will have to make will take you roughly 2 hours. You will say – that’s easy. Now the next day you have another 20 leads, again about 2 hours work, the 3rd day and the remaining days of the week too – in all 14 hours a week. Wow you were good you actually pulled it through to spend 2 hours per day on your business. You are proud of yourself -  you have found the magic wand in network marketing!

However – see the second week – you have some follow up activities for about 140 people. It needs to be done as you are aware “one contact is no contact” – if you take it at steps it will mean about an hour a day for the various follow up activities, but now there are the next 20 leads per day too and altogether you end up with 3 hours per day. Wow this is starting to become real work – 21 hours a week.

Consider the third week – you have 280 people for the follow up activities half for the first round, half for the second round and you are good, you can do this in a couple of hours and of course the 2 hours for the new leads………..I hope you get me! You in fact start wondering how this can be duplicable in a profession where the major percentage of people are having their main job on top of it and of course lots of them have family ties and obligations too. Hm – and yet you keep telling them “you’ll be getting 20 leads per day on auto-pilot” – but strangely enough you are not relaxed any more when you propagate this…….

When you have to call so many people you automatically  have an agenda – your agenda will be time and your capacity to remember, don’t forget: notes don’t do all – your prospects become more and more aware that you are not actually listening to them but doing a kind of routine job – they sense that you are stressed out and in a hurry when all they want is being heard – heard for whatever they might need in their business. The feeling that they are kind of treated as numbers is cropping in and …

after a few more weeks time very likely you will wake up because you see that in spite of all the well organised and massive work you are doing for your MLM business people don’t stay on, don’t connect with you, but instead move on to find someone with whom they will be “a person with a problem” who is seeking a coach and mentor who will listen to them without an agenda and help them to overcome their difficulties, to develop the skills they need, to grow as a person as, to achieve more you have to become more.

This personal growth factor does not only apply to your new people and business relationships, but it applies very much so also to yourself. When you work with people in a heart felt and respectful way you grow yourself and after a while you will be an awesome leader – loved and respected not only by the own group but by everyone  around you.
