Back in the 1980-ties when MLM first came to Austria I was immediately attracted. Of course nobody knew a thing about it and within no time the media were full of reports about „the new pyramid system“ that was intruding into the market.

Being a rational person I could easily make out that this business was no pyramid but a very clever mathematical commission concept designed to let the man in the street have a chance at creating an independent income.

I had joined a team who provided weekly meet-ups – mind you the internet had not yet surfaced for everyday use – so weekly meet-ups were good by way of training. It was there that I heard for the first time things like „you have to write down your why“ . It was a very unusual thought for me and I didn’t really know`what to think of it. However I observed people who did it and who actually wrote their „why“ down. Pretty soon they appeared on stage as people who had grown business wise and as a person and I was astonished to say the least.

I had no inclination to think about my why, as the reason for it seemed to be rather „phoney“ to me. I tried to learn how to deal with the products, how to give an excellent presentation and did a lot of work in that respect – I had turnover, but my business didn’t grow. I simply couldn’t understand it as I had done good work on all levels. There were these thoughts of feeling inferior for not having success and more. My sponsor kept on at me about my why and eventually I got so frustrated that I stopped going to meetings and did my turnover and no more. I knew something was missing in my approach but I still couldn’t connect it with my „why“.

Years later when I connected with another business and another group it suddenly hit me – my „why“, I realised, that was the missing link. I wrote down my why, did personal development work very much in line with what nowadays is covered by „the law of attraction“ and… I started on my success curve!

There is no need to get this aha moment the long way as I did – write down your why and if you need to be coached so that you actually manage to do so request help. There is no doubt that writing down your „why“ is a central point for success in network marketing – so even if it sounds as „phoney“ to you as it did to me in those days – jump through the hoop and do it!

Network Marketers Are Story Tellers

Author: FriekeKarlovits

Writing  articles is “story telling on paper” – well nowadays I rather guess on the internet!

Here we face a discrepancy – by far no all network marketers find they can write easily. So this is what I suggest – get your story telling going at the beginning when get to know your network marketing business from scrap. Create your extensive set of stories you tell people when you talk to them. Personal stories where people can connect!

Parallel or with a slight time lag start your written version of this skill – become a writer, an author!

Knowing how to write your articles, and pretty quick, will be such a benefit! As you are a network marketer and not a freelance writer you need to acquire this skill of writing to be able to use article marketing in promoting your website, your business and/or your products.

You can create a blog online, submit them  to Ezine, publish them on social sites – whatever you consider to be the right background. Make sure you set up tools like rss feeds, directories, google search functions, email subscription service,… The better you are organized the better your seo optimization will perform. There are no limitations to your creativity! Eventually publishing may even become a hobby for you.

Check the following suggestions as a first step for writing your articles quickly:

  • Keyword research – obviously your topics should be in tune with search habits and you can explore this by doing keyword research. It gives you  a list of keywords to use in your article. Make sure you chose a topic where you can exhibit your expert knowledge which will give your target readers interesting reading and some valuable hints to apply in life..
  • Do a bit of research – don’t spend your day on it though. For competent information pick the 3 most reliable online resources you can find. See if they contain specific information that you can use in your articles.
  • Keep in mind that online users prefer comparatively short articles. See that your topics can be discussed in 500 words or less. Going into detail on 3-5 major points should be adequate. For more information you can always create an article series. This gives you the benefit of multiplying the number of articles you publish without having to work long hours for them.
  • Edit when you are done putting all your ideas into writing. Messing around with grammar or spelling in between costs you too much time and is distracting.

Once you have started this process of writing you will very likely find content a lot easier than you have expected and the results you will be getting will be your reward!

Teaching people how to write articles is another feature of Mentoring For Free!

Remember – becoming an expert at network marketing takes time and learning. But fortunately it is learning “on the job” which makes it a live and successful process.

Recollect – how do you interact with your best friends?  Are you talking about your dreams and visions in life, laughing, teasing, supporting each other?

Or is it all talking about the problems in your life,  complaining, worrying, gossip, and other negative stuff ?

Your self esteem and self confidence is largely determined by who you spend time with, and what you are sharing when you are together.

There is this notion that “you are the average of the 5 people” you hang around with. If these 5 people have a positive attitude and move forward in life you are likely to be on the same tack. It may get you down, however, if these friends or acquaintances have a narrow and limiting attitude towards life.  This basic rule applies to an overwhelming extent also to our success curve in network marketing or the home based business you do.

If you want to feel good about yourself, want to have success, be a glowing example you have to take a serious look at your friendships and the people you surround yourself with.

Answer these five questions for yourself:

1. Do you have healthy friendships?
Now what does it mean “having a healthy friendship”. Let us say here that in a healthy friendship both sides feel happy, content and supported and yet they don’t feel limited by the interaction as there are no conditions attached.

When you look at your friends do you feel that you need to follow their advice even if it goes against your grain, or do you occasionally let your friend down? Are you too much part of each other’s life? If so you might have to adapt your friendship a bit.

2. Do your friends support you in achieving your dreams?
Are you perfectly comfortable with your friends when you  are speaking about your dreams with  them and do they give you support and motivation ? Or do they “protect you” and point out all the possible reasons why you will never be able to achieve your dreams?

3. Can you discuss the positive aspects of life with your friends?
Do you inspire each other by discussing what is great in life and in your business? Do you brainstorm positive solutions to problems and challenges when you are together or do you tend to get hooked up in problems?

The world is a mirror, the Law of Attraction clearly says that you get what you focus on. This is spiritual  physics and your choice is to set your focus right!

4. Are your friends grateful for what good they have life?
Are your friends pleased and grateful for what they have? Do they freely share their abundance? Do they support the energy of Earth in a positive way? Are you grateful to have them in your life or even in your business?

5. Are you happy when you spend time with your friends?
Next time you have a get together with your close friends observe if you actually do feel light and happy, weighed down or irritated!

At times life and business require decisions, not every day is an easy one. A positive friend will lift you up and brighten your day, point out your strengths and believe in you till believe in yourself again.

It is a gift to have a real good friend who is fully present in a loving and supportive way. Feel blesses indeed if you have friends like that and make sure that you are such a wonderful friend too.

Residual income is not new. The conventional perception of a residual income are e.g. : Income from investments,  royalties, income from renting out real estate, etc. This in itself explains why a residual income was not something everyone could have – either you had to have a fair amount of money to make investments or buy real estate or you had to be a very talented writer who even had the capacity  to land a best seller. That’s why the term residual income has only become wider known in context with new business models like mlm, network marketing, multi level marketing – or which ever way you want to call it.

Working from home is nothing new either – in the old days lots of people worked from home doing handicrafts of some kind, like making shoes, sewing, making pieces of furniture and lots more. The big change which made people go out for work on a large scale was a result of industrialisation. And now the market is  changing again. More and more people want to work at home as it increases the quality of living considerably.

Buying a franchise doesn’t really fall into this category even though you may be able to make big money with it. There are two big handicaps – first you cannot start it as a part time income and second you have a high investment and in spite of making money the payback will eat up your profit for a long time.

This desire of people to have a chance at creating some extra income, earn money, preferably creating a residual income has become a real boom with the possibilities of the internet. There are thousands of offers for work from home, income streams, creating wealth, it’s become hard to know what and how to choose. As a result of this flood if information a massive amount of scam has also appeared.

For some reason making money online is considered something anyone thinks they  can do anyways – but it’s not like stuffing envelopes or other minor work from home of old.

A home based business is a new category of professionalism which has to be learned, studied, to have a change of success and to eventually end up creating a residual income that will permit you to retire. Entrepreneurs who start an online business have to know which resources to use, how to achieve a respectable or better even – first rate search engine ranking, how to create leads as the scam of buying leads will get you nowhere. Creating leads, custom leads is critical for making money online. Building relationships, teaching the people who come in by plugging them in a system they can duplicate is a must.

It certainly is possible to build a six figure income with a web marketing business opportunity, provided you do not get carried away with some hype screaming scam. Be a critical thinker and learn how to think and not what to think and you will succeed!

Common goals  in people today are ideas like: Fire your boss, start your own business, become an entrepreneur running a home business, having success in business, to name only a few.

In fact it is the internet which enables entrepreneurship at an entirely different level. Internet marketing is the big growth area. However, as in any other more conventional business you have to set it up professionally to take your inspiration on the path of success. You need a business plan which you ought to discuss with an expert on the topic as a consultant to make sure your basics are sound. Of course you also need a certain amount of cash flow as you need to take care of having the right software to do your work. Super efficient back offices are available on the net for very reasonable money so there is no need that you re-invent the wheel As a rule investing (time rather than money) is mainly required in the area of personal education. You need to get to know all the possible resources and free training you can find on the internet, knowledge of technology which is required to eventually get going. But also specific skills are a necessity.

What is your first goal? Help yourself by accepting help. MLM as any other profession requires specialised knowledge as well as personal development to make it grow. You need to learn about building relationships with people, about the law of attraction and  that most people today do not want to be “sold”. The motivation for this effort is rooted in your personal goal – the reason why you stepped on this path of wanting a small business of your own! After a while most people will realise that MLM in fact need not stay in the range of a small business – with the right mentoring, which lets you develop your leadership skills and your capacity for management you will be surprised about the growth you may experience.

This growth is also directly related to the coaching you hand on to the people you work with not only yourself but in the entire leadership team. You and the team with whom you work provide a business service which will “breed” growth and personal development for all who participate – provided what you do and the system you use can be duplicated by everyone who joins in. Learning of the basics should put you in a position of being able to judge if this duplication actually works – if not – search until you find a background where it does work. This is the most important details when it comes to choosing a network marketing business.

MLM is not about sales, it is not about recruiting – it is about developing people so that they will be able to do what you do. This is the secret to success in this industry.
