Life and all that is part of it is prone to accumulating clutter. We are so used to our house, environment, office, wardrobe, shelves, business, network marketing business, that we become blind to its subtle change, the blur that comes in and eventually becomes so dense.

We may stop seeing the outlines, the necessities and may wade in the fog wondering why we are not having the success we dream of.

Of course we are aware we need targeted leads, build relationships with our prospects, make sure they get training and are plugged into a network marketing system that duplicates.

The blur, however, will haze our mind and the whole concept may be or become overwhelming that we cannot focus on what needs to be done next.

In the corporate world much the same happens in companies and as a rule when things  are going down management calls in outside experts who are not “involved” who will see clear, who will give support in analysing which things have gone wrong…

Well you can do the same – accept an offer for free coaching, take a hand offered and follow the guidance.

  • start with the basics and check your policies and procedures, your commission plan and consequently become aware of the strengths and weaknesses of your business. It happens that the entire situation is “not your fault”.
  • check if the way you do your work is a system that duplicates. You need a system which will adapt for every personality type if you actually want to succeed.
  • and check if the system you are working is up to date, because if you follow instructions which may have worked some 15 or more years ago – they are very likely outdated today

To make sure that your “love of the products, business, work environment” doesn’t blur your perception you need this outside input.

Truth – Half Truths – Lies

What a hot topic! Let me at first limit it to every day life – a life of normal human relationships and business. When you look round on the internet to find out how to proceed in taking your business there, you are at first overwhelmed by the number of offers which keep pouring in. Every single offer sounds tempting, rewarding and interesting when you look at it as an uninformed “newby”. It is not only the new medium which makes things so complex it is also the general low knowledge about the industry of network marketing.

It is recognised truth by now – or at least it should be – that network marketing is not a selling business, but a business of building people. Knowing this it becomes clear that “truth” is relative. When it comes to dealing with people there is no standard, no data sheet which constitutes the truth, but there is the truth of universal ethics and respect, a quality which everyone knows but apparently only few can actually muster. There are a number of true facts which can be determined, like having a sound and mutually beneficial contract, commission plans which pay as they are claimed they will without having hidden snags which an average person cannot understand until they are trapped. Another truth which is critical – the willingness to give support in a genuine way which makes people succeed without having to distort the information, the background of a company which ought to be solid from the founders to their intentions and business handling. This list already shows that recognising the truth may be a challenge at times.

The area of half truths, however is by far bigger. As many of the points listed above are a challenge to recognise, it becomes easy to spread half truths, like tell people how good a company is although insiders know that the founders might not have a clean history or “bragging” about a commission plan although it may be clear to the “savvy” that is based on the failure of many, praising a product highly although it can be worked out easily that it is twice or even more the price it is worth. Even offering support where it is obvious within short that no average person can ever be successful with that kind of proposed action or even sell tools to people who are in no position to judge what value they get and who despair as they are not having success although it is not their fault and they are perfect the way they are, as Michael Dlouhy keeps pointing out.

Lots of points contained in the second group can very well also be considered to be lies. The only thing that puts them in the category of half truths is the fact that many people who proclaim them are not aware of the problems themselves and believe what they are proclaiming and this makes education on the topic such a challenge. How to explain to someone who believes what he/she proclaims that in essence they are riding the wrong horse. Very often they have to fall first, some of them deep, before they are willing to listen, to learn!

There is this old prayer: “Please let me understand what I need to understand, and let me bear what I have to bear and please let me have the wisdom to distinguish between the two”.

Got An Honest Upline?

Right – you love MLM and you know you can do it.  You screen the industry to find what you are looking for. At this stage you  for sure need to make it a point to know who your upline will be. Let me tell you a story to show you why:

There was this lady in a network marketing company. She was the first woman in this company who built her business quickly – so fast, that she reached the first rank of the commission plan in only 4 months.

This excellent performance made her upline jealous and jealousy breeds envy. Unfortunately, like many others in this industry, she did NOT bother to read the company Policies & Procedures. How terrible having neglected it!

It is a necessity that you carefully read the Policies & Procedures BEFORE you ever join a company. This may not be easy as, at times, you don’t find them before you sign up! Request them!

So when this lady joined the company,  she told them that her fiancée was building another MLM business. There was no comment, but guess what? In the Policies & Procedures of this specific company it was stated explicitly, that you were not allowed to make any money from another network marketing company – not even an affiliate program! If you violated this provision, you can be terminated. And what’s worse -  these restrictions applied to everyone living in YOUR household!

If you ask me this is worse than being an employee! As an independent business partner, how can anyone put you under limitations like that?

Being happily unawares, this lady build to the top of the commission plan. She was was highly motivated as everything went so well. Her pending bonus check was $7,000 as a reward for reaching the top rank in the commission plan  and what’s more, she was the first woman to have done it!

Suddenly she found her web-site turned off, everything closed down, without even getting a notice from her company.

She had not considered her upline! She was informed by her upline that she had been terminated as her fiancée was building that other business. Now, she had told the company that they weren’t married and that he was building that other business! –          So what you need to watch out for – any modification in a signed agreement requires the written consent of the issuing party! Otherwise the information given is only “hot air”.             It had nothing to do with her and her work it was simply the loop hole to get her out, to not pay her what she had earned!

Having not read them, she wasn’t aware that the company was viewing two people to be one and the same for the sheer fact that they were living in the same household and  that this was laid down in the Policies & Procedures.

But how come the company knew this??

Very unlikely that the company would ever find out unless someone [the upline??] told them? Well who would!– Since she was terminated the entire organisation and the income rolled up – what a coincidence!

The upline didn’t have that kind of success and now – well, no need to any more!

I know a number of network marketers who have lost everything, because they never read their Policies & Procedures. No surprise I strongly advise you to go to your company website at once, and read your Policies & Procedures! It may be an “AHA” moment for you!

What happened when you joined your company? Did you check a box by which you accepted the Policies & Procedures? But did you actually read them – …?

There is another common trap – people think, "Well, everybody I know is violating this rule – seems the company must not care." Believe me, you can violate any rule as long as you’re not making any money. Only once you start getting a significant paycheck, the day has come when it’s worthwhile for an ill-meaning upline – or even your company – to terminate you for violation of your Policies & Procedures.

Communicate With Your Heart!

…oh, NO – not a love affair…………I am being serious YOU need to find your heart and finally see why we have it apart from the biological function it has in our body.

At all times in history the quality of the heart  showed up in society – in places like on this photograph an ancient tree where people go and write down their wishes on a slip of paper and put it in the string so that it may come true.   

IM000460 It reflects: “I wish with all my heart” and I hand it over to the higher power to handle it.

In a time where the rational mind is totally overrated and schools and universities have their focus on learning “the parrot way” too often this quality of listening to the heart was even ridiculed for decades and longer.

It is this shift in the quality of time which dawned many years back, which started to redirect the focus of people to their more subtle qualities, like acknowledging the gut feeling to say it the common way, which also permitted new developments in our society like the development of network marketing as a new industry with entirely different perspective. However, in a world of rational thinking and calculation it took a while until some understood what it is all about with this new industry.

Even 20 years and more back there were groups who had understood the power of thinking with the heart. They taught topics like: find your dream, live your vision, connect through the heart and I still remember that I was sitting at a seminar and wondered: “What the hell are they talking about”? I would have wanted to know more about the commission plan and how it should be presented correctly or to have detailed information about the products and how they could be sold – in fact I felt really alienated by what was going on. It took me years of failure until it finally started to dawn on me, that these people might have a clue how to do this business successfully.

In spite of all these years of failure I was still in this industry – I am not a quitter and I considered it a challenge. Having continuously watched people succeed who were normal people, with perhaps less education than I had – I simply had to figure it out!

To make you understand – I am a green personality – I want to know it all and precisely – what a predicament to be in when you are used to succeeding with your brains and now realise there are areas where it is of no practical use and it was a big “aha” moment when I finally realised and acknowledged that it is the heart quality in communication which makes all the difference.

I figured it out and eventually built a network marketing business successfully. It is this long stretch of digging and learning though, which has given me some insights which are worth while sharing.

Since this world and life are never at a stop of course and the age of the internet has changed this industry entirely, learning never stops and it is great to be in a group where you can draw from the knowledge of the most diverse people – internet savvies, communication experts, writers, top advertisers and more. You certainly need to learn from those who do it, as Michael Dlouhy, Richard Dennis and others.

It works so well as all of them have understood that communication from the heart makes the world go round, is the basis to create lasting friendships and help people achieve their goals but also their dreams.

You are more than welcome to be in touch and that way take a short cut to what took me years!
