It is an open secret by now: Network Marketing today is a relationship business and not a sales business!image

I hear the outcry of sales people and the red  personalities who still believe that network marketing is a sales business.

They claim: that after all products need to be moved and as a result they focus on moving the product.

Yes, true, products need to be moved, but in a very different way.

First:

Even in the normal market lots of products are being moved by recommendation. Everybody will tell friends and family if they have had a good deal on something – no matte if it was a film, a pair of shoes or a lovely meal or whatever.

‘This makes a lot of product turn over in the normal market a “relationship business” – people sharing what they like.

Second:

In this fast and impersonal world people are increasingly craving for relationships. It is an uneasy feeling to have to do things alone all the time. It makes you feel good to have someone to reflect, to have confirm what you are wondering, etc.

Therefore as a customer it is nice to have someone to talk to about a product you might want to buy. Some one where you have the feeling that they know what they are talking about and who perhaps makes you feel special because you chose what you did.

Third:

When you are lo9oking fro a business you all the more want to fee l safe and wanted, to have somebody beside you who will take your hand and support and help you in the alien territory of entrepreneurship,somebody who wants YOU because of who YOU are!

So no matter what – product or business – relationships count.

And in network marketing today relationships count all the more.

It is a business of:

  • people joining people, 
  • training and supporting people,
  • giving them incentive for personal development and growth.

“Show me the money” – a very important question in network marketing today.

 

A high percentage of people are susceptible to hype  and unfortunately that’s how many of them get into network marketing.

You may perhaps sit in a presentation and the speaker explains all the maths on the commission plan – great!

Next you sit at home and look at your bonus check and you cannot understand why it is so small.

There is a huge difference between the maths of a bonus plan and the actual way it works in combination with the policies and procedures and all the rules which need to be observed for qualification.

We call it “the hoops you need to jump through”

So when you are listening to a presentation a very legitimate question will be: “How many people do I need for a 10k walk away residual income a month”

There is a big likelihood that even the presenter will have not a clue what this number is and consequently he will either evade and  jump to other topics of he may tell you straight that he will have to work it out.

You definitely need this number as it is kind of qualifying the performance of the commission plan.

Lesson learned: Maths and  Hype are no adequate advisors when it comes to choosing a network marketing business!

image Finding success strategies in network marketing today is very likely one of the hottest topics.

Searching on line you will find thousands of system offers. When checking them out you should be a critical thinker and ask yourself: Who will benefit most from this offer?

A huge number of offers you will find to be of no value to  you, however, those who sell them for sure profit from each and every sale.

Here’s a check list for you:

  • Who is offering the system and are they experienced in network marketing
  • Will everyone be able to duplicate what you are looking at
  • Who owns the data base if you have a lead collecting function included
  • what is the package price
  • Which kind of training, if any, is offered as part of the package.
  • Will you be able to get educated about it upfront?

These are only a few critical questions you ought to ask yourself when looking at an offer you have found.

For me it is highly important to know who I am co-operating with, if the people are decent and honest. After all it is a lot of  work that goes into building a list for one and then it is highly  important to know how to deal with those people well so that you can make the most of your work,

image It is an open secret that in network marketing today the failure rate is above 90%. How can that be?

Most people who join a network marketing business join a network marketing opportunity as they are excited either about a product or about the chance of “owning their lives”. They sign up as they trust the person who presented the opportunity to them.

They start their work full of enthusiasm and follow the instructions they get from their sponsor, if they get any at all. Mostly it will be things like”make a list of friends and family and buy leads.

Let’s go for buying leads first – that is a treacherous way of doing anything as to be on the legal side you need to have leads who opted into YOUR offer. I someone reports you as spammer you need to be able to provide the opt in details and the opt-in IP.

Making a list of friends and family may work for some if they happen to have people around them who have a similar mindset and similar needs. It doesn’t work at all of they have their own different jobs or businesses which are totally unrelated to marketing.

Just imagine you want to have your house painted – would you  advertise for doctors to do so? Well, you may laugh but that’s just what it is if your friends and family are not at all interested in anything like network marketing it is hopeless to perhaps try and talk them into it. Just as un likely  as having a doctor paint your house.

Another big topic  will be the company you join itself.

  1. Which kind of a commission plan do they have?
  2. How many and which hoops to you have to jump through to qualify
  3. What are the policies and procedure like – are they only for the company and without consideration for you?
  4. Are their products fairly priced?

These are just 4 critical points you need to look at. Most people may require education to  be able to read a commission plan or the legal text of the contract so don’t feel bad if you are having a hard time going through this material. That is why mentoring for free is available online – an organisation of volunteers who set out to help.

You may find lots of training online on how to build a business  and there are many people who have quite good knowledge on how to work, like:

How to build relationships.well, give support to your team, help them on all levels, etc.

However, if you are an average person the best training in the world will not make you a real winner if the cards are stacked against you

and you have missed out on investigating if the company you have joined is the right background for achieving your dreams!

What is your definition of freedom?

Give me your feedback!

Mine is to  be able to do:

  •    What I want to do,
  •    When I want to do it and
  •    Without monetary limits.

It may seem like having the focus on money only – certainly not! However so many worthy things in life can only be effected with adequate funds.

Look at health:

Yes I understand what you mean – good health cannot be bought by money. I agree -  not in the direct understanding. However, enough money does have a direct connection with health.

If you can buy excellent food, supplements, spa recreation, long holidays, etc. because you can afford it you are far more likely to maintain your good health for a very long time.

Being free of worry is another topic when it comes to good health.

  • Worry is inclined to make people sick over time.
  • Worry of not knowing how to pay your bills,
  • Worry of loosing your job,
  • Worry of being overworked to make it all happen,
    to list but a few.

Network marketing today is designed to give you a chance for freedom.

  • Does it happen on auto-pilot? NO.
  • Does it happen with just anything? NO.
  • Does it happen in total ignorance? NO.

To gain your freedom by building a network marketing business today you will have to get educated – not by the company you might have fallen love with, but in a generic manner so that you will learn all the MUSTs and NOs of the industry.

There is too much out that will not serve you. There are too many out who will only look after their own gain, whereas the basis for true success is:

You need to give before you take.

This is a paradigm which many find hard in today’s world where everything is supposed to “happen right now”.

Building a network marketing business is very much like cultivating plants:

You need to sew, then water the seeds so that they eventually will germinate and then you have to nourish the tender seedling so that they can grow and gain strength.

If you subject them to a hailstorm or to power hosing you’ll not like be in for a harvest. Let this be your directive when you are looking at how to build a long-term lasting network marketing business.

Look to find the right seeds and follow the process.

The results will be so rewarding that you will never be sorry you did what you did. Be prepared to meet up with some “bad weather “in the process and like you would cover up tender plants resort to connect with your mastermind team to get protection, support and encouragement.,

“I have no time” – this is what many prospects tend to say when it comes to deciding about doing a network marketing business today and doing it successfully.

“I have no time” is simply way of saying NO.

Time is elusive and most people actually while away a lot more time than they’d ever acknowledge.

Most people consider lack of time a major problem. Some don’t as they have discovered time management.

__________________________________________________________________

Today I’d like to have you take a look at how much time we actually have.

Every single person has exactly 168 hours a week.

Let’s break it down:

  • 8 hours of sleep per day              56
  • 8 hours of work 5 days per w.       40
  • 3 hours of commuting 5 d./w.       15
  • 1 hour of grooming   p.d.               7
  • Family life, house-care, food        30
  • Favourite sport     p.w.                 5

                                Totals to         153 hours a week

That leaves you 15 hours a week to do your  home based business

(and between you and me – do you really need 8 hours of sleep every night??)

I am aware that different people have different parameters, but in general everyone ca set up such a time table.

You will see one thing – I have allowed no  space for watching TV or reading the news paper. However if you really want to do something to improve your quality of time in the long run you need to be aware that you cannot get something for nothing. Doing some sport will empower you whereas watching TV will drag you down. You need support to do this – be in touch we’ll help you!

There is this big contrast between some people who seem to be having massive success in network marketing today and the others who keep struggling in spite of lots of effort.

The difference between them is attitude!

Just recently I made a YouTube on attitude where I sum up about it – you might want to check it out.

Attitude is a personal quality which  to a large extent is programmed by our environment from early childhood onwards. However, once we grow up we have it in our hands to replace those parts of our basic programming which we find do not serve our purpose in life.

Attitude can be “re-programmed” too. It is a process you cannot do it by pressing a button, but once you are alerted to the need of it and you actually want it you can do it.

The first step will be to spot the bits you want to change. Are you perhaps one of those people who in a conversation with others find it easy to agree on the surface by saying “yes, BUT”? I give you an example. I show you a way how to create leads in network marketing today. You listen carefully and then you reply: Yes, I perfectly understand where you are coming from, but don’t you think I could do it that and that way? Hm – as a matter if fact you have only humored me,  however, you  have said NO between the lines.

This kind of attitude is not very obvious and most people will consider it charming behaviour and  interaction, yet it is limiting. It limits your willingness of being coachable. Does this serve you? Certainly not!

Once you are alerted to the topic you will start noticing it when you are interacting. At first perhaps a little annoyed, then over time you will grin and know you have “caught yourself” once again in the old pattern. You will start noticing the same behaviour in many others and eventually you will stop it.

Wow – you have grown! Spot the next handicap in your programming and start working on it.

You may say this is hard – yes, may be it is, but it is very well worth your time.

If you are willing to accept support in this venture find yourself a mastermind group of like-minded people.Your progress will be a lot faster and it will be more fun to share and learn, as you won’t feel alone in the desert with a task which is a challenge.

The best thing, if you are stepping into this process because you want to have success at network marketing, would be to join a mastermind group of network marketers – that will cover two topics in one stroke. You will grow and you can improve other skills at the same time, no matter in which business you are.

“Insane Productivity”

It appears to be insane to use this expression for extremely high productivity – a real joke!

It is obvious that  to achieve high success in network marketing today you are looking out for strategies that let you explode your productivity.

You will say at once that it is leverage that creates this productivity in a network marketing business. This is true, but you need to get there in the first place.

Leverage is the result of effort accumulated over time. A new network marketing business doesn’t start with success on day one, nor does any other business in fact. You need to do all the diligent homework you do in any other business and then  get it going through persistence, personal development and nurturing team work.

In this process there are a number of things which may help you on the way:

  • Be peaceful within. High productivity needs work, no doubt, but you also need peace of mind and a relaxed approach. Love what you are doing and be focused. When you love what you are doing you will be able to see things in a positive light so that everything will flow freely.
  • Take action. There is no productivity without action! It is not enough to plan to climb the Mt.Everest – you need to go there and actually do it!.
  • Get organized. You need to have a clean workplace. Don’t push  things off and work without delays. There are some people who have the strange idea that anyone who is tidy is only too lazy to put in a good search – I think investing that search time into work will get you a lot further.
  • Be proactive. Let your creativity kick in – it may even help you to get things done a lot quicker than anticipated.
  • Do what you love or love what you do. In any work schedule there will be things you really like and others which you don’t really like that much – do them with a good mood nevertheless it will minimize procrastination. With practice you may get over this dislike.  Let work be your passion and it will be easy.
  • Communicate with nature. We are part of nature and cannot be detached from it. Food, water air and all around us are part of nature. Blending with nature will set your mind at rest and the better you manage it on all levels the healthier you are likely to be – this again increases your  productivity. Your success in your network marketing business will  benefit greatly – especially if your products are in tune with a natural aspect – like healthy food, or whatever.

Implementing these thoughts into your life-style and business building activities you will be an excellent role model for your network marketing team and you will attract awesome people as business partners.

The result will be incredible leverage and a rate of success in your network marketing business you can now only dream of

Linear Versus Recurring Income

Do you actually know the definition of a recurring income?

A linear income  resembles bills which you pay once and they are done. Buy a dress, buy a meal, see a movie, things you do once at a time – they are linear expenses.

There are also recurring expenses:                 your utilities bills, your telephone bill, various insurances -                                                       amounts you keep paying again and again on a monthly basis.

In  most professions – teachers, doctors, lawyers, or in fact any other – you are exchanging time for money.  You teach, treat a person, set up a contract. When you stop working, your income stops – you have a "linear income".

  • However, if you write a book (preferably a best seller) or make a CD which will sell well or you purchase stocks to save up for your retirement your income structure is different. For each book or CD that is being sold you earn a certain amount money – month after month and year after year.
  • For a good investment you will receive dividends in much the same manner. This is a so-called "recurring" income:  you receive it for something you have done once and it goes on and on.

When you create a recurring income you can actually live the life style of the rich without having to become a millionaire first.

If you apply what you learn from Mentoring For Free in your network marketing business today you will get there.
In life, you will only ever get paid for what you DO and not for what your KNOW, but of course you have to learn: "what" to do and and "how" to do it right, before you will be paid for doing it successfully.

Would you prefer to have heart surgery done by a surgeon or by a student? No? Well why should it be different when it comes to success in network marketing?

  • A recurring income solution for a teacher might be receiving a small percentage of each student’s income after they leave school and start working, and for as long as the student works.

Crunch the numbers to see how much you would have to have to save up to be able to have a recurring income of 10 000 Dollars from interests on your account. Right now this is an interesting question  – a life time of savings would not be enough!

When you start a network marketing business you will soon be having some extra income.  As your team grows also the checks will grow. If you are wise and use that extra money to pay off your debts first, you will be debt free by the time your recurring income reaches 10 000 Dollars a month and that will already do nicely for a good life style.
It is an excellent way to create wealth – you likely do not know many people who will be able to achieve that kind of income from their interests.

Provided you are coachable and you really want to KNOW you can build that kind of income in network marketing in 2 – 10 years.

There is one other aspect which is vital to your success in building a network marketing business – it is Your WHY!

You Why in a way is like the address in a GPS in the car. Start it without an address input and it will give you a failure or not perform – the same happens:

if we don’t create a Why for our life. This creates a situation where we are like floating matter in a river – we drift along where ever life takes us – no steering, no focus!

In Network Marketing Today it is an open secret that to achieve more you have to become more.

Of course every single person who is building a network marketing business has an idea about which kind of business partners they really want: They sure want the persistent and clever person who is making contacts easy and who will get many partners and customers in very quickly.

So if we know what we want, why does it mostly take time to actually achieve it?

We all keep talking about the law of attraction, of personal development, of learning the right skills, etc

However there is one key question you will have to ask yourself in this context:

Would I Like to Be in Business With Myself?

  • Yes, this is correct and the question is not easy to deal with. You need to take a hard look at yourself, not through any soft-focus lense,  but straight and true. Look yourself in the mirror and look into your eyes and ask yourself that question: Would I like to be in business with myself.
  • Consider it point for point – why should people want to be in business with you? Make note of your strengths and weaknesses – not so much professionally, but as the person who you are. It it tough? Yes, may be it is, but it is a very good way to assess what is happening around you.
  • After you have found out who you are and  who you want to be, start working on yourself. It is a personal decision you need to take and it will be very much worth while. As a result the world around you will change.

It is a fact in the industry of network marketing, that people do not join your opportunity – people join you! They join you because they want to be around you, they join you because you are a role model for them, they join you because they like and perhaps admire you and many for other reasons.

This reflects, why building relationships is the basis for success in network marketing today. Of course we make the best of efforts and get informed as to which business we want to build, but who knows even having done the best of diligence a company may go bust for which ever reasons.

Provided you have built your team according to optimal criteria of human interaction: love and mutual understanding and trust, you will have built it for good. Your  team members, who actually joined YOU will happily brainstorm with you where to go next should such an adversity happen.

Building yourself, building the best relationships you can with the people who you really relate with, is the best long-term security you can have for yourself and your team.

Choose a Company for Life and Beyond

In Network Marketing Today when worked online lots of people are side tracked by offers of quick cash – but

Quick Cash = Quick Crash

no more no less. Well perhaps at times even less as many of these offers are invalid.

Such an offer may side-track people to such an extent that they even loose sight of their dream. As a normal person with the heart in the right place you likely can’t sleep when you know very well that you  have stolen someone’s dream. So you won’t do it. But there are those who do not have this kind of awareness.

Unlike a job, which in a way is quick cash  too, as you exchange your time for money, network marketing is a business. It is a business that can pay you and your children and children’s children for the rest of their lives, –provided you choose the right company – a "5 Pillars" company. There is more on 5 pillars on my blog and of course even more in the Free Training we offer.

Too many people think they need to "build it fast". It in a way seems to be a handicap of societies today that all needs to be fast, fast, fast!

The other day I talked with a guy – he is in a binary and told me that he was placed in a spot where he has already 700 people down one leg. Well, excellent, but he was “not yet” making any money!

“Newbies” as a rule don’t understand that they are not being paid on the strong leg in a binary plan! A binary plan pays on the week leg and that is the one he will have to build himself!

Unfortunately people are blinded by that hype with the strong leg and they sign up and  as a rule it takes them a while or even longer to understand how such a plan works and how much of their effort goes down the drain!

Don’t fall for scams. Make sure you choose well and build long-term!

What are contracts in Network Marketing Today? 

The contracts are 

the Policies and Procedures!

Talking to network marketers of today you will quickly learn that only few people  ever read their policies and procedures- what a plight! This is a huge handicap for success!

Have you ever heard that somebody who invests into any kind of business will not read their contract carefully or even have it checked by a lawyer who specializes in business contracts? Not really. The reason for it is that the investments to be made are far too high to take any risk.

There is not so much difference between conventional business and network marketing today.

  • In conventional business you invest lots of money and then pay back for years until you reach the break even point when you finally start  making money that actually belongs to you.
  • In network marketing you are investing your time till you finally reach the point where you earn good money as you have finally reached success.

In either case the risk is the same, if you have not made sure you are in a good contract. In conventional business you might be out of business long before you reach the break even point and in network marketing you might wake up with a big bump when you finally realise that your efforts only benefitted the company you are with as they can terminate you any time as they desire to in accordance with the policies and procedures which you have never read.

You never even realised that they contained clauses like “ongoing support for your downline” or “termination at the sole discretion of the company” or “contract renewal  at the sole discretion of the company” and many more. It might even be so bad that your check stops without forewarning for any of the stated reasons or many others in fact and you only realise then the mistake you made.

Do you  start “seeing” the importance of reading your contract? Find it now and read it to at least minimize damage! If you need help say so!

Law of Attraction is not a Magic Wand from a Fairy Tale, it’s in a way Universal Physics

When you consider a “magic wand” of  performing magicians it can , however, be likened to the law of attraction.

To perform a magic show you need to  be the master of your “tricks” – know exactly what you do when and that you need to do it just right to keep you audience in awe.

And of course we all wish it was simple but making the law of attraction work for you is just as tricky. Physics work, so do universal physics, but we have to figure out to make it work for us so that we actually get what we want and where we want.

The question is not if you  believe in the law of attraction or not. If you do what is required  the law of attraction works anyways, very much like you can drive a card yet don’t know how to make it if you get it as a load of all the single parts of it. So let’s look at some basics.

  • Start your day with positive thoughts,
    instead of thinking about having to get up once again so early  and all the stress of the new day which is waiting for you. Starting your day on negative thoughts is setting you up for failure. You are switching on the “magnetism of negative experience”. Make the effort of starting your day on positive thoughts.
  • Visualize already at the end of the day  what your next day will be and how much you will get done and achieved. Such a positive picture will let you rest a lot better and it will provide the grounds for relaxed waking up as you have it all in place ahead of time.
  • A good way not to get hooked on negative thoughts is to not  think at all or to think of minor, trivial things – nice ones, like the good joke you heard a couple of days back or whatever.
  • Then stretch, take a deep breath and think of something you like, something that gives you joy or positive expectancy – may be an outing you have in mind, a person you love, your pet, there are so many options and everyone will choose different.
  • Keep you mind away from negative thoughts. The best way to do it is to keep the mind occupied with what you are doing. This has a dual benefit – first you don’t fall into negative thoughts and second when you focus on what you  are doing your performance will be excellent and you have another positive input as a result.

I guess this sounds easy – it is, but it needs practice, it needs applying the Slight Edge Strategy:

All easy things can be done easily, but they can also easily not be done.

So don’t worry about more complicated approaches you might run across – do the simple thing but do it.

When you apply this slight edge strategy also to your success in network marketing today you will find, that there are many simple things which need to be done to get you successful and every single one can be done easily, but can also easily not be done. And for the sheer fact that it is all so easy, the long-term importance tends not to be seen and considered in the right way.

“Organized Flexibility”    is this a fit or a contradiction?

 For me it is a perfect fit.

In network marketing today it is a necessity to be organized, to be  working according to your plans provided you want to achieve your goal  in the set time. 

However,  consider a successful network marketing business that grows well:

After a starting phase your organization will grow continuously. That means change is happening on a regular basis. And of course new team partners will connect with you likely on a daily basis. That is good as you don’t want to be one of those leaders who are aloof and not willing to speak to the team unless they contact you according to the set procedure of going through the hierarchy.

You want to be a leader who is there for the team and who is willing to connect and to nurture and support – a leader with a servant’s heart!

So what happens when you have a perfectly organized day – are you capable of shuffling your daily routines to that extent that people can connect with you on the phone or on the chat or is your set-up rigid and without space so that your team members need kind of a “written application” so that you give them an appointment some where distant which may bring them to a stand still in their efforts to design a good work routine for themselves?

Of course you need to make some schedule for calling in team members – you might be on a coaching call or a 3-way call with some other guys, yet having a couple of times a day which are designed to have team members call in, that would be a necessity. I say a couple of times as you might be having team members in many parts of the world, so that one timing might prove to be totally inadequate.

Most good network marketing companies today are open in many countries around the globe so a global approach is inevitable.

To facilitate this organized flexibility it might be an idea that you put your scheduled “call-in times” on your main hub – may this be your blog or a home page or your skype profile – as long as people know where to find it without effort it will be ok.

Such an approach is not only good for you, but it will also

  • set an example for your team and
  • that again will have a very beneficial effect on the co-operation of the entire team as well as on the flow of information,

In network marketing today public speaking is unavoidable.

Provided you really do it as a business  you will be having a group after a while. You will have to speak up in front of others – may it be in a conference call or at a personal meeting somewhere locally or if you are really successful at building your network marketing business you will be asked to speak at the convention of your company.

Of course when you consider public speaking there may well be a fear element inside you, however, practice is the key.

I came across an interesting story about horses. Some horses graze on the side of the railroad tracks, seemingly not minding or fearful when trains rush bye them. And then there are horses who fear even their own shadows. How come?

Well, the horses who apparently graze near the railway track  obviously have adapted – they overcame their fear by habit. Seemingly the grass tastes better by the railroad tracks, so by practicing grazing in spite of the trains, they faced their fears and overcame it.

The magic wand is practice practice and practice again. Practice by saying a few words here and there on calls, by speaking up in small more familiar groups until this constant practice will turn into habit and remove any lingering fear you have of public speaking. At times someone suggests practicing in front of a mirror – well, may be until you know what you want to say that may help, but it is not the same as speaking in front of an audience, YOUR audience.

Let’s assume you stand up in front of your team for the first time -  you certainly will be having will have a supportive audience, eager to hear what you have to say. You are their role model – they know the will have to do it sooner or later.

By the time you receive the honour of being asked to speak at the annual convention of your network marketing company you will have acquired enough practice that you will be able to speak there without a fear problem.

Start at once – practice makes perfect and the more practice you get the better you will be. In the process also observe other speakers and make notes of what you like about them and what not and this will help you too.

How to use keywords for better results and to even give you ideas for blogging is valuable input for everyone who blogs on a regular basis as a marketing strategy for building a network marketing business today successfully .

We have spoken as to how to find core keywords on which to focus so that the search properties of your blog will eventually get you to the first page of google for the search on that term.

There is another free too on google that will help you determine which additional words google crawlers would like in your blog so that it will be considered of value in your particular niche.

This particular program is called Google Sets.

When you go to that site and put in your strategic key words and a few more that fit in your niche you have a choice of clicking either “big set” or “small set”.

The big set will give you about 50 keywords that google considers as associated with your core keywords and accordingly with your topic. The small set gives you up to 15 of such words.

  • Of course it is wise to use a fair percentage of these words in your blogs. That way you optimize the likelihood of being considered an expert in your niche.
  • Don’t be put off by the time required for doing your keyword research well. It is certainly worth while the effort.

There is a lot more detail to this information which certainly exceeds the volume of a blog, but at least you have a general idea of how to proceed. Keyword Search

We all know that in order to  be found on the internet by people who are typing in keywords, we need to find the right keywords for our niche so that we end up in the forefront – best of all page 1 of google.

When I first considered this concept I thought it would be a hopeless case, but it works.

  • First you need to think of a number of keywords which you might be using to search for information about your niche. Once you have them you need to establish which of them are the best to be used in your blog on a consistent basis.
  • There is a free Google Tool where you can enter your keyword or keyword phrase in a box, you can select the region where you want to search – I use worldwide, and you select the language, put in the captchas and click search.

Using the free google tool you will get 100 answers you will see how often your keyword is put in by someone. Ideally your keyword should be in a range of 300 – 1500, I found. If it is not you need to sort the 100 key words the tool gave you by search number and that gives you the chance to get ideas which keywords that google associates with yours, will be in this range – proceed to check all your keywords and in the process you will find 2 or 3 keywords you might want to use on a consistent basis.

However, there is a second step which you have to do in this process. Once you have a keyword which might fit the search criteria you need to make a search for it in google. See how many “answers” show up. Next you put quotation marks around your keyword – like “keyword search” and search again. The number of replies should drop down. Ideally to 5000 – 10 000 – that is the competition you are facing for your exact phrase.

Communication skills are an absolute MUST in network marketing today. After all  you are working with people from many different walks of life.

Unless you have a good grasp of how to interact your success in building your network marketing business will be down at zero.

First of all you need to meet people where they actually are and you do not want to create a situation where confrontation is the first result you trigger. You want a smooth discussion with mutual understanding so that you lay the basis for work.

Some points to help you  start out:

  • Pay attention to the situation as it develops
  • Hear what  the person is saying and show respect
  • Keep your enthusiasm in check – less may well be more
  • Stay calm and don’t be pushy
  • Listen to what the person is saying
  • Guide  them so that they reach their conclusions themselves

Paying attention to what a person is saying or how they act as per body language will give you a clue if that person is comfortable in your company and in the conversation or if the time is right for them to enter into a deeper conversation.

When you hear and recognise what somebody is saying you get some information that will help you in your argument and that person feels lifted up as a result of your interest.

When you pour all your enthusiasm about your business opportunity over them they will likely pull back as in most cases people are uninformed about network marketing today or perhaps even have a biased opinion which needs to be dispersed.

A calm conversation without pushiness or rash arguments will help open up your partner in conversation and they will feel “normal” and be less on guard. Many people have had too many experiences of the other kind which they didn’t like at all.

When you listen without an agenda you will be able to find out the reason why somebody is looking for a business – their goals they want to achieve

People have to come to their own conclusions – if you try to convince them you set them up for opposition as a rule. People do not want to be persuaded or even brainwashed – so show the facts and let them draw their own conclusions.

This summary is just the tip of the ice-berg when it comes to communication skills – this applies not only for network marketing today but also for every other situation in life where discussions, conversations or even negotiations need to be conducted between people.

Make a Vision Board !

You are not sure how to make a vision board?

  • One that actually works?
  • One that helps you manifest your dreams, your visions?
  • One that will speed up the process of achieving your goals?

Do you wonder what to put on such a board that your dreams come to life?

This is really easy. Simply put anything on it which reminds you of your dream, of your vision. Making a vision board is an anchor to continuously reminding you of your vision, your goal. It is important that you place it somewhere where you constantly see it – consciously and also subconsciously. It is the constant input and the emotions it creates in you that will “create” and draw your vision into life.

If your big dream is to retire early on a residual income then make a graphic of your network marketing organisation and put it up. Put in the pictures of the key people you already have in place – if you are just starting, make precise descriptions of the people you want to attract. You will be surprised how it works!

  • There may be some vision boards which get a bit crammed at times. It may be an idea to clear yours up once in a while and structure it so that you have your priorities set well.
  • Making a vision board is a personal experience – you need to work with it and amend it as you grow as a person. Have your priorities there, so that the goals are clear and obvious, and add some details that might be important for the “journey” to get there. Don’t put several layers of information on – only what you can see straight on.
  • As an alternative you might be making one board per goal, especially if the goals are very different from each other and not leading to one end. Which ever way you choose to go – make sure it makes you feel good and you have fun preparing them.

Making a vision board is a very effective and useful tool to achieve your dreams your goals – not only for having success at building your network marketing business today, but for for every other business and personal venture too. Use this tool for your success!

There are only 5 steps – but still there is much to know about them – and it is only the tip of the “ice-berg”

 

4. Sponsoring.

“Sponsoring” – it’s always good once in a while to go into the dictionary and check out a word – even if we think we  know it’s exact meaning. “Support, help” -  that’s why  I take that word differently than most people.

I have YOUR success at heart!

When I sponsor you, I am your sponsor for life. I’m 61 years young and in 40 years or so, I’ll be going to your funeral, or you’ll be going to mine.  You and I will be in business for the rest of our lives.

You need to choose the people you want to be in business with!  My upline mentor keeps saying, "Only sponsor people that you’d want to go on a 1-month cruise with." This is so crucial – choose your business partners for life well. I said the other day – “choose a company with as much care as if you were choosing a spouse. Very much the same applies to your business partner!

 

5. Training.

The sheer fact that formal education is missing for network marketing it is still an absolute necessity to teach, train, coach and mentor you bring in so that they have the best possible knowledge on how to do network marketing today!

A team website and a step-by-step action plan come in handy as you have got  to train them. Most people need  a reference where they can update what they have heard and repeat it again and again.

To build a network marketing business successfully to day you need the skills which will let you do so. It will not help you to study your product details.Most people don’t want to be sold anyways.

Instead “study people”. Learn to apply the personality colours. Learn how to listen to people – never forget we have two ears and only one mouth! These are the skills that help you move on in business so that you will reach your dreams.

You teach them to deal with their prospects as you have just dealt with them and the cycle repeats itself.

It is like a ring: Step 1 flows smoothly into Step 2. Step 2 into Step 3. Step 3 into Step 4. Step 4 into Step 5. And step 5 into Step 1.  There is no edge and no end.

There is nothing to hinder the prospect in moving forward. Keep working on yourself and help them to do the same.

To be long-term successful, you need to have such a smooth marketing system for your business.  I love the one I use because it is complete and offers total training in the skills of working with people. Everyone can get better and better‚

When everyone is using the same system it is much easier for you to help them -  you increase your experience, so do they,  and the cycles moves up and up, creating success in network marketing today for all who co-operate.

2. Automated prospect follow-up.

Following up with people on your list is one of the secrets in network marketing today. Life today is so incredibly busy for everyone. Therefore setting up automatic follow up emails to prospects is an ideal solution. It is best if the are written by a professional copywriter who knows what he is doing, how to answer questions and create a relationship in print. You want your automatic follow-up emails to establish a relationship with ad copy.

You have to have a system in place that does  follow-up with people on autopilot. You’d be doing nothing else otherwise. After all you might be on vacation or even better, on a company-sponsored and paid-for, one week trip to Italy!

Follow up has to be done with an automatic system.

3. One-on-one relationship building.

It is the probably most important sponsoring secret in network marketing today that network marketing is a relationship business. You sponsor people one at a time and you bring them into your business one at a time.

To make this work for you, you need to build relationships with your prospects, one at a time – no way around it, no short-cuts, etc..

On the internet you see y lot of hype: sponsor, sponsor, sponsor or recruit, recruit, recruit, as a rule they are promoting some kind of downline generating system. I was there when I started on the internet – 800 people in my downline and no results. Why? There’s no relationship between you and them. There wasn’t even a chance to pick up contact with any of them -  some even had fake details!

For building a successful network marketing business to day you need to build relationships with your people.

This step is so important that we are constantly training people to do it. We even have a live, generic "relationship-building" training calls every week where people can join in. No company or product is EVER mentioned on any of these calls.

To achieve success in network marketing today  a system has to have 5 basic steps:

  1. Targeted lead generation
  2. Automated prospect follow-up
  3. One-on-one relationship building
  4. Sponsoring and
  5. Training

Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

If these points are not taken care of by the group you are working with or your upline, you have to set them up yourself. But of course it’s a lot easier to work with people who understand these MLM sponsoring secrets and already have a tested system in place.

I am happy to say that I use a system that has all of this in place, so I can specify on the individual points.

1. Targeted lead generation.

You will agree that people who want to go into network marketing are driven by a dream, a vision of where they want to be in life. Since it seems to be beyond anyone’s reach “to make somebody dream” you need to talk to people who already have a dreams, a vision and are striving for success.

It wont be those who are happy to put their feet up and watch TV, crunch pop corn and discuss sports and politics. Leave them there, they are also part of this world.

Talk to people who have their dreams and visions in place. They will build their network marketing business business as they want to change their lives. Target those people. You will love working with them as they are coachable and focused. Working with those targeted people will create massive duplication and your business will grow.

How do you find them?

You need a lead generation system which is designed to bring in qualified people. Readers are far more likely to have long-term success in network marketing.  After all they need to be willing to learn! How would they do it otherwise?

You get there if you promote a website that is designed to capture contact information. Do your best to make your visitors an offer they cannot refuse. As leaders are readers. I offer a free e-book – if they want it they need to leave their details.

Duplication – the magic word in network marketing today.

What is duplication – it is copying what others do successfully.

Duplication has to be simple, however, the steps that are repeated have to be valid and they have to work.

Not everybody who starts building a network marketing business is capable of speaking with other people as a matter of routine. For many this part of the business is pure stress. Mind you eventually everyone learns it, but this is part of the personal development that happens when you do this business on a constant basis.

Let’s look at duplication – what are the questions a prospect may ask:

  1. Can I do this?
  2. Can I make money doing this?
  3. Can you help me?

To  have a positive reply to the first point the system that is used has to be simple. Your prospect needs to realise that he will be able to do it very well.

I use the book “Success in 10 Steps” by Michael Dlouhy – I let people read it. Most people can imagine themselves doing this – giving somebody a book to read.

Reading the book and  going through the following steps of the training people learn what to look for in a company so that they will be making money.

Once prospects have gone through the basics of this system they have no doubt that they are getting valid help.

If you can offer People such a simple system, network marketing suddenly becomes attractive. Struggles they had before appear in the right light. People realise that their lack of success was not their fault, but that they simply lacked training and a system to follow. Once they have both success in network marketing is attainable.

In network marketing today you are building a business for a life-time and longer. So why would you want to persuade someone  to come along who has no personal inclination to do something or to change his situation in life.

You want to work with people whom you have an excellent resonance with and who are “all in “ as far as business is concerned.

Your marketing has to be targeted to the people who know what they want in life, who have a vision and the drive to achieve it! The volunteers!

A good target group are people who already are in network marketing. they are pre-sold. They show it to you through the fact that they have already tried to do something, that they are searching, that they want to make a change in their circumstances and that they are prepared to “move”.

It is wise to connect with this target group – build relationships and friendships and help them on with what ever questions they may be having or what ever their struggles might be in their business.

Among those with whom you connect there will be some who are actually looking for the right business to settle down with. They either have just arrived at the conclusion that network marketing is exactly what they are looking for and they are overwhelmed with the amount of companies out there that are seemingly potential partners.

This is the first topic where you can be of immense help as very few people actually know what to look for and what to watch out for. My last series on the 5 pillars goes into this topic.

Then of  course there are those who have been struggling in this industry for ages. Connecting with them it is fairly easy to find out if their struggle is the result of doing nothing or of simply doing the wrong things or perhaps of being in a company where failure is “part of the program” so to speak.

A System for Success!

Pillar 5

A Proven System that will Work for YOU.

Network Marketing today requires a lot of work. Therefore it is a MUST  that the team you join has a system that will work for everyone. People come from so many different walks of life!

The system needs to provide training, books, videos, audios and needs to teach the system, as there are constantly new people who need to get to know it and who need to be able to use it. The more people you sponsor into your team the less you’ll be able to train them only one on one.

You need to be able to learn the required skills for building your business from the system and you need to take responsibility for it. Nobody can learn it but YOU.

In a good system you will be able to connect with all the leaders for upline advice. It make take a while till you  can operate the system successfully – nobody can read by only learning the alphabet.  
As with everything in line you need to take the learning curve and be patient and persistent.  

A good system should also have a focus on personal development.  Network marketing today is a relationship business and for building a network marketing business successfully you need to become the person who you customers and prospects want to follow as a leader.

The more aware you are of yourself as a person the better you will be able to relate with people. You will be able to meet people where they are in their lives and help them on.

 

A system should not request you to:

  • MAKE A LIST OF YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
  • BUY LEADS. 
    (Purchased leads require salesmanship. These methods do not work anymore. 
    90% of the population don’t like being in sales and most people don’t even like being sold!)

Summing up there is to be said, that checking a MLM company according to the 5 pillars makes absolute sense and it will spare you a lot of trouble, It puts you in a place where you can definitely say you will be able to have success in network marketing today and that is what most people actually want.

Where is the Money?

Pillar 4

Does the  compensation plan pay part-timers?

Seeing that network marketing by now is 60+ years old some general statistics are available of course. Therefore I can safely say, that 95% of all networkers are pert-time people.

With this in mind it is obvious that a compensation plan needs to provide an income for these people or attrition will be booming.

The money for the paid out commissions of course has to come from turning products, which regulates the possible payout. When a company is advertising big how many millionaires they have created – have a close look if this was not done on the back of the part-time people.

The people at the bottom should never be the donkey on which the big ones ride to their success!

When you investigate a compensation plan, ask yourself the question: how many people do I need to consistently make $ 500 a month. The span you find out there is between 500 and only 20. Some well established companies will have compensation plans where you need between 150 to 350 people – and yet they manage to attract new people – they must be “in love” with the product!  They are still able attract new distributors – Amazing!  They must be sold on the product!

Ask your upline how many people you will need in your company – they don’t know? Well that might be an incentive to RUN!

When the commission you are making on the product is something like 5 – 8%, then you are really underpaid!

The bigger part of your commissions need to come from products being sold to end consumers. You don’t want to be in a scam – correct?

Also here there are more points that are worth while being discussed. Just ask!

Make sure you investigate what you are doing, after all you want to have success in network marketing today, you want to build a long-term business which will not only pay you but also your children and grand children. And a point that is important now and long-term:

You want to maintain your credibility!

The Pillars are Interconnected!

Let’s check:

Pillar number 3

We already asked – is the product part of an “upward trend”?

In addition the Product also needs to be reasonably priced in the market.

All network marketing  companies have good products and consequently the product you are wanting needs to be competitively priced .

A plan which offers you a whole sale price and a retail price is a plan which is based on “recruit, recruit, recruit…” – unless you are RED you are having a tough time to succeed in such a model.

The next question you need to ask yourself – would the product sell if there was no commission plan attached to it? Literally speaking this means will you be able to actually build a customer base? If  this point applies, the opportunity is illegal.

If you cannot pay by credit card but only cash or per money order – illegal again!

If the distributors collect the money and not the company – illegal!

If you MUST have a Retail Merchant’s account – caution – the company is scamming your!

There is an easy way to find out if the price of the product is ok – go on ebay and check if the product is sold there “under priced” – this indicates that the distributors are unable to sell it – stay away!

If it takes you a long while to talk somebody into the product you become a sales person and who wants to be sold?

ATTENTION: Network Marketing is a relationships business not a sales business! 

You see many points have to be considered for checking out pillar number 3. If you are “in love” with the product of your company, you may not be level headed enough to actually acknowledge some of these points.

If you simply want the product, forget any consideration.

However, if you actually want to have success in network marketing, then you need to consider and make decisions!

Pillar Number 2

Is the company a start-up company or even worse a “pre-launch” company – or has it passed the “early failure” time line?

Which products does the company  offer? Are they in tune with the beginning of a massive consumer trend?

What do I mean with this – products appear and disappear and this cycle is driven by consumer demand. In the days of the “baby boomers”  baby clothes and shoes, later toys for small children were big business  – 20 years later there was the huge real estate boom – look at real estate now.

You need to have a product which is on the rising scale of demand. That is the only way to build a business with a “chance for everyone” who does the work. Outside of these periods the same products will require marketing sales experts to be turned.

And as said above – don’t go into start-up or pre-launch opportunities. Most companies don’t last even two years and the average distributor needs a 2 year learning curve before he starts making money – see what I  mean? So make sure the  company you join is at least 2 years old.

Another “rather not” are companies who have passed their prime time who have become rhinos. The big growth potential is gone there and if you actually want to  have success in building a network marketing business today you are minimizing your chances!

Therefore it is no surprise that the 5 pillars have become a representation of value for a network company today.

I have given a general overview about "A Solid Company", listing the 5 pillars, in a previous blog so let’s this time go into a bit more details what the 5 pillars are all about when it comes to success in network marketing today. Mind you for in-depth training on this topic you will have to go through our training.

Let’s discuss the first pillar here:

Company Management:

There is no doubt that the management of a company is a really important point – however, what do you have to look for in a company management?

Well, most important of all: does the company management have personal experience building their own networking organization and have they done it with integrity?

Why is this so important? I give you a picture: “Would you ask a lawyer to fix the brakes of your car?” – No – the lawyer is a highly trained expert and should know what he is doing? No? You’d never? Why are you against this idea? Of course the lawyer is an expert in legal matters and not in car repair! Can you see my point? In very much the same manner you need experts at network marketing run a network marketing company today.

Having made this basic requirement clear, let’s investigate “have they done it with integrity”?

Search Google for the owners of the company and see who they are, what their “story” is. Look back in their lives and you might even want to add the word ‘Scam’ to your search. The level of integrity is the goal of this search, and of course if they have personal experience at building a network marketing organisation from scratch.

The legal background, your policies and procedures also goes into this investigation with many topics, the overall one being – does the contact protect you or the company?

Another hot context in the basic legal set-up of a network marketing company is:

”If a company is publicly traded, Financial Decisions Will be made in Favor of the Stockholders at the Expense of the Distributors”.

There is lots of legal language involved in this investigation and you might want support in investigating this topic – this blog is simply to alert you about this topic.

Don’t Make  a List of Family and Friends!

I know – I know – there are many around who want you to do just this.

Why do I claim it makes no sense:

Look around – most kids know already when they are still attending school which profession they want to do  next. Some want to be teachers, others hairdressers, boys might want to become pilots, farmers or hunters – so many jobs around.

So why would anyone who wants to be a teacher fancy to be on your network marketing list? Or a surgeon who chose this as a vocation, or in fact anyone who chose a job out of their free will. Do you understand why they will avoid you like bad money if you keep offering your network marketing business to them?

Basically there are only about 20 % of the population who actually want to run their own business and among those you have many trades. So only a fraction of all people will be “potential” for network marketing.

As it is in network marketing today, the major percentage of people are struggling – mostly because old belief systems, like “you need to make a list of family and friends” keep being around and newcomers keep buying into it and stepping into the circle of failure of none of their fault. It is time to stop this folly and establish a valid training for network marketer that will eventually change the entire face of this industry by leading more and more people to success in building a network marketing business.

Once you are trained adequately you can stretch out your hand and help other struggling network marketers learn what you have learned and success in network marketing today will be your reward.

Don’t Give Away Your Power – Be Yourself!

Another big mistake people make in network marketing and especially online – they follow a Guru.

It doesn’t meet the idea of network marketing. This business is all about YOU and the people YOU help and support. Like this tree at the side you need to be anchored with solid roots/convictions/trust/faith and  nothing and nobody will be able to shake you.

Misunderstood attraction marketing is fatal. The moment you give away your power the moment you are not attractive to people who you would want to be in business with or even sharing a 3 month’s cruise somewhere nice.

To harp again on the topic of personal development, be yourself – work on yourself and become the person you want to be, the person who is a leader who helps others succeed. Connect personally with the people who you attract, ask them how you can help them in building their business. The more you help the more success you will be having.

This is the key to having success in network marketing today.

The internet is just a tool, a “catalyst” that helps us meeting the right people.

In the previous posted we have started to speak about NOs in network marketing today, especially when doing it on line.

Another very tempting place on line are the multitude of social networks which are  the perfect place for meeting people all over the world. But even if you work a network marketing business which doesn’t permit you global expansion, social networks will be a great place for meeting people and making friends.

Yes! Meeting People and Making Friends!

When you jump into social network sites like Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter it seems like people have not a clue what to do.  Lots of the unsuitable messaging which is done is the result of observing what others are doing. There is massive pitching going on messages like: "Join me in my most recent MLM pre-launch opportunity" or "Come and buy my Renegade network marketing product".

This is the safest way to turn people off. As said above – social networks are about being sociable and friendly with people, helping them on where they have not a clue what to do, giving them a hint if they pitch badly as newcomers – most have been there at some stage and why a should everyone have to make the same mistakes over?

There are many who struggle with having success in their network marketing business. Help them. It helps the reputation of the entire community.

The NOs in network marketing today cannot be mentioned often enough – preferably in various ways as different people will “see” different ways of presenting things.

Human desire for success, for a fulfilled and easy life has become more pronounced over the last decades and the idea of network marketing fits this desire.

Unfortunately it is those who are lottery minded who jump at new things quickly as they are on a constant quest to find “their get rich quick” deal.

As a result all sorts of bad behaviour has developed in this industry and a lot of it on the internet, as all it takes is a bit of IT knowledge to knock up a site and make big promises. Few people are able to look behind it as critical thinkers.

Taking your MLM business to the internet has become the hype of our days. And thousands of fortune hunters are in the scene too. If you just arrive at the internet believing you can figure it out by watching others you will end up in big frustration, as it is not those who work seriously who fill the hype-pages it is those who want to dump their “get rich quick” scheme on you who you will meet up first. Let me therefore show up one of the biggest mistakes you can make taking your network marketing business on line.

Don’t jump into any of the affiliate tools which are promoted as supposedly supporting you in building your business. There are tons of so-called systems out there and you can make some money with them. The question you need to ask yourself is – do you want to make some money by promoting some system, or do I want to create wealth, which is one of the reasons why people go into  network marketing. If your decision is creating wealth then you need to build your own list of prospects, who opt in to you and with whom you build a relationship that will be the basis for a long-term business partnership. So you need an “opt-in” feature  to find leads and you need an auto-responder for professional follow up. This is easy, but not as easy for many, as these systems of course have to be set up properly, the follow up scripts have to be written and some servicing may be required – so it is a lot of work and the cost factor needs to be considered too. The slogan which you find very often is “Knowledge is Power” – this is not true!

Applied Knowledge Is Power

You can learn and study all your life – unless you take that knowledge into action, into creativity, nothing will come of it.

Just imagine – filling a watering can with water – at some stage it  will be full and will overflow. Unless you lift that can up and take it somewhere where you can pour the water onto a seeded area or to plants, the benefit of filling the watering will be lost. It may be even contra productive as it may provide humidity for weeds!

Or you can learn the best recipes in the process of becoming a chef – unless you cook them and have people eat them nobody will benefit from the effort of your learning.

The best way of learning is “learn – apply”, go to the next step and again “learn – apply” … . Doing it step by step you automatically will fall into a pattern which resembles “plan – do – review – adjust” with the simple exception that the first stage is “learn”.

The results you will be getting will be extraordinary as you will always be close to real life. Especially in network marketing this is a necessity as every learning step involves people which makes practical experience twice as important as in many other professions. Your success will be directly connected with it.

The entire life is a learning process and once we accept it we can always follow this pattern and as a result will learn lots of things which will enrich us on many levels.

Headlines are part of communication and communication can be good and rejection free or it may scratch the people you  talk to.

Why Commitment?

No matter where we are or what we do in life we are bound to be meeting up with some obstacles.

The topic which needs to be ventilated is the relationship between a vision and commitment.

A vision in life is the driving force in life. It can be strong and compelling and it can be vague.

Most people start working towards their vision at some stage in their lives, however only those who make a full commitment to go for it will eventually achieve their dreams.

Let me give you an example. Bill has a normal job. He is ok with his work and he and his family can pay their bills. As far as extras are concerned, like having a nice holiday somewhere, a better school for their children they have to compromise. Their decision in a way was conditioned by the programming they had received  from home. The make themselves subconsciously believe that all is well and they are content – and it is ok.

But there is Bills friend, Josh. He has a similar background as Bill, but somehow all his life he had a vision. A vision of freedom, spending time with his family, following his favourite hobby and making nice trips to get to know the world. He  also works  and gets bye with his family, but he is at the same time looking round as to finding a “vehicle” which would permit him to achieve his dream.

And this is it – Josh is the kind of person who will be an ideal prospect for a network marketing business. He will be ready to learn and do all he is taught and he will be in it with commitment. This commitment to success will help him over hard times  when people will criticize him or make fun of him for what he is doing. He won’t mind, he will have his vision before him and his commitment to reach his dreams.

So WHAT if not network marketing today? Is there an option if you have a vision in life?

I give you a number of examples:                              image

A JOB – “J ust O ver B roke” – working 40 hours per week for 40 years …

A Business – being tied to a loan – what you make in the first 10 years may just be enough for covering the loan and not much more? Look at the rate at which businesses are closing down – and what happens with the loan?

Being an artist or any self-employed high trained professional  like lawyers, etc, – in all of these cases you exchange work/time for money and to earn again the same needs to take place all the time – sure there may be employees – they also need their pay and the rat race goes on. 

Ok – you will say network marketers  go out of business too – yes, they do as of any other business or job too – but there is no risk – no loan that remains.

I have discussed in some previous posts all sorts of issues which need to be solved when getting into a network marketing business – provided this is done you are safe. Strangely enough people will do proper investigations with conventional business – my guess is – they wouldn’t get a loan without a proper business plan! Banks know that a business only has a chance to work when there is a proper business plan!

The big advantage in network marketing – you can build. Yes, you can build – like building a house you can add one piece to the next and over time create a solid residual income that will be stable and set you free.

After that you  – may be – work, as you love what you are doing – it becomes very fascinating and rewarding to see people we mentor grow, having success and start owning their lives. However, there is never that MUST that drives you that MUST as you need to earn money.

It will be a vocation, it will be fun, it will be worth while, to liberate more and more people by leading them to success in network marketing today.

To be successful in building your network marketing business today you need a constant flow of leads which have opted into your offer. This is the only legal way to do it.

In order to achieve this online you need a technical back ground, a system, which has all the features compiled that are required for this purpose. Capture pages with opt in, data base where all the data of the people who opt in are collected, auto-responder, electronic diary, etc.

Most people will not be able to set all this up and make it functional so there are many offers out there and people advertising them in the brightest colours.

I am not the “techie” girl so specific techie information is not my domain, but I want to show up one important factor:

Read the small print of what ever you intend to use and see who owns the data base!

You might want to go elsewhere for some techie or other reasons – what happens with the leads you have collected with the system the used – do they belong to you? Can you export them, then remove them from that system as they belong to you? Or will the database remain with whoever created the system? Mind you – of course you may find means to have all the names and use them, but if the collected information was sold by the owners of the data base to earn extra money?

Or let’s go an other route – you might run into a money problem and not be able to pay your fee – does that mean that all your data are gone and you need to start over -  or will the data be kept and once you pay your fee again the data will be still there waiting for you?

Are the data safe from being hacked?

Branding has become THE topic when speaking of marketing online. Mind  you this applies to all types of business, however how branding should be done best will vary from business to business.

In network marketing today branding is a MUST. Look around – most people try to do it one way or other – all sorts of methods are applied.

You will see people who use the brand of the product they are having, others use the company logo and more and more understand that branding yourself is the way to go.

Let us investigate why:

you use the product for branding – what happens if the product is changed, changes label or gets competition?

you use the company logo (if permitted at all) – what happens if the company goes belly up or you decide to go elsewhere for which ever reason?

Your network marketing company may decide to “dispense” with you as you earn too much money…….

Any effort spent on this kind of branding will be lost if things change!

Brand YOURSELF – you are the head of your business and  which ever company you co-operate with is your supplier – those who provide the product and who pay you for volume you create. It is that simple.

Not only in network marketing this is the way to go when you run your own company. You may have a sales agency – same thing applies – also there you “sell yourself” you gain a reputation for the service you provide, for the quality you choose to represent.

In each case it is YOU who creates the relationships with others – business partners or customers and people are reluctant to change, especially when they like you and they are satisfied with what you provide for them

Therefore: Brand Yourself!

Traps are not obvious!

If they were nobody would fall into them! This is common sense and yet it seems not so generally known when it comes to building a network marketing business today. Probably it wasn’t more obvious in any other period but today there is more information around as to which traps are around which might stop you from having success in building your network marketing business.

Trap no. 1

Falling in love with a company no matter what

Trap no. 2

Having no clue how much people it will take to build a 10k residual income

Trap no. 3

Is the system your mentor offers you working for YOU or for him

Trap no. 4

Were you actually told to buy leads? Ask yourself – who benefits from it!

Trap no. 5

Are the products being found on eBay cheaper than you can ever buy them?

These are only a few samples as to which traps there might be around – and none of them looks like a trap at first sight!

In network marketing today there are answers to all these topics. Your first focus needs to be to find people who will tell you the truth even if you might not like it. In order to be successful in building a network marketing business you need to act like somebody who is starting a business – you need to act like a critical thinker and not be taken in.

A Solid Company?

So – Where to Start?

This is a complex and delicate topic. Below I will list  the criteria which you certainly need to check out when choosing the network marketing company you plan to base your life on. You need to match facts which cannot be overlooked with the trust you might have in the person who presented which ever company to you.

Lots of people are too trusting, have too little background knowledge or training, and decide to join a network marketing business because they are enthusiastic about it or the perspective that they finally might own their lives. Enthusiasm often covers up rational evaluations until  the mischief arises.

What to check out when investigating a company:

1.  Company Management: do they have personal experience building their own network marketing organization and have they done it with Integrity?

2.  Time Line: is the company over their first years “childhood diseases”?  Are the products of the company in tune with the beginning of a massive trend of consumer demand?

3.  Does the company have a remarkable product at a reasonable price – excellent price/performance ratio?

4.  Does the compensation plan pay part-time people adequately for their efforts?

5.  Can your mentor offer you a system which you can duplicate as well as the people you bring in, etc…?

These are the core points that should be investigated for sure to make sure success will be possible. There are quite a number of additional points which do have an impact on your success in a network marketing business, which, however need to be discussed from case to case.

Network Marketing Today

For some strange reason the necessity of skills for success in network marketing has not become established yet.

In any other job, profession, trade it is considered normal that solid training is required. Nobody would dream of becoming a lock smith without learning it, or a teacher with out going to college, or a doctor without studying medicine, or a lawyer or anything else. Most of them have to go through additional training once they have finished the basic course.

So why on earth would anyone “think” they could do network marketing anyways?

Yea – I know – most people are aware of the fact that they are giving recommendations from the time onwards when they can speak – but that’s only part of it.

Very much like a person who has a high musical talent still has to practise playing the piano or in fact any other instrument to become really proficient, a person who wants to go into network marketing and do more than just “dabble around” needs to go through some solid training to really make it in network marketing today. It’s always been that way but today with so much internet technology being part of business activities apart from the person to person skills of communication and more, acquiring skills has become an absolute MUST:

Skills: personal development of self and helping others with it, knowing how to choose a business, lead generation (handling internet sites, social networks, blogging, advertising and a lot more), connecting with the leads in a way that a good percentage become business partners, …. the list is ongoing.

 Attention!

Not all training on the internet meets the required standards – so watch out, choose well, don’t let yourself be ripped off!

Planning? Of course! Network marketing is a business as any other!

In the last few posts we have talked a bit about the importance of personal development so let’s skip that now.

What is the most important asset in a network marketing business? It’s your prospects. So how about “planning” your prospects. No this is not a joke.

Part of your planning has to be, to determine what sort of prospect you want to attract. The more detail you give this thought the better.

There are those who simply say – I want my prospects to be like me or like… – that’s easy if you have references like that.

However seeing it long-term, as network marketing is a long-term business and should be designed to pay not only you but also your children and even your grand children, a blending of a number of different qualities might prove a definite bonus for team building.

In network marketing today, where knowledge about the personality colours is not a secret, we are very much aware that people who match different colours, have different strengths and weaknesses.

Let’s give network marketing an overview:

you need those who are good at sponsoring, others who are good at training the team and giving support, but you also need products to be turned and you need to have those who know precisely how a commission plan is used best to maximize profits. And of course you don’t want the business to be totally boring but fun, with new people being attracted all the time as things are “on the move”.

You see – when you really give “planning your prospects” a closer thought there is work to be done in the workshop of your mind, the center of your imagination where your thoughts eventually are blended with passion so that they can materialise!

image Network marketing today is done more and more by using the internet. The world has shrunk and most companies expand into various parts of the world. So it seems obvious to find means and ways to find people elsewhere than around your home to build a successful international business.

However, using the internet successfully for building a network marketing business is not easy – it certainly needs some basic training.

Lots of training is available and when you arrive at the internet you obviously start browsing and finding all sorts of offers for training one way or other. It takes a while  before you realise that lots of it is skillful “up-selling”  and actually not training. Sites that keep giving you bits of information only to offer you the next book, tape, program or whatever for “only so and so much” without ever getting to the point of really providing information are rip-offs, no more.

In the effort to connect with others social sites and first of all Facebook,  have become the target sites of millions of people who are looking for success online.  

Facebook has become so complex – not only as far as possibilities is concerned, but also as far a methods of posting goes – morning evening, weekday, text, pictures, etc….. Evaluations are being made all the time how to best write, post, do to get the maximum results from the time and effort spent.

Read yourself some Facebook insights which will for sure be very interesting and might even change your timing and habits on this site.

Unlock Your Intuition By Being Positive

Being positive is one of the most propagated things in network marketing today. It was integrated as part of a relaxed life-style to start with  and  of course it is years now that the law of attraction is open knowledge.

Being positive and fear are antagonists – they cannot exist in the same place. Why? let me give you a picture – it is the same that you cannot walk up and down a hill at the same time – you have to decide: do I want to go  up or do I want to go down – otherwise you stay  in the same spot. Mind you there are plenty of people around who kind of “run in the mouse wheel” – they run and run and get tired, even exhausted for all the running they do, yet they stay in the same spot not even realising.

Fear is a state of mind which closes you down. In a situation where fear is present intuition cannot kick in. You are paralysed so to speak. So how can anyone make proper decisions in life or even in business in such a state. I someone  who is in fear decides to do a network marketing business he is likely to listen to all those alluring offers of people who sell leads or practice other rip offs in disguise.

To be able to have success in network marketing and elsewhere you have to have a clear head, be positive and open for what life has in store for you. Ongoing personal development work, best within a like-minded mastermind group will put you into this place. In this process, once the fear is gone, gut feeling – intuition will kick in. At first you perhaps may not be consciously aware of it but if you are willing to move forward it won’t take long and you will cherish these feelings as valuable input. In fact it is our link to infinite intelligence!

Be positive! It unlocks your intuition. Start listening to it and learn the required skills in this positive mind set. Even learning the skills will give different results, as you see them from a different perspective. This is the power package which will put you on your road to success in network marketing today.

Left brain, right brain, gut, intuition – all sorts of discussions are going on.

In our society the left brain is the clear favourite. Think of how learning at school is structured – facts and figures are the top topics.  Creative work (right brain) is mostly more play than considered seriously.

Of course we need to use our logic (left brain) – skills need to be acquired and honed.  However, in network marketing, as everywhere else mastering of a set of skills is required for success.

A while back I read a publication in a newspaper – they had interviewed managers to find out how they make their decisions and the result was surprising – most of them clearly stated that gut feeling, intuition played an important role!

If intuition, using of the right brain, is important even in normal business – you can imagine that it is a real necessity in network marketing. Men and women have a different approach to intuition.  Men are having a lot harder time talking about intuition or their feelings yet are willing to connect with the gut. Women are a lot more relaxed and open on these issues. In a way this gives women a bit of a head start in network marketing. In network marketing today it is accepted that building a network marketing business needs intuition. Handling of people needs intuition.

Our school system doesn’t prepare us for this kind of challenge. It is Mathematics, English, Science – the left brain, which is trained on  all levels. However, when it comes to train our thinking capacity we need to activate and use your right brain,  intuition that is the key.

It is your intuition, the usage of the right brain which is the real gem when it comes to building something like a network marketing business. We’re not taught to trust it, but today fortunately  there is enough material available on the internet and I even found a free  class which is designed to help you develop as a person and one major aspect of this is to develop your right brain, your intuition, your gut.

You may wonder why I connect network marketing and gut feeling. The reply is very simple. Network marketing is a peoples business and especially when you work with people your gut feeling is indispensible.

This does not only  apply for “sensing” who you want to connect with and who not. It is also important, and that is the first priority, to determine who you are.

Working on your self worth and intuition or gut feeling are connected and interactive. You may wonder where your intuition is coming from – does it come from inside or from outside of you? Do you connect with it at all? For some gut feeling belongs in the realm of superstition but more and more people realise that listening to the gut feeling can be very helpful, even sharp.

Napoleon Hills says again and again that intuition, gut feeling is one way how infinite intelligence connects and gives us input. Considering gut feeling from that angle it is the highest wisdom we can follow.

In the old days gut feeling was normal. Our ancestors relied on their intuition and way back reading subtle energy patterns was part of survival strategies. They were connected to animals and nature – only look at the many stories you will be able to find where the weather, for instance, is connected to animal behaviour, such as: “the ants go deep down into the ground – there will be a hard winter” and many others. 

In order to become really successful in network marketing start working more with your intuition, your gut feeling. Become who you really are. The magnetism you will be creating within yourself will attract whatever you need. Let it help you for creating your mastermind, bring people to you who are just designed as life long business partners and lots more.  Be relaxed when your gut tells you to “do something different”!  The law of attraction works.

To sum up – work on your personal development, trust your gut, your intuition, connect with your mastermind group, work with people on your heart level, which is the centre of your “magnetism”. When you act from your heart your communication will be “heart felt” and your results in network marketing will become incredible.

This is the great difference of network marketing today and all sorts of old, even outdated business building techniques. This is the first part of a number of posts that will follow to this topic.

In this book, The Slight Edge, Jeff Olson shows in a very humorous way, that little actions on a daily basis will make a critical difference over time.

For example – drink 8 glasses of water every day. Is this easy to do? Is it easy not to do? Will it make a difference after 1 day? Will it harm you if you don’t do it 1 day?

Many other basic actions are described and in each case the same questions will draw  the same replies. But in each case it is obvious that doing the same little thing over time it will make a huge difference in your life!
