There is this term in mentoring for free:

 “A Mentor With A Servant’s Heart”

and it is quite surprising how many people seem to have a problem with this mentality. Being a mentor with a heart for people is understood  only by some.

People will say – why do you do this for free or  wonder if this will end up in exploitation. No it doesn’t.

  • Having a heart for  people doesn’t imply that you cannot say NO. First there is no point in just sponsoring pure curiosity and second it is not the task of a mentor to “carry” somebody.
  • It is the task of a mentor to help empower people. To help them find their own self-worth and strength. To teach them skills they might not have and which are required for success online.

For valid mentorship it takes two sides – not only in school or normal life, but also in network marketing today:

There has to be the mentor with an ethical mindset and there has to be a student who wants help and co-operates.

If I find out that someone simply wants to use me – no way. I won’t permit that. I will say NO. Sometimes “tough love” will create an aha moment and after a period of reflection such a person may come back and understand. After all they want to create success in building their business.

Others need to cook in their own stew until they wake up.

As  mentor with a servant’s heart in network marketing today giving is natural. It is heart warming to see people grow as a person and in their skills which will then lead to success in building their network marketing business and will also put them in a place where they can mentor others, also showing a heart for them.

When you read “A Course in Miracles” you will see that this approach is very much in tune with our age.

We need to be the ones who make a change in the world, one person at a time.

Where is the Money?

Pillar 4

Does the  compensation plan pay part-timers?

Seeing that network marketing by now is 60+ years old some general statistics are available of course. Therefore I can safely say, that 95% of all networkers are pert-time people.

With this in mind it is obvious that a compensation plan needs to provide an income for these people or attrition will be booming.

The money for the paid out commissions of course has to come from turning products, which regulates the possible payout. When a company is advertising big how many millionaires they have created – have a close look if this was not done on the back of the part-time people.

The people at the bottom should never be the donkey on which the big ones ride to their success!

When you investigate a compensation plan, ask yourself the question: how many people do I need to consistently make $ 500 a month. The span you find out there is between 500 and only 20. Some well established companies will have compensation plans where you need between 150 to 350 people – and yet they manage to attract new people – they must be “in love” with the product!  They are still able attract new distributors – Amazing!  They must be sold on the product!

Ask your upline how many people you will need in your company – they don’t know? Well that might be an incentive to RUN!

When the commission you are making on the product is something like 5 – 8%, then you are really underpaid!

The bigger part of your commissions need to come from products being sold to end consumers. You don’t want to be in a scam – correct?

Also here there are more points that are worth while being discussed. Just ask!

Make sure you investigate what you are doing, after all you want to have success in network marketing today, you want to build a long-term business which will not only pay you but also your children and grand children. And a point that is important now and long-term:

You want to maintain your credibility!

Achievement, Hard Work or Luck?

Author: FriekeKarlovits

Achievement has been the topic of great many discussions. The question is it hard work or is it luck is a prominent one. The big conductor, Herbert von Karajan, said in one of his last interviews that a genius is made of 10% of talent and 90 % of hard work and persistence and I feel this ration pretty much applies to other achievements as well. Whenever this topic is being discussed with successful people they tell you that it was hard work. Some people seem to be having lots of luck, but the luck we see is the result, we don’t see what got them there. This applies to all areas of life and in particular if you are building a network marketing business.

For long term achievement in MLM you can’t beat hard work! In fact luck may be considered hard work too. To achieve it, it again takes hard work. You need to work on your attitude on your personal development, your professional background and education and a lot more and the resulting attraction will provide you with sustainability and growth. Needed not only in business but in any aspect of life.

It is hard work to achieve a goal and it has a lot to do with commitment and persistence. If you are “all in”, committed 100%, and you are truly dedicating yourself to your goal passionately, you are on the right track. However, if you have doubts or are not sure about your path and the directions to go, life might get a bit bumpy for you, lots of work feeling like hard labor.

Persistence and being able to face mistakes, even learning from them, as well as being able to handle rejection, and criticism will take you far. No matter how many people tell you “you can’t do it”, or “it will never work”; you carry on irrespective and move to the next steps.

Always consider and evaluate the lessons you have learned – there is no sense in making the same mistake over and over again!.

Working hard for a goal gives a lot of satisfaction and will keep a smile on your face, which again is a way to multiply your efforts.

All of a sudden luck will show up and things will fall into place: Be grateful and know “You Are There” – on the right path!

You are right – a commission plan is a normal feature in MLM.

Unfortunately too many people don’t ever take the time to investigate the commission plan in detail nor in fact their policies and procedures. Both of these items are equally critical when it comes to securing success – none can be given priority – it’s kind of a question “who comes first the egg or the hen”. therefore let’s simply  discuss commission plans today.

  • The very first question for you to ask is:  “What do I have to do to earn my first money”. If the answer to this question is jumping through hoops and finding a number of people – RUN
  • Next: “Which qualification do I have to meet to stay qualified for commissions”. So if you have to do more than just a certain personal sales, like having to sponsor one two or more, or even if the required personal sales is too high – RUN
  • Another critical point is that in some plans personal requirements increase with increasing income – that is where I ask you – how will you ever be able to retire on such a plan? Some people tell me they simply throw away the products they need to buy – this seems an awful waste if you ask me. But often you also need to sponsor people in the process. Say you have built a fair income and now you want to go on a 3 months’ cruise with your family – how will you do this if you have to sponsor, e.g., a couple of people per month to be eligible for commission. Might be an idea to RUN before you get into this tight spot!
  • How about this one: You need to prove that you are an active coaching and training partner for your team on an ongoing basis…

An these are just a few examples of what you may encounter when you study your commission plan.

A good question to ask yourself or rather whoever wants to sponsor you into a business is: “How many people do I need for a 10K residual income” – and watch out – this doesn’t comprises bonuses which as a rule are one time payments!

I hope this gets you thinking about the topic! If you need help to analyze the commission plan you are in, simply be in touch – we gladly will help you for free.

Time Or Money?

Author: FriekeKarlovits

Given choice, which would you prefer – time or money?    Do you feel this is a lop-sided choice which ever way you take it? Let’s consider it for a moment:

What can you do if you have all the time in the world: You can spend time with your family and friends, enjoy  your hobbies, throw away the alarm, enjoy nature when the weather is fine – what else can you think of you’d do if time at hand was unlimited?

What can you do with plenty of money: You can travel to all the places you fancy,  buy the car of your dreams, pay for a college education for your children, have the house of your dreams, a yacht, a permanent seat at the Metropolitan Opera – what are your ideas with a constant flow of  good income?

Of course you will say – wait a minute – how can I cope with the cost of living when I have all the time at hand I want and on the other hand  how do I do and buy all I want when my time is taken by earning the big income – for me there is no choice:

If I have the time I don’t have the money and if I have the money I am short of time. A vicious circle!

There are several solutions to this problem:

  1. You can have enough money in the bank to live on the interest
  2. You can write a book which becomes a best seller and you live on the royalties
  3. You can marry rich or have rich parents who leave you a wonderful business
  4. You can build a business which gives you a recurring income

to 1: Let’s assume you need a monthly income of 2000 Dollars for all you need – let’s say you manage to invest it that it gives you 6% of interest – how much money do you need to have a monthly income of 2000 Dollars – you can work this one out!

to 2: Well I am sure you were a gifted writer already at school – how come you have not  landed your best seller yet?

to 3: Oh – I understand – you much prefer to marry the love of your life than just anyone  for the sake of money. How many people do you know personally who are “professional siblings” – hm – none?

to 4: So why not jump at number 4 – building a business to create a recurring income. You have been doing network marketing all your life – even in Kindergarten you have already promoted what you liked – a toy or a nice playground where you wanted your friends to go too. Later in life you have recommended a restaurant or a special offer to your friends and family, that way creating plenty of income for the involved business owners – however – you have never made a Dime for your efforts – why not cash on this natural talent you are having?

That’s what network marketing is all about – you recommend products or services which you love and are being paid for the service. It is as simple as that. If you want the skills you require to do it as a business we are here to help you. the wonderful mastermind group founded my Michael Dlouhy,

“Mentoring For Free”. You can take it or leave it – it is your choice…

Looking forward to helping you achieve the life of your dreams,

How to Achieve Your Goals

Author: FriekeKarlovits

A lot has been written on this subject,  how to achieve your goals. At first sight it seems simple, yet once you start working with people you are in for a big surprise.

When I first started to talk to people I naively asked them about their goals and found in many cases a total blank. Goals? What’s that, should I have some, I thought this is about football and many other surprising replies. It is surprising how many people get depleted by life and their surroundings that they forget it all, as children usually know very well what they want in life and from life.

So the first step needs to be to open up a perception for this kind of approach. A conversation about dreams or what they might do if money was no issue in life as a rules creates a willingness to start thinking about this topic. This is an intermediate goal in itself. A first step of bringing someone back to life! With increasing willingness vision or dream workshops are a good way to proceed.

Part of this process is creating the awareness that “loving oneself” is not an expression of ego, but a necessity and basis for a fulfilled life as well as a foundation of being prepared to work on goals and eventually set them and go for them.

An excellent support in this process is the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill which was already written in 1937, yet which is very useful reading and learning even today. Napoleon Hill gives very precise instructions as to how to proceed with personal development, setting of goals and much more.

Although I have been doing a lot about personal development for years I find that working through this book within a mastermind group is a challenge and opens yet other perspectives and doors.  In fact Napoleon Hill talks and explains a lot about the value of a mastermind group and it is fascinating to see it happen in practice.

Once the goals are set and charged in the right way drawing them to life is a natural consequence. It can be compared to building a house – if the planning is perfect the actual building is work, but the outcome is set.
