Ants are a fascinating species – no wonder Jim Rohn liked the analogy he was teaching.

An ant hill, as  in the picture, is a very precisely organized society. Everything is in place, nothing is left to chance. Everything they do is organized and duplicable by all the ants who belong to this group. No wonder they are masters at survival as well as at accomplishment.

Over the years, I have been teaching kids about a simple yet powerful concept: The Ant Philosophy. I think everybody should study ants. They have an amazing four-part philosophy.

     1. Ants Never Quit

That’s a good maxim. If they’re headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they’ll look for another way. They’ll climb over and under, they’ll crawl around and they keep looking for another way – they don’t give up. What an awesome philosophy to never quit finding ways to reach where you want to go. A true role model!

     2. Ants think about “winter” all summer

What a circumspect attitude. It simply wouldn’t make sense to think summer will last forever. Ants collect their food for the winter all over summer.

Quotations like “don’t build your house on sand” are founded. A house needs a foundation to last and very much the same way we need to look ahead and need to do things in a well structured way as the ants – never deterred by averse “winds”.

      3. Ants think about “summer” all winter

This is so important. During the winter ants keep reminding themselves “This won’t last long – we’ll soon be out again” and on the first warm day, the ants come out of their winter domicile. They are flexible though – when it turns cold again, they dive back in.  however they sense the warmth and can’t wait to stay out doing their job.

     4. How much will an ant collect in summer to prepare for the winter

The answer is: All they possibly can. What an incredible “all-you-possibly-can” philosophy!

The other day I read a sentence  which struck me:

"You cannot sit on the road to success for if you do, you will get runover"   Anonymous

This is so true, especially when it comes to MLM. You only need to go  and surf the internet and you will quickly realize that this industry is full of hype. Advertising business opportunities where you get not only something, but “all” for nothing – people claiming that they will build your downline if you only sign up. This is weird – just look at the law of attraction in this context – somebody just singing up expecting to have his downline built – doesn’t this equal “sitting on the road to success”?? It is the kind of situation where lazy bodies “road sitters” are attracted and they sit pretty fat if you ask me!

It seems hard to believe that there are people who actually buy into all these offers and of course as a result the internet is brimming full with people who never ever have success in their network marketing business. First they started it with the wrong attitude of expecting something for nothing and second nobody ever told them what to do instead – it really is a situation of “having been run over”.

It is about time that we wake up when surfing the internet. All the parameters have to be applied to an opportunity on the internet which we would no doubt apply when looking for a business offline in “the real world”.

Of course we will read the contract there so that we know what to expect. First we need to know what kind of work we are expected to perform, at which level, which qualifications are required, what the boss will expect from us so that he will keep us on.

And most certainly we will want to know what we will be paid for the work we are supposed to do.

Very likely if we don’t know the company  we will also make some inquiries if they are decent people so that we can expect a job without extra risk.

If only these 3 parameters would be taken into account when looking for a business on the internet far less trouble would arise. Yet on the internet and in particular when it is MLM which is the topic, most people seem to have a magic switch which stops them from thinking straight – what’s more, quite a number of people when questioned regarding these three points will be top lofty and consider you negative and that for the simple reason of suggesting they apply common sense! Isn’t it absurd?

When you have decided that you want to look for a network marketing business the best you can do is to get yourself educated well right from start. This will save you years of failure and frustration.

Let your life pass in your mind’s eye. Start with Kindergarten, then pre-school, and the next schools you attended, also college, university. if you did an apprenticeship review that, then your jobs and other obligations…

Everywhere you had to accept the people around you if you wanted to or not. Fortunately we do have some nice ones around in each stage of life, but we also have to cope with some who are really not to our taste. It gets even worse when the people you don’t like are your teachers, your boss or even members of the family. We never ever had a choice!

It is fabulous in network marketing once you have understood that you do not need everybody you meet – in fact you need only a hand full of people and make sure you choose those where you can very well imagine to be on a long cruise together and enjoy and have fun! This is critically important – why? Well in a good network marketing business you will be partners for life – so you better make sure you like the people you chose.

This is a very clear concept, yet to be able to pull it through you also need a company that understands and gives you the right kind of support. A highly ethical attitude is what you need on all levels – company, upline and partners. You will perhaps ask how you are supposed to find out about the company. No problem there is free coaching at hand where you learn it all if you are coachable. There are clear criteria by which you can determine what is what.

As far as your upline is concerned – well simply request help and support – ethical people will gladly provide it and be happy to serve you. Make sure you trust the law of attraction, as when a big group of ethical people join to form a mastermind group it is automatic that it is like minded people who are attracted -  the others will not feel comfortable in such a team – too much challenge if you don’t serve from your heart!

Quite recently I asked this question openly – strangely most people don’t seem to understand – so let me explain.

You are invited to a special dinner – all is ready and you just need to sit down with relish. So what happens – does the waiter dump the entire dinner including aperitif, starter, soup, main course, desert, all the belonging drinks and wines as well as coffee in front of you and leaves?

I am sure you laugh – certainly not – you get it all nicely served in due course, they will ask you what you prefer and will ask you if all is ok and they give you nice breaks in between to enjoy and let it settle – otherwise you might be getting indigestion instead of  having had an enjoyable evening.

Now let’s consider the steep learning curve in comparison. Every person will enter a course at the personal level of knowledge – not two persons are equal as far as knowledge and background is concerned.

When you look round you will find plenty of courses where you are simply dumped with a heap of resources and that’s it. Yet like with a delicious meal if you really want to make the most of it you need to get your information – first adapted to “where you are” and second in portions which you can digest and you need someone with whom to discuss the material, who will point you here and there to facilitate the training.

Especially in an industry as network marketing where a comprehensive education is not state of the art and lots of people seem to think they can do it anyways – well this situation as well as attitude is reflected in long-term numbers: 97% of all network marketers never make it, it is vital to make people increasingly aware of this situation.

Good coaching and mentoring is a necessity!

It is the easiest and one of the best ways of learning to lean “a bit” then put it into practical use and then learn again. This way you become proficient step by step, you learn the “trade” as an apprentice and after a year or two you are a network marketing professional who will be on the road to success, building a team based on relationships and trust, you will be able to give your team the same kind of training you received and you have a mastermind group at hand – the people who trained you – what an enjoyable ride. Sit down in a pub or some other place and listen to what people are talking -  There is this woman who has been on the first pages of a magazine, featured as the top business person of the year or the man who built a multi million Dollar business from scrap or that guy who actually got rich in MLM. I mean you know what I am talking about?

People who become rich always become the center of gossip. You will hear all sorts of comments like – well “she has had the right background, the right education, incredible luck,…” and a lot more along these lines. There is no doubt in people’s heads that  these are the dominant criteria for having achieved success, “luck” . Statements like these scream “ENVY” even though nobody will own up it! Attitude is a word never considered by the man in the street who spends his time in spreading gossip.

Let us investigate into this topic. What needs to be done to achieve extraordinary success:

• You need to have the mindset for success
• A written goal and dream
• A definite plan – and
• You need to take massive action

Mindset

What’s mindset to do with success? Unless your thought centers around success nothing will happen. It is our subconscious mind which has a major part in what we manifest. Yet as Napoleon Hill says, the subconscious is dumb it accepts whatever is fed to it, no matter if positive, sad, negative or whatever. It is surprising! Mostly when people meet up with negative stuff they get heated and emotional about it and it is emotion which conditions thoughts that they are readily accepted by the subconscious. No wonder that so few people manifest wealth.

To be able to manifest wealth you have to program the subconscious with  thoughts about wealth and they have to be charged with emotion to make the subconscious understand. In a world where negativity prevails this wealth programming of the subconscious is a task which has to be performed on a regular basis with the necessary emotion and faith attached to it. Only perseverance in this topic will create the required results.

Written Goal and Dream

To be able to program the subconscious well,  a written goal and dream is essential support. It keeps you focused on the regular task of programming the subconscious. Manifestation takes time so this focus is a needed tool.

Definite Plan

When we keep working with our subconscious the means how we can achieve our goal and dream will pop up and we need to implement it into our definite plan. If you don’t pay attention to the input of your “gut feeling” you may miss out on information given to you by the infinite intelligence and your manifestation may not happen or happen at a later stage after you have mastered this step.

Massive Action

It is a well know truth – it is not enough to know we need to do it – to implement what we have learned!

Most people are totally unawares of these mental laws which explains why they don’t succeed or only on a moderate scale yet some have understood these laws and succeed at an astounding rate.

In every single business you will benefit greatly when you take this to heart and particularly if you want to build  a successful MLM business.  It is a necessity! A Mentor With A Servant’s Heart

We have been talking about goals – a lot in fact – so why now talk about your dream?  Your dream is an expression of the soul of life of your nature.

Years back when I first met up with someone who asked me about my dreams I was a bit put out as I had left my dreams behind me like so many. Passing through the educational system with its attitude of rationalism and the request that knowledge has to be acquired at any cost, had step by step and thoroughly eliminated the dreams. Not that I was aware of it as no one ever talked about them apart from dreaming during sleep and even talking about that was not too popular in those days.

The friend who had alerted me to think about my dreams obviously had encountered many people like me who had lost their dreams altogether. He started to coach me carefully, asked me what I had wished for as a small child and in my early years at school and even then I found it hard to connect. I met other people in groups who talked about their dreams and how important they are in life and so slowly I dared to risk a thought and another one and I used my so well trained rational mind to go that way and imagine. It was a start, yet I realised that something was missing. For me my dreams at that stage were a list of ideas which appealed to me as being nice, but they didn’t impact me enough to get me going after them. When discussing the topic with like minded people I even encountered another obstacle. They kept talking about following the dreams with passion as that would make them real and tangible. Wow – what a challenge – where do you get passion from when you have lost it as a result of the conditioning you have received for years and years…

Does this situation perhaps ring a bell in you? Do you feel odd, to say the least, when somebody asks you what your dreams are? Today the topic of dreaming, of creating your vision, of working on the dreams, the vision has become a lot more popular and more and more people are at least in theory aware of this concept. There are workshops available and teams who dedicate time to this kind of work and also in good business trainings the dream and the vision have found space.

If you are new  to this kind of work I strongly suggest you get yourself a pin board which you make your dream/vision board – you can start off with small things which come to your mind which you might want or do  and which at the moment have no room in your life and as you keep looking at the board you will step by step develop an  interest and a liking for adding ideas or even change some until at some stage you will realise that you have developed a relationship with your dreams and that you actually draw them into life through your imagination, later in your thoughts, your planning. And then one or the other of the dreams on your vision board will manifest in life and  now, if it did not happen before, you can also connect with the passion you are supposed to have for your dreams.

YOU are the center of your life. YOU need to specify who YOU are and where YOU want to go.

YOU have to create YOUR Dream, YOUR Vision of life!

Does this sound different from what you were taught at home, at school or where ever? Probably. It is this attitude of putting yourself last which creates so many problems in life. Yet this attitude has developed over time. When you go into old scripts you will find the same/similar information pretty much everywhere: “love others as you love yourself”!

Putting yourself last has created lack and lack is a bad advisor, since we create in our lives whatever is on our mind most. So what do we create when we come from a mindset of lack? LACK!

Modern teachings all center around your dream and how to create one for yourself. This is easy for some, yet a process for most people. It is the environment which as a rule inhibits or in some cases even kills this process with statements like: “have you become an egotist”, “stay realistic”, “don’t aim for the moon”, “money is bad”, “why do you think you deserve this” – to quote only a few.

In the process of personal development when you are about to re-program your personal mindset you are very touchy when such statements  are thrust on you. Therefore it is essential that you keep quiet about your venture in the first place until you know that you want to really change your life and then to have support and comfort in an alien environment you need to mix with people of your own mindset. This will give you the strength to grow, to stick to your ideas or even expand them.

Best of all you join a strong group of people who have already mastered the new mindset or are well on the way to do so – a mastermind group. This group not only gives you strength and backing, it amplifies your capacity to move on.

When several people of the same mind set meet the energies add up and the capacity of the group and its members rises exponentially. In a mastermind group you have a safe space where you can speak your mind, gather support and ideas, receive comfort when life has been harsh on you and you need a helping hand to bring you back to your path of growth and personal development.

Lots of people will not understand this and try to draw you away, yet some people will understand and even join you as they have been searching.

When you google personal development you will often see sites where personal development is offered in context with network marketing – this is no coincidence it is so TRUE! Network Marketing, when done in the right way, is an industry which builds people and helps people own their lives.
