It is an open secret by now: Network Marketing today is a relationship business and not a sales business!image

I hear the outcry of sales people and the red  personalities who still believe that network marketing is a sales business.

They claim: that after all products need to be moved and as a result they focus on moving the product.

Yes, true, products need to be moved, but in a very different way.

First:

Even in the normal market lots of products are being moved by recommendation. Everybody will tell friends and family if they have had a good deal on something – no matte if it was a film, a pair of shoes or a lovely meal or whatever.

‘This makes a lot of product turn over in the normal market a “relationship business” – people sharing what they like.

Second:

In this fast and impersonal world people are increasingly craving for relationships. It is an uneasy feeling to have to do things alone all the time. It makes you feel good to have someone to reflect, to have confirm what you are wondering, etc.

Therefore as a customer it is nice to have someone to talk to about a product you might want to buy. Some one where you have the feeling that they know what they are talking about and who perhaps makes you feel special because you chose what you did.

Third:

When you are lo9oking fro a business you all the more want to fee l safe and wanted, to have somebody beside you who will take your hand and support and help you in the alien territory of entrepreneurship,somebody who wants YOU because of who YOU are!

So no matter what – product or business – relationships count.

And in network marketing today relationships count all the more.

It is a business of:

  • people joining people, 
  • training and supporting people,
  • giving them incentive for personal development and growth.

When you are building a business in network marketing today, your main focus needs to be your personal development.

You need to become the person people would want to be in business with.

This does not mean that you cannot be yourself? Certainly not– in fact you have to be yourself! But we all have strengths and weaknesses and we need to develop our strengths even further and we can learn to handle our weaknesses in the best possible way.

Happiness in Network Marketing – Hm

When we are building a business we are spending a lot of time on it.

Either we are still in a 9 – 5 job and build the business in our free time, which is a challenge in itself, as it takes excellent time management and dedication to do what is required, or we are doing it full time. Doing network marketing full time it is all the more important that you are happy with what you are doing.

Even without speaking a single work your basic attitude is transmitted to the people you speak to. They will pick up  your mindset. Happy people have something special around them and as a rule they attract people like magnets. Everyone wants to brush off such a mindset and feel a bit of that happiness.

  • Considering these basics it is not a big surprise that building a network marketing business today will be a lot easier when you are happy with what you are doing.
  • The law of attraction will kick in and  your team will be reflecting your mindset.

“The Secret” Success Story

As early as 1937 Napoleon Hill wrote his “Think and Grow Rich”. It contains everything you need for creating success in life and business.

The title link leads you to the Napoleon Hill Foundation.

This topic was laid down even before then and many times afterwards, the most famous right now being “The Secret” which has become a world wide best seller.

So why is it with all that evidence of knowledge laid down in writing that there are still so many struggling to achieve success?

To be able to accept information laid down in books you need to take a close look at yourself. Everyone has received a basic programming when growing up. Most of it happened without conscious application of knowledge but just as a matter of habit, culture and environment.

We consider our basic programming “normal” and very often look at others who received a different kind of programming as “not normal”. It very likely is this fact that makes it so hard to start a process of “re-programming” in order to eventually change our lives. The basis is that we finally reach the conclusion that the programming we received does not serve us, that is stops us from where we want to go.

It is in the industry of network marketing today that these facts show up drastically.

Anyone who had success in a normal job and is starting a network marketing business has a hard time accepting that the same amount of dedicated work as was done in the job gives no to low results in building a network marketing business.

Many simply “run” and conclude that this industry simple is nothing for them. However, this is not true. It is in MLM where the “Law of Attraction” comes in fully. You achieve that which is in tune with your mindset. If you are not money minded, for instance, money will elude you. There is this observation that it is those who win who already have a lot – of course – it is law of attraction: like meets like!

To achieve long-term success in network marketing today personal development is a MUST. In order to achieve more you have to become more.

Personal development may be a lot easier if you join a mastermind group of like minded people and follow the process.

In the one I love we study Think and Grow Rich on a weekly basis. If you decide to join in and do your scheduled contributions and exercises week after week you will be surprised how much you grow in a comparatively short time. It helps  you with re-programming your mind, getting rid of outdated thought patterns which no longer serve you and integrate thoughts which will attract success – in private life as well as in business.

Doing this on a regular basis together with the training you receive in mentoring for free you will be heading for outstanding success and even be able to leave a legacy for your family.

“Insane Productivity”

It appears to be insane to use this expression for extremely high productivity – a real joke!

It is obvious that  to achieve high success in network marketing today you are looking out for strategies that let you explode your productivity.

You will say at once that it is leverage that creates this productivity in a network marketing business. This is true, but you need to get there in the first place.

Leverage is the result of effort accumulated over time. A new network marketing business doesn’t start with success on day one, nor does any other business in fact. You need to do all the diligent homework you do in any other business and then  get it going through persistence, personal development and nurturing team work.

In this process there are a number of things which may help you on the way:

  • Be peaceful within. High productivity needs work, no doubt, but you also need peace of mind and a relaxed approach. Love what you are doing and be focused. When you love what you are doing you will be able to see things in a positive light so that everything will flow freely.
  • Take action. There is no productivity without action! It is not enough to plan to climb the Mt.Everest – you need to go there and actually do it!.
  • Get organized. You need to have a clean workplace. Don’t push  things off and work without delays. There are some people who have the strange idea that anyone who is tidy is only too lazy to put in a good search – I think investing that search time into work will get you a lot further.
  • Be proactive. Let your creativity kick in – it may even help you to get things done a lot quicker than anticipated.
  • Do what you love or love what you do. In any work schedule there will be things you really like and others which you don’t really like that much – do them with a good mood nevertheless it will minimize procrastination. With practice you may get over this dislike.  Let work be your passion and it will be easy.
  • Communicate with nature. We are part of nature and cannot be detached from it. Food, water air and all around us are part of nature. Blending with nature will set your mind at rest and the better you manage it on all levels the healthier you are likely to be – this again increases your  productivity. Your success in your network marketing business will  benefit greatly – especially if your products are in tune with a natural aspect – like healthy food, or whatever.

Implementing these thoughts into your life-style and business building activities you will be an excellent role model for your network marketing team and you will attract awesome people as business partners.

The result will be incredible leverage and a rate of success in your network marketing business you can now only dream of

There is one other aspect which is vital to your success in building a network marketing business – it is Your WHY!

You Why in a way is like the address in a GPS in the car. Start it without an address input and it will give you a failure or not perform – the same happens:

if we don’t create a Why for our life. This creates a situation where we are like floating matter in a river – we drift along where ever life takes us – no steering, no focus!

How To Build Self-confidence Part 1

Build Confidence in Yourself

This inner knowledge that you can do it, that you will achieve and that you are capable as you are.

We all have it when we are born – however the imprint we receive from our environment makes it disappear. It is not lost, but it is buried so to speak.

As long as you are leading an average life you are not conscious of this loss as a rule. You have adapted over time, except for the small percentage of revolutionaries who do not conform and who haven’t lost this inner knowledge of who they are.

As soon as you change your environment and start into independence professionally, this lack becomes obvious quickly. You wonder what is going on and why you do not perform and achieve as you have laid it out. Especially in network marketing today, where success is closely entwined with people and building relationships, it becomes quickly apparent that you are blocked for some intangible reason.

The balance is found in uncovering your inherent self-confidence. Uncovering the person who you really are. The person who attracts easily those  people who will be the right ones to achieve success through team work and mutual support.

Here are a couple of hints that may help you in this quest of finding yourself:

  • Educate yourself on personal development. Knowing what it is all about will help you immediately. Mind you it will take practice, but the topic will gain shape in your mind.
  • Activate your mind and body link. There is this old saying that a healthy minds lives easier in a healthy body -  one factor of it is  your posture. Keep yourself upright, straight! You will notice that your mind will appreciate it and you will feel a lot better.

There are many more factors which come into play. In part 2 I’ll give you some hints that might help you in your business environment on a more practical level.

In Network Marketing Today it is an open secret that to achieve more you have to become more.

Of course every single person who is building a network marketing business has an idea about which kind of business partners they really want: They sure want the persistent and clever person who is making contacts easy and who will get many partners and customers in very quickly.

So if we know what we want, why does it mostly take time to actually achieve it?

We all keep talking about the law of attraction, of personal development, of learning the right skills, etc

However there is one key question you will have to ask yourself in this context:

Would I Like to Be in Business With Myself?

  • Yes, this is correct and the question is not easy to deal with. You need to take a hard look at yourself, not through any soft-focus lense,  but straight and true. Look yourself in the mirror and look into your eyes and ask yourself that question: Would I like to be in business with myself.
  • Consider it point for point – why should people want to be in business with you? Make note of your strengths and weaknesses – not so much professionally, but as the person who you are. It it tough? Yes, may be it is, but it is a very good way to assess what is happening around you.
  • After you have found out who you are and  who you want to be, start working on yourself. It is a personal decision you need to take and it will be very much worth while. As a result the world around you will change.

It is a fact in the industry of network marketing, that people do not join your opportunity – people join you! They join you because they want to be around you, they join you because you are a role model for them, they join you because they like and perhaps admire you and many for other reasons.

This reflects, why building relationships is the basis for success in network marketing today. Of course we make the best of efforts and get informed as to which business we want to build, but who knows even having done the best of diligence a company may go bust for which ever reasons.

Provided you have built your team according to optimal criteria of human interaction: love and mutual understanding and trust, you will have built it for good. Your  team members, who actually joined YOU will happily brainstorm with you where to go next should such an adversity happen.

Building yourself, building the best relationships you can with the people who you really relate with, is the best long-term security you can have for yourself and your team.

Are you feeling your success is as far away as the stars – you can barely see it with a telescope?

Let’s sum up a few points which you will find in more detail in some other posts on my blog.

It is a very frequent situation that  people are having a hard time helping themselves, even though they might be good at giving advice to others.

What does this imply – if you belong to that category you are constantly having your focus on others and not on what matters to you. You don’t give yourself credit by looking at yourself and actually asking yourself:

“what do I want from life” “where do I want to go” “what are my dreams and my goals”?

It might be an idea that you sit down and delve deep down to yourself to find out if you have an issue of self worth – that perhaps you feel you don’t deserve abundance in life! If there is a likelihood that you are suffering of lack of self worth you can work as hard as you please you will never really make it or if you do you will not be content as you will still believe that you are “not there yet”. You may end up a “driven” personality, who is constantly searching and running!

Let this be your first and foremost quest: Am I giving myself credit and do I have self worth, a feeling that I deserve all the good there can be in my life?

You may want support with this issues. It happens very often that we have become masters at hiding such issues from ourselves. There is this Forum where you can go and simply read and study what others have to say in this context, or you can  register and participate. It may change your view of yourself and propel you on the road of personal growth and allowing abundance in your life.

Duplication – the magic word in network marketing today.

What is duplication – it is copying what others do successfully.

Duplication has to be simple, however, the steps that are repeated have to be valid and they have to work.

Not everybody who starts building a network marketing business is capable of speaking with other people as a matter of routine. For many this part of the business is pure stress. Mind you eventually everyone learns it, but this is part of the personal development that happens when you do this business on a constant basis.

Let’s look at duplication – what are the questions a prospect may ask:

  1. Can I do this?
  2. Can I make money doing this?
  3. Can you help me?

To  have a positive reply to the first point the system that is used has to be simple. Your prospect needs to realise that he will be able to do it very well.

I use the book “Success in 10 Steps” by Michael Dlouhy – I let people read it. Most people can imagine themselves doing this – giving somebody a book to read.

Reading the book and  going through the following steps of the training people learn what to look for in a company so that they will be making money.

Once prospects have gone through the basics of this system they have no doubt that they are getting valid help.

If you can offer People such a simple system, network marketing suddenly becomes attractive. Struggles they had before appear in the right light. People realise that their lack of success was not their fault, but that they simply lacked training and a system to follow. Once they have both success in network marketing is attainable.

A System for Success!

Pillar 5

A Proven System that will Work for YOU.

Network Marketing today requires a lot of work. Therefore it is a MUST  that the team you join has a system that will work for everyone. People come from so many different walks of life!

The system needs to provide training, books, videos, audios and needs to teach the system, as there are constantly new people who need to get to know it and who need to be able to use it. The more people you sponsor into your team the less you’ll be able to train them only one on one.

You need to be able to learn the required skills for building your business from the system and you need to take responsibility for it. Nobody can learn it but YOU.

In a good system you will be able to connect with all the leaders for upline advice. It make take a while till you  can operate the system successfully – nobody can read by only learning the alphabet.  
As with everything in line you need to take the learning curve and be patient and persistent.  

A good system should also have a focus on personal development.  Network marketing today is a relationship business and for building a network marketing business successfully you need to become the person who you customers and prospects want to follow as a leader.

The more aware you are of yourself as a person the better you will be able to relate with people. You will be able to meet people where they are in their lives and help them on.

 

A system should not request you to:

  • MAKE A LIST OF YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
  • BUY LEADS. 
    (Purchased leads require salesmanship. These methods do not work anymore. 
    90% of the population don’t like being in sales and most people don’t even like being sold!)

Summing up there is to be said, that checking a MLM company according to the 5 pillars makes absolute sense and it will spare you a lot of trouble, It puts you in a place where you can definitely say you will be able to have success in network marketing today and that is what most people actually want.

Don’t Give Away Your Power – Be Yourself!

Another big mistake people make in network marketing and especially online – they follow a Guru.

It doesn’t meet the idea of network marketing. This business is all about YOU and the people YOU help and support. Like this tree at the side you need to be anchored with solid roots/convictions/trust/faith and  nothing and nobody will be able to shake you.

Misunderstood attraction marketing is fatal. The moment you give away your power the moment you are not attractive to people who you would want to be in business with or even sharing a 3 month’s cruise somewhere nice.

To harp again on the topic of personal development, be yourself – work on yourself and become the person you want to be, the person who is a leader who helps others succeed. Connect personally with the people who you attract, ask them how you can help them in building their business. The more you help the more success you will be having.

This is the key to having success in network marketing today.

The internet is just a tool, a “catalyst” that helps us meeting the right people.

Network Marketing Today

For some strange reason the necessity of skills for success in network marketing has not become established yet.

In any other job, profession, trade it is considered normal that solid training is required. Nobody would dream of becoming a lock smith without learning it, or a teacher with out going to college, or a doctor without studying medicine, or a lawyer or anything else. Most of them have to go through additional training once they have finished the basic course.

So why on earth would anyone “think” they could do network marketing anyways?

Yea – I know – most people are aware of the fact that they are giving recommendations from the time onwards when they can speak – but that’s only part of it.

Very much like a person who has a high musical talent still has to practise playing the piano or in fact any other instrument to become really proficient, a person who wants to go into network marketing and do more than just “dabble around” needs to go through some solid training to really make it in network marketing today. It’s always been that way but today with so much internet technology being part of business activities apart from the person to person skills of communication and more, acquiring skills has become an absolute MUST:

Skills: personal development of self and helping others with it, knowing how to choose a business, lead generation (handling internet sites, social networks, blogging, advertising and a lot more), connecting with the leads in a way that a good percentage become business partners, …. the list is ongoing.

 Attention!

Not all training on the internet meets the required standards – so watch out, choose well, don’t let yourself be ripped off!

Planning? Of course! Network marketing is a business as any other!

In the last few posts we have talked a bit about the importance of personal development so let’s skip that now.

What is the most important asset in a network marketing business? It’s your prospects. So how about “planning” your prospects. No this is not a joke.

Part of your planning has to be, to determine what sort of prospect you want to attract. The more detail you give this thought the better.

There are those who simply say – I want my prospects to be like me or like… – that’s easy if you have references like that.

However seeing it long-term, as network marketing is a long-term business and should be designed to pay not only you but also your children and even your grand children, a blending of a number of different qualities might prove a definite bonus for team building.

In network marketing today, where knowledge about the personality colours is not a secret, we are very much aware that people who match different colours, have different strengths and weaknesses.

Let’s give network marketing an overview:

you need those who are good at sponsoring, others who are good at training the team and giving support, but you also need products to be turned and you need to have those who know precisely how a commission plan is used best to maximize profits. And of course you don’t want the business to be totally boring but fun, with new people being attracted all the time as things are “on the move”.

You see – when you really give “planning your prospects” a closer thought there is work to be done in the workshop of your mind, the center of your imagination where your thoughts eventually are blended with passion so that they can materialise!

Remember the days when network marketing started – 60+ years back!

In those days there were no mobile phones and land lines were comparatively expensive. Anything like the internet was not even imaginable. Consequently the idea of building a network marketing business had to be accomplished applying totally different methods than are used in network marketing today.

 

Historic Methods of Building a Network Marketing Business:

Seeing the circumstances which prevailed it was not surprising to teach things like:

  • Make a list of family and friends
  • Come to a meeting every week
  • Do presentations of the business at home
  • Take prospects to big presentations in some public place
  • Request people to give you recommendations
  • Teach everyone to do the same over

In a way it was a system as it could be taught and copied by newcomers. The hard thing about it was that personal development was non existent then and it was mainly sales people who started up in this new business venture. As a sales person as a rule works by ticking off numbers and increases the numbers to improve results this way to build the business was hard to be coped by others who didn’t belong to the few percent of people who love selling.

The rate of rejection was high and as many people in a desperate desire to make this business work for them got really “sticky” their environment even started  evading them. Of course the reputation of this new born business of network marketing suffered immensely – not only for the stickiness of those who were involved, but also because of the incredible rates of failure.

In network marketing today we still feel some of this impact of the reputation which was created over years – today’s young adults had been watching their parents struggle and fail and others in their immediate environment.

As a result  there is still a high degree of skepticism prevailing – and of course – things which used to be state-of-the-art over many years die hard. So we still find lots of groups today, even companies and organisations, who keep teaching the same old rut over and over again although times have changed.

Not only do we have mobile phones, we also have the internet and all that comes along with it. methods that actually work are a lot different from those of those early days.

Naturally having success in network marketing today means that you have to have adequate training – first of all on going personal development, plus learning of skill which are needed to move along in today’s environment. Develop the wisdom to differentiate and choose what will serve you instead of what will rip you off!

Unlock Your Intuition By Being Positive

Being positive is one of the most propagated things in network marketing today. It was integrated as part of a relaxed life-style to start with  and  of course it is years now that the law of attraction is open knowledge.

Being positive and fear are antagonists – they cannot exist in the same place. Why? let me give you a picture – it is the same that you cannot walk up and down a hill at the same time – you have to decide: do I want to go  up or do I want to go down – otherwise you stay  in the same spot. Mind you there are plenty of people around who kind of “run in the mouse wheel” – they run and run and get tired, even exhausted for all the running they do, yet they stay in the same spot not even realising.

Fear is a state of mind which closes you down. In a situation where fear is present intuition cannot kick in. You are paralysed so to speak. So how can anyone make proper decisions in life or even in business in such a state. I someone  who is in fear decides to do a network marketing business he is likely to listen to all those alluring offers of people who sell leads or practice other rip offs in disguise.

To be able to have success in network marketing and elsewhere you have to have a clear head, be positive and open for what life has in store for you. Ongoing personal development work, best within a like-minded mastermind group will put you into this place. In this process, once the fear is gone, gut feeling – intuition will kick in. At first you perhaps may not be consciously aware of it but if you are willing to move forward it won’t take long and you will cherish these feelings as valuable input. In fact it is our link to infinite intelligence!

Be positive! It unlocks your intuition. Start listening to it and learn the required skills in this positive mind set. Even learning the skills will give different results, as you see them from a different perspective. This is the power package which will put you on your road to success in network marketing today.

You may wonder why I connect network marketing and gut feeling. The reply is very simple. Network marketing is a peoples business and especially when you work with people your gut feeling is indispensible.

This does not only  apply for “sensing” who you want to connect with and who not. It is also important, and that is the first priority, to determine who you are.

Working on your self worth and intuition or gut feeling are connected and interactive. You may wonder where your intuition is coming from – does it come from inside or from outside of you? Do you connect with it at all? For some gut feeling belongs in the realm of superstition but more and more people realise that listening to the gut feeling can be very helpful, even sharp.

Napoleon Hills says again and again that intuition, gut feeling is one way how infinite intelligence connects and gives us input. Considering gut feeling from that angle it is the highest wisdom we can follow.

In the old days gut feeling was normal. Our ancestors relied on their intuition and way back reading subtle energy patterns was part of survival strategies. They were connected to animals and nature – only look at the many stories you will be able to find where the weather, for instance, is connected to animal behaviour, such as: “the ants go deep down into the ground – there will be a hard winter” and many others. 

In order to become really successful in network marketing start working more with your intuition, your gut feeling. Become who you really are. The magnetism you will be creating within yourself will attract whatever you need. Let it help you for creating your mastermind, bring people to you who are just designed as life long business partners and lots more.  Be relaxed when your gut tells you to “do something different”!  The law of attraction works.

To sum up – work on your personal development, trust your gut, your intuition, connect with your mastermind group, work with people on your heart level, which is the centre of your “magnetism”. Courtesy Opens Minds And Hearts

It may sound old fashioned to some, but courtesy is still in, especially when it comes to building relationships with people or even  friendships. It is simply much easier to come in touch with someone if your approach is courteous.

There is much being said and being written as to how to build a network marketing business the right way and in fact “relationships” is coming up more so the  hints are getting “hotter”.

However, there is no investment you’ll ever make that will pay you so well as the effort to scatter sunshine and good vibes where ever you are, simply by starting out in a courteous way.

It is embedded in human nature to be not alone, to meet up with like minded people – in fact there is this craving to be appreciated.
If you treat someone like the person they might be, they very likely may become like that very person.  It is like they start seeing themselves with your eyes – “uplifted” so to speak.

As my appreciated mentor, Michael Dlouhy, keeps saying “we believe in you until you believe in yourself”. In a way being courteous is “paying it forward” and the results speak for themselves.

Everyone thrives on being appreciated, loved and needed. Growth, personal development, opening of consciousness very often starts with knowing that others believe in you.  What a way to do business too!

Applaud others when they run.
Console them when they fail.
And cheer them when they recover.

As water is to a flower, so is praise to the heart of another.

Achievement, Hard Work or Luck?

Achievement has been the topic of great many discussions. The question is it hard work or is it luck is a prominent one. The big conductor, Herbert von Karajan, said in one of his last interviews that a genius is made of 10% of talent and 90 % of hard work and persistence and I feel this ration pretty much applies to other achievements as well. Whenever this topic is being discussed with successful people they tell you that it was hard work. Some people seem to be having lots of luck, but the luck we see is the result, we don’t see what got them there. This applies to all areas of life and in particular if you are building a network marketing business.

For long term achievement in MLM you can’t beat hard work! In fact luck may be considered hard work too. To achieve it, it again takes hard work. You need to work on your attitude on your personal development, your professional background and education and a lot more and the resulting attraction will provide you with sustainability and growth. Needed not only in business but in any aspect of life.

It is hard work to achieve a goal and it has a lot to do with commitment and persistence. If you are “all in”, committed 100%, and you are truly dedicating yourself to your goal passionately, you are on the right track. However, if you have doubts or are not sure about your path and the directions to go, life might get a bit bumpy for you, lots of work feeling like hard labor.

Persistence and being able to face mistakes, even learning from them, as well as being able to handle rejection, and criticism will take you far. No matter how many people tell you “you can’t do it”, or “it will never work”; you carry on irrespective and move to the next steps.

Always consider and evaluate the lessons you have learned – there is no sense in making the same mistake over and over again!.

Working hard for a goal gives a lot of satisfaction and will keep a smile on your face, which again is a way to multiply your efforts.

All of a sudden luck will show up and things will fall into place: Be grateful and know “You Are There” – on the right path!

What is your present situation? Are you having the success you have always dreamed of? NO? Well very likely it is not your fault.

What are you being taught by your upline or even the company – does it sound like:

  • make a list of family and friends
  • go back in your life to make the list bigger and add
  • class mates,
  • fellow workers
  • the postman, the milkman and the neighbor’s cat….

If your training looks roughly like that I suggest RUN! This is network marketing as it was done 25 years back or longer, way before the internet.

In Modern MLM there is no need to do any of this. Keep your family and friends. It can’t be fun to see them avoid you only because you have confronted them with your business “umpteen” times.

There is no doubt – not everybody will do everything. That’s good. After all we do need teachers, nurses, bus drivers, lawyers, to name only a few – if they all would be network marketers where would our society be?

The solution is to look out for people who have already expressed an interest in network marketing. See that you connect with them, that you build a relationship, best by learning together how to succeed in a dedicated mastermind group.

Learning in a team builds relationships and some of the people you met and bonded with will be happy to join you also in your business and for the others be happy that the work you did together let them succeed in what they are already doing.

You will say that this sounds easy – well it is in a way, but  you need to learn the skill required to act respectfully on the internet so that you will connect with the people you want. And of course  communication skills and personal development will play a part in the process.

Network Marketing as life is a trip. Very much the same way as you climb a mountain where you get higher up with every single step you take, the steps you take in this business will get you on. And as in the mountains you will run in to level spaces where you take steps but you don’t rise up – in the business these are periods of personal growth. Once you have developed to the next level also your business will get moving again.

Back in the 1980-ties when MLM first came to Austria I was immediately attracted. Of course nobody knew a thing about it and within no time the media were full of reports about „the new pyramid system“ that was intruding into the market.

Being a rational person I could easily make out that this business was no pyramid but a very clever mathematical commission concept designed to let the man in the street have a chance at creating an independent income.

I had joined a team who provided weekly meet-ups – mind you the internet had not yet surfaced for everyday use – so weekly meet-ups were good by way of training. It was there that I heard for the first time things like „you have to write down your why“ . It was a very unusual thought for me and I didn’t really know`what to think of it. However I observed people who did it and who actually wrote their „why“ down. Pretty soon they appeared on stage as people who had grown business wise and as a person and I was astonished to say the least.

I had no inclination to think about my why, as the reason for it seemed to be rather „phoney“ to me. I tried to learn how to deal with the products, how to give an excellent presentation and did a lot of work in that respect – I had turnover, but my business didn’t grow. I simply couldn’t understand it as I had done good work on all levels. There were these thoughts of feeling inferior for not having success and more. My sponsor kept on at me about my why and eventually I got so frustrated that I stopped going to meetings and did my turnover and no more. I knew something was missing in my approach but I still couldn’t connect it with my „why“.

Years later when I connected with another business and another group it suddenly hit me – my „why“, I realised, that was the missing link. I wrote down my why, did personal development work very much in line with what nowadays is covered by „the law of attraction“ and… I started on my success curve!

There is no need to get this aha moment the long way as I did – write down your why and if you need to be coached so that you actually manage to do so request help. There is no doubt that writing down your „why“ is a central point for success in network marketing – so even if it sounds as „phoney“ to you as it did to me in those days – jump through the hoop and do it!

Common goals  in people today are ideas like: Fire your boss, start your own business, become an entrepreneur running a home business, having success in business, to name only a few.

In fact it is the internet which enables entrepreneurship at an entirely different level. Internet marketing is the big growth area. However, as in any other more conventional business you have to set it up professionally to take your inspiration on the path of success. You need a business plan which you ought to discuss with an expert on the topic as a consultant to make sure your basics are sound. Of course you also need a certain amount of cash flow as you need to take care of having the right software to do your work. Super efficient back offices are available on the net for very reasonable money so there is no need that you re-invent the wheel As a rule investing (time rather than money) is mainly required in the area of personal education. You need to get to know all the possible resources and free training you can find on the internet, knowledge of technology which is required to eventually get going. But also specific skills are a necessity.

What is your first goal? Help yourself by accepting help. MLM as any other profession requires specialised knowledge as well as personal development to make it grow. You need to learn about building relationships with people, about the law of attraction and  that most people today do not want to be “sold”. The motivation for this effort is rooted in your personal goal – the reason why you stepped on this path of wanting a small business of your own! After a while most people will realise that MLM in fact need not stay in the range of a small business – with the right mentoring, which lets you develop your leadership skills and your capacity for management you will be surprised about the growth you may experience.

This growth is also directly related to the coaching you hand on to the people you work with not only yourself but in the entire leadership team. You and the team with whom you work provide a business service which will “breed” growth and personal development for all who participate – provided what you do and the system you use can be duplicated by everyone who joins in. Learning of the basics should put you in a position of being able to judge if this duplication actually works – if not – search until you find a background where it does work. This is the most important details when it comes to choosing a network marketing business.

MLM is not about sales, it is not about recruiting – it is about developing people so that they will be able to do what you do. This is the secret to success in this industry.

Success In Life As In Network Marketing

Today I would like to share with you a thought which struck me in an interview with Tony Robbins. It is a closed circle of parameters which have to be in place for success.

Success Formula:

We all have a potential.

Yet unless our potential is backed by belief and we take action next, results are not likely to appear.

This is a life formula which applies for every area – personal life, personal development as well as professional life.

It is surprisingly simple – yet all truths are simple – gurus, however don’t like it – they tend to complicate things to have a basis for rip off!

Observe the Golden Rule – follow the simple steps and have success in what you are doing. Simple doesn’t mean it is is easy.  

  • Take personal responsibility for yourself first of all – to achieve more you have to become more!
  • Strengthen your belief in yourself to be able to stand up against the harsh winds around you. Those who are part of the grey masses do not like your “light”, they do not like you moving on your path of success, they do not like you to “own your life”, to have your long-term residual income, to live the life of your dreams
  • Take massive action – join forces with a mastermind group which reflects your set of mind. It will support you when the storms hit you and your convictions are severely tested. We will believe in you when you run into a spell of doubt about yourself and point the way for  you again!
  • Reap the results of your unwavering efforts! Never forget the envy of the people around you has to be earned! When you live in the warm bath of your achievement cold winds will not be important any more. You have reached the ultimate belief in yourself and the way you live life and can generously reach out and offer a helping hand for those who want to follow your example.

    Perhaps you wonder about this heading?  It is all about perception! Just imagine an ant crawling at the foot of a big tower as shown here.

        Imagine just for a minute what its horizon will be

       – how far will it see the world around?  Not so very far!

        And asked to describe what it sees. It will very likely talk about a mountain of stones, grass blades hindering its path and the like.

    Now take that ant and put it on top of this very big tower. Perhaps it will even make the effort and crawl up – feeling the hard work of doing so..

    Let’s give the comparison with network a thought.

    When you start out with a network marketing business, a good one, you will receive network marketing coaching from your sponsor and your team. You will read books on network marketing and perhaps do some mlm online training. Very likely it will strike you that a major focus of it all is personal development. They will talk about creating your dream, working on your goals, widening your perception. And very similar to the ant crawling up that tower you will have to put in some effort working through it, learning, wondering, perhaps not fully understanding the why behind it all.

    You will be reading network marketing success stories, will be receiving tips and dig into network marketing secrets. You start building your network marketing business step by step. All of a sudden when you have “crawled” up the tower a bit you will start seeing the bigger picture. Your perception, your awareness of why you are doing what you are being told – like using your road to success tools, your system diligently will fall into place. You start seen the bigger picture. Your belief in your success in network marketing becomes stronger, you start understanding the reasoning behind the advice you are getting.

    When you have finally climbed the tower of of awareness, of mastery in what you are doing – creating targeted mlm leads, helping other people understand what you have already learned, using your network marketing resources consistently and with persistence – you are overwhelmed. You understand. Now you can spread your wings and roar to success.

    Grasp a helping hand, get expert training, remember the parable of the ant and get flying!

    Why Use A Mastermind Group

    What is a Mastermind Group?

    As per definition by Napoleon Hill it is a group of people who work together in perfect harmony to achieve a common goal. Reflecting on this I was struck by the “perfect harmony” bit.

    This is the most unusual situation when people come together. As a rule when a discussion group gets together it crystallises pretty soon that some of the group are leaders, others followers, again others are against everything as a basic attitude and others are listeners who do not express an opinion of their own. The result may be heated discussions and little to no results. does this ring familiar to you?

    In a mastermind group working in harmony, every participant should participate, add his or her thoughts without fear of criticism, all put in thoughts  are to be considered as to their effect, positive or negative and then left to reflection. This way energy will build up. Energy of mutual understanding, energy of reflection, of tuning into infinite intelligence, the entire group will be connected in a relaxed spirit of reflection, even meditation. This is the environment where intuitive input can happen, new thoughts can come up, resolutions which not one of the participant would have considered on their own will come up and can be adopted in mutual understanding. That way a resolution was created! Of course this approach is highly spiritual.

    Yet even in practical and tangible life this principle applies. Let me give you examples:

    A car is a lot more than all of its components in one place. A house is a lot more than all the building materials it requires put together. A masters degree at university is a lot more than the compiled books and lectures,…

    And a long-term, solid MLM business is a lot more than the number of its team  members and their turn over. It is friendship, mutual personal development and support, a common goal which is to be achieved by working together in harmony. It is a Mastermind Group.

    There are four elements of the thought process which are beyond our active control. You can adapt to them, but not control them.

    1.) Infinite Intelligence

    The higher power which ever way you may call it. You cannot discipline it yet you can tune your thought pattern in a way that you can tap it in a way. We all know that the subconscious mind cannot be controlled in the way as we do our conscious thought process, however, it is the connecting link between our conscious mind and Infinite Intelligence. As it acts on the dominating thoughts of the conscious mind this is the way we can take influence on our communication with Infinite Intelligence.

    2.) The Subconscious Mind

    Programming of the subconscious mind cannot be done by giving it orders – no the only way are desires charged with emotion. The subconscious mind does snot discriminate however – it only recognises emotion, cannot tell however, is it positive or negative. It will carry out the instructions of the negative emotions just as readily as those with a positive charge. It is therefore a necessity to practise hygiene of thought – become proficient at keeping those thoughts focused in our mind and emotion which we want to materialise

    3.) Sixth Sense / Telepathy

    This is the broadcasting and receiving station for thoughts. Thoughts are things – vibrations and, as the frequencies of mobile phones, TV, radio and more travel through the ethers and can be received by the appropriate devices, also the vibrations of thought can be received when our mind is tuned to an exceptional state of perception. A mastermind group will definitely be of help in the process.

    4.) The Five Senses

    Our normal five senses: seeing, smelling, tasting, hearing and touching when looked at in a more specific way turn out to be deceptive as they work within certain given parameters. Take a film, where the wheels of a moving train all of a sudden seemingly move backwards or take object which are heated to different temperatures – when touching the skin one and the same object at one and the same temperature may at first appear cold when applied to the skin and  only a short while later may be perceived as warm when applied after and ice cube which was a lot colder. These tricks can be tried with any of the senses and demonstrates that you need to be careful when trusting your senses.

    It is small wonder that personal development is such an important factor, that finding a mastermind group for support is such an important factor, that learning principles which can be grasped in spite of all these challenges is such an important factor. To succeed in life and in business we cannot go forward on make believe and assumptions. We have to learn to structure ourselves – we have to learn

    “How to Think and not What to Think”

    as Michael Dlouhy repeatedly stresses in his trainings. This challenge can be mastered with consistent training, at no cost – it takes your time and dedication though!

    You and the Mastermind Group

    YOU are the center of your life. YOU need to specify who YOU are and where YOU want to go.

    YOU have to create YOUR Dream, YOUR Vision of life!

    Does this sound different from what you were taught at home, at school or where ever? Probably. It is this attitude of putting yourself last which creates so many problems in life. Yet this attitude has developed over time. When you go into old scripts you will find the same/similar information pretty much everywhere: “love others as you love yourself”!

    Putting yourself last has created lack and lack is a bad advisor, since we create in our lives whatever is on our mind most. So what do we create when we come from a mindset of lack? LACK!

    Modern teachings all center around your dream and how to create one for yourself. This is easy for some, yet a process for most people. It is the environment which as a rule inhibits or in some cases even kills this process with statements like: “have you become an egotist”, “stay realistic”, “don’t aim for the moon”, “money is bad”, “why do you think you deserve this” – to quote only a few.

    In the process of personal development when you are about to re-program your personal mindset you are very touchy when such statements  are thrust on you. Therefore it is essential that you keep quiet about your venture in the first place until you know that you want to really change your life and then to have support and comfort in an alien environment you need to mix with people of your own mindset. This will give you the strength to grow, to stick to your ideas or even expand them.

    Best of all you join a strong group of people who have already mastered the new mindset or are well on the way to do so – a mastermind group. This group not only gives you strength and backing, it amplifies your capacity to move on.

    When several people of the same mind set meet the energies add up and the capacity of the group and its members rises exponentially. In a mastermind group you have a safe space where you can speak your mind, gather support and ideas, receive comfort when life has been harsh on you and you need a helping hand to bring you back to your path of growth and personal development.

    Lots of people will not understand this and try to draw you away, yet some people will understand and even join you as they have been searching.

    When you google personal development you will often see sites where personal development is offered in context with network marketing – this is no coincidence it is so TRUE! Network Marketing, when done in the right way, is an industry which builds people and helps people own their lives. Thanks to Michael Dlouhy and his mastermind group we can offer support to many people who are searching and it is a pleasure to provide all the support needed.

    How to Achieve Your Goals

    A lot has been written on this subject,  how to achieve your goals. At first sight it seems simple, yet once you start working with people you are in for a big surprise.

    When I first started to talk to people I naively asked them about their goals and found in many cases a total blank. Goals? What’s that, should I have some, I thought this is about football and many other surprising replies. It is surprising how many people get depleted by life and their surroundings that they forget it all, as children usually know very well what they want in life and from life.

    So the first step needs to be to open up a perception for this kind of approach. A conversation about dreams or what they might do if money was no issue in life as a rules creates a willingness to start thinking about this topic. This is an intermediate goal in itself. A first step of bringing someone back to life! With increasing willingness vision or dream workshops are a good way to proceed.

    Part of this process is creating the awareness that “loving oneself” is not an expression of ego, but a necessity and basis for a fulfilled life as well as a foundation of being prepared to work on goals and eventually set them and go for them.

    An excellent support in this process is the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill which was already written in 1937, yet which is very useful reading and learning even today. Napoleon Hill gives very precise instructions as to how to proceed with personal development, setting of goals and much more.

    Although I have been doing a lot about personal development for years I find that working through this book within a mastermind group is a challenge and opens yet other perspectives and doors.  In fact Napoleon Hill talks and explains a lot about the value of a mastermind group and it is fascinating to see it happen in practice.

    Once the goals are set and charged in the right way drawing them to life is a natural consequence. It can be compared to building a house – if the planning is perfect the actual building is work, but the outcome is set.
