Empowerment has become somewhat fashionable as a term – however – you’d better consider empowerment a little closer.

The word naturally contains the word power as a core content.

Whereas the word empowerment implies positive meanings,  the negative connotations of “power” are despicable no doubt.

But which positive aspects of power can we claim:

Power can be see as “the strength to do something” going from there empowerment can be considered as “giving the strength to do something”. This a a very noble goal in a teacher and others who are in authority as leaders.

  • Good leaders will never use dominance (negative power) to obtain their goals. They will rather  get the people they have to work with interested in “the job” so that any job is performed with joy – the joy of achievement!
  • Teachers who are able to inspire their pupils will achieve top performers as a reward for their efforts. There are very few people who cannot be inspired by one or the other topic. It is the challenge of the teachers, however, to develop such a successful strategy of empowerment.

Looking at empowerment from the side of those who are being empowered – they will arrive at a position of their personal development which they would not have thought possible and as a next step it may very well help them to help themselves to foster their personal empowerment.

Make sure you select a teacher who will be the key person in your empowerment and you will be unstoppable at whatever achievement you have in mind.

It is this kind of personal development which will make all the difference when you have in mind to build your own business and it does not matter which kind of business you have in mind.

The professional side will be the easy part in your training and growth curve. The personal development side will become a lot easier with an empowering teacher. Why?

Never forget it is fear or fear of failure which is you main trap in life and business and empowerment will help you outgrow this limitation!

Why?

Network marketing today should be a business for everyone.

This does not mean that everyone will do it and become a professional network marketer. But it is the fundamental idea of this profession that everybody should be able to do it.

Strangely enough it has turned out over the past 60 years that equal chances is fantasy – there may be equal chances, but people do not take them.

Interestingly enough the Pareto principle also applies to network marketing – i.e. there is a 80/20 balance in distribution. 80 % of the people earn 20 % of the money that is being earned and 20% earn 80%.

This principle is not specific to network marketing it applies to everything. It may be conventional industries, professions, etc., but it may also be applied to  fields like sports, arts and many more.

It seems to be  part of this world. The difference between the 2 groups is their vision. It is only a small percentage of people who do not let themselves be limited by “that’s how it has to be done” and many other such limiting beliefs.

For this very reason it is personal development which is such a key element in all trainings of network marketing today.

It is interesting to watch that people who are seriously doing network marketing  in addition to their 9 – 5 job as a rule start to stand out in their job as well. It is their shift of mind set, their going from an employee mind set to and entrepreneur mind set which causes a marked improvement in their performance in all areas of their lives.

In order to improve the chances of people who want to make their life better it is a necessity that all the training, the used systems and the entire handling of a network marketing business are kept as simple as can be. The main path of learning in this profession is duplication and when duplication is easy, the chances of success of the people involved is a lot better.

Keeping all the facts simple does not mean, however, that network marketing today is easy – the challenge is the personal development – the attitude and the resulting persistence that is the dividing line between success and mediocre results.

Make sure you tune your mind the right way!

Tip 12

Teach Others!

 

The importance of teaching cannot be emphasised enough! Keep teaching on a regular basis.

Let the slogan be:

tell – show – try – do

It is the key goal of teaching  to get people from activity to productivity.

Everyone, no matter what their background may be. needs to work at personal development on an on going basis.

Communication skills can best be taught through roll play in a group of like minded people.It is  quite a step from knowing to doing and doing is a routing thing. the more often you do, the better you get.

Skills, like dealing with websites, social networks and the like can very well be taught as lectures – best of all videos, as this will allow people to stop and replay until they have “got it”.

No matter which topic you have your focus on right now – be aware that you need to become a professional!

As they say: Amateurs don’t get paid, professionals do!

Therefore, to get paid and to eventually have a fulltime income and a lot more you need to be a professional – no way around it. This will happen if you put aside your ego that may be telling you that you “can do it anyways” and start learning this trade properly as an apprentice.

Repeat Again and Again!

Repetition is THE Success Formula in Network Marketing today.

You may say – where is the challenge – it is boring to repeat things over and over again..

It is the challenge to repeat things over and over again.

  • Yes it is easy.
  • Yes, it can be boring, but
  • Yes it is the way to go.

You know, we all know – network marketing today works when every single step you do can be duplicated by your new partners.

  • Teach them every single step you take,
  • Teach them that it is basically easy,
  • Teach them that it can be boring,
  • Teach them that is is the way to go if they want to achieve success.

There are two lanes – the general guide lines for network marketing that will be valid for every single company out there and – the more specific guide lines which are set by the business you are doing. At times it can be tricky as some company guide lines may not match too well with the general guide lines for network marketing.

If the gap between the two is too big you might want to take a second look if you have actually picked a network marketing company or if you happened to pick a direct sales company. You may say MLM is direct sales – yes it is, however in a real network marketing company the core values is  different. The focus is on the people and the company looks after them instead of making pressure for turnover.

  • It is a big benefit to be able to choose the amount of work you want to do, however,
  • it is a big handicap to be able to choose the amount of work you do

It requires entrepreneurship and a clear goal to get your butt off the couch and do what is required to succeed!

Repetition will be valid for either business option!

Tip 10

Being Consistent!

What a challenge in a time when those who are gifted with phantasy and ideas often jump from one thing to the next before one thing was actually  really started.

It is this spirit of our times which offers instant gratification for so many things that the idea of consistency  has lost the importance t deserves.

We all know that “practise makes perfect” this has been valid for a long long time.

What are the advantages of being consistent? Let me state but a few!

  • When we do something over a period of time we become proficient at what we are doing. We achieve expertise and that again helps showing others the way. This showing others the way is not a specialty of network marketing – it has been the basis of apprenticeship over hundreds of years. The better the master the better the pupil and the more proficient you become the more flexible and inventive you can be.
  • this proficiency makes life easy – we do what we need to do and the time we require for it becomes less and less – wither we can add to our tasks and do more or we can enjoy a certain freedom of time and still be proficient – consistent
  • Considering the internet staying consistent creates a viral foundation for our business that is working for us after a certain period of time that we can truly say our “business is open 24/7 – a fact which of course again improves our productivity without drawing from our personal strength.
  • another fact about staying consistent and the internet – we will be recongnised as experts by google and our work will show up a lot more and eventually even on page 1 of search engines –another side effect which is very much wanted.

I do hope I got you thinking so that you will do all you can to make your consistency better and better day by day. It is a necessity in all areas of life but when you are building a network marketing business it is a must which you cannot leave aside. It is like gym – practise and you will be a master over time.

Tip 9

Take Action!

 

What a statement – are you sure you know the difference between “being busy” and “taking action”?

Listen to what people say – the most frequent statement of people today is: “I am stressed out”.

Let me make something totally clear right from start: stress happens in your mind! Yes, let me repeat: stress happens in your mind!

This is a bold statement – true, however, stress does not equal a lot of work.

Simply watch the people around you to confirm this for yourself:

  • There are those who have 3 kids, a fulltime job, a house and a garden to take care of and yet they are relaxed and will make time to have a drink with you or a chat here and there.
  • And there are those many others who only have themselves and perhaps a job and who have a cleaning woman come in every week  and someone who takes care of the garden. However when you meet them they barely have the time to say hello, they look haggard and driven (stressed out)

Let’s take a look at this situation.

You need to be able to distinguish between “being busy” and taking action.

Let me give you a few examples.

  1. You arrive at your work place and you sit down and start to sort your pens and pencils all to look in the same direction, you sharpen the pencils (not that you need them as you work at the pc). You get yourself a cup of coffee as there was no time for it at breakfast, call the cleaning woman at home to see if the cat got the right amount of food and to make sure she bought the right kind of detergent. Next you start up your pc and  let the emails come in and you read them all top to bottom, no matter if the sender was of relevance or if some perhaps belonged in the spam category (but of course you need to be informed that’s part of work after all). By the time you actually settle down to check what you have to do half the morning is gone…..of course it may be tough to get all you need to do done in the remainder of the work day…..what a stress!
  2. Taking action means doing all the things that give you “results’” – for achieving your work goal at home or at work, that help you to improve your personal development in a way that again your specified objectives will benefit. All the time eating small details which do not contribute in such a way can go on a “to do list” and you can work them off at leisure in small time slots  which will not affect your efficiency. The priorities go into your diary!

In both cases you may spend a lot of time on whatever you are doing, however, when your focus is set on activity the joy of performance and achievement will keep your energy high and you will be tired in the evening, but relaxed and happy, but never ever stressed out!

You may need help to sort yourself out if you have difficulties getting yourself and your planning on track but it will be very much worth the time you spend as it will get you out of the stress race.

Tip 8

“Drive a Vehicle”

 

Do you remember how you first got into a car for your very first driving lesson?

Were you proficient from the very first minute?

You were not?

So why would you imagine you might be proficient at driving your business vehicle from the very first minute onwards?

If you were lucky you had the chance to get some training by your business partners even before you signed the contract of joining them. That is by far the best option as you can at least make the first baby steps right away.

If you signed up before you were educated you should grab your sponsor and make him help you right there. You make a list of people  who you would like to contact right away and let your sponsor help you calling them.

Communication is a skill and you need to learn the correct approach right away. Much easier to learn things correctly to start with than struggle and mend.

Provided you have chosen well there should be a system available that lets you duplicate the proven work approach of your upline. Study it, Follow the training and take it one step at a time.

The same way as you cannot eat an elephant in one piece you cannot learn a business in 1 day.  Do things properly and you will never worry and succeed over time.

Tip 7

You Have A Dream!

Is it a dream that is out somewhere not to be considered or is it one of those dreams which you want to manifest, which you want to become part of your life?

You have a dream and you want to draw it into your life – do you have a clue how this could be done?

You need to attach a number a money value to it – let’s say you want a lovely house – find out how much you need to spend to have it – only by specifying this, by making clear what your direction is you will be able to plan constructively.

Now you know where you are going. The next decision will be to choose a “vehicle” that is suitable to get you to your destination.

The best option for sure will be building a network marketing business. Why? Because such a business can be started with a low investment and secondly you can start it without letting go of your job as you can start it in your free time.

Most people who start in network marketing are employees in their first career. In a way this is a handicap as they are missing a business minded thought pattern. As a result you fall in love with some product or other and without much further investigation this very business is started.

Let me comment on this: Most network marketing companies have excellent products and the argument you need to love the product is only partially valid in a business like decision. You have to assess if there is a good long-term market for the product in question. If you fall in love with an old record player because it reminds you how you loved those records in the sixties and you still have many of them, it will still be not a good business idea as selling those record players on a regular basis will prove to be a very difficult venture,

On the other hand you might be a man and you might like female cosmetic articles – well likely you will not use them yourself, but the market is there and even as a man you will be able to build a substantial business with them.

However, the by far superior market in our times is the health and wellness market. this is partly due to the baby boomers but also to the fact that health is a basic necessity for a good life. Furthermore there are all of those who have health issues as they are overweight…..and it does not matter if you are a man or a woman or in which part of the world you are living –health is a universal  topic.

The second important factor to look at is the company background of the company you plan to join. Are they experienced, do they provide excellent serve, do they pay the part time people well so that they can stay in this business and is the commission structure set up fairly? You want to get paid for what you do and not miss out due to qualification levels which are unattainable.

There is lots more to be said in this context but this should get you thinking. Ask critical questions to test if you would be joining a competent team that is capable of supporting you – as a lonely lion there is not a big likelihood that you can build a business successfully.

Tip 6

There is no such thing as “NO TIME” –

the entire life is set in a time frame.

We are born, the first year, day care, pre-school, high-school, college…day, night, seasons…

Every single step in life is set in a time frame.

So why should things be different when building a business?

Building a conventional business very often the banks will set a time frame for the pay-back of loans. This aspect fortunately does not apply when building a network marketing business. As a rule the investment for a network marketing business is small, however, instead you have to invest your time.

Since most people start a network marketing business side-line to their job, setting time frames is a very critical topic. Time has a habit of “evaporating” on us, unless we  nail it down and set up a dairy with the tasks we have to do.

When you set up a diary in such a way that you look at the week as 168 hours you make yourself aware that we basically have plenty of time. Break it down in the time you require for work, for commuting, for doing your house and family obligations, time with children, time for fun and sleep – you will find that you will at least have 15 – 20 hours which you can dedicate to your business if you stick to your diary.

Is it easy? Yes it is easy.  Is it tough? Sure it is tough as most people are not used to sticking to a time frame where they don’t have time to simply “laze away”.

However, if you are serious about building a business for yourself and your freedom so that you can finally live the life you really want, you will do what is required to make it happen.

Creative Breaks are FUN!

We all know the directive: “Love others as you love yourself”

So when you realise that you are sucked into work to an extent that you do not feel you love yourself anymore you definitely need to do something about it. Some people may go on vacation, others may sleep long hours. There are plenty of possibilities…

For myself I love creative breaks – doing handicrafts, working around the house, spending even more time with family and friends, read through the night, visit the opera…….you get my point?

After a while I am burning again to get back to work, to immerse in all the activities that are required to do network marketing today. I am content and happy – rejuvenated.

It is like starting to write a new book. I am open for new ideas, I start doing things differently, the drive is there and makes you unstoppable – nice.

Tip 5

Set Values!

Setting values is an absolute necessity. Values determine the quality of your business. They are in a way a reflection of who you are! Considering the law of attraction they will even determined what you draw into your business life.

 

Find here a few hints as to what might be important in life, in business and especially in network marketing today. Priorities might vary, but none of the suggested values can be dispensed with.

Honesty

Integrity

Respect for yourself and for others. We all know that  you have to do onto others as you do to yourself;  therefore never underestimate the basic rule “love yourself first”.

Support: this is an interesting one as support definitely does not mean do the work for others. You are supposed to help those who make a real effort and struggle with one thing or another. Those are the ones that deserve your time.

Team Spirit: The importance of tea spirit is demonstrated clearly in all sorts of team sports where it is impossible to even play without it. In business or especially in network marketing today it  is far less obvious. Everyone has to do what has to be done – so why team spirit…there will be times or days when things do not happen as you have planned or you receive criticism by someone you talked to; there are so many possibilities that might pull you down – that is when the team spirit will kick in – you can talk to your upline leaders and get moral support and very likely additional training that will help you deal even better with situations you have encountered and found tough.

Even positive competition within a team can prove to be a valuable incentive for you to give your best.

Kindness: Heart felt kindness when dealing with people will take you far. Lots of people are fear ridden these days and a kind word or gesture can make all the difference for them.

But apart from values that determine human interaction you also need values like

Making a decent business plan and then sticking to it by determining your daily plan of action performing it diligently.

Unless you perform in accordance with your business plan and your scheduled plan of action you cannot have an idea how to train other people as you will not have a clue what is working for you and what not…this applies especially for network marketing today.

Teaching another person what you are doing without having the experience of what is working for you and what  is not would be dishonest and that would certainly not meet with your value of honesty and integrity.

There are many things that can be added to this list, but it is the intent to give you an idea so that you can set your imagination, your vision going.

Study positive and mind lifting material and most of all read about people who have earned themselves a reputation for being just that kind of person and take them as a role model.

 Plan Action!

 

Yet another flashy word, however with a lot of truth to it.

Already the famous German poet, Johann Wolfgang v. Goethe said:

Knowledge ís useless unless you apply it.

A  Plan of action is nothing but knowledge put into action.

Knowledge can be divided into various categories:

  • Generic knowledge
  • General specialised knowlege
  • Specific knowledge

Generic Knowledge:

is knowledge that will be important for all who seek knowledge – it is like the basis, like the ABC that will put you in a place to be able to gain more and also more specialised information.

General Specialised Knowledge:

this will give you the generic information of a special topic – as an example the general knowledge you need to repair cars – any car. this, however, very likely will not give enough to know all the details of a certain brand so you need to proceed to

Specific Knowlege:

this will give you all you need to repair  for instance a Mercedes, or Toyota or which ever brand you specilaise in.

The same structure as in the given example applies to whatever you do in life.

When you are building a network marketing business today your required plan of action will entail things like:

  • Consulting with your sponsors to find out what the requirements of your chosen  business are. Unless you are clear about the required qualifications for making money. Reading what your company provides so that you know all about the real NO NOs that might get you into trouble
  • Learnign about the products you are going to offer – especially the benefits they give people who buy them.
  • Most important – you need to learn all about people. Network marketing today is a peoples business – your main job will be helping people to succeed – as a first step help them with their personal development and their attitude in life and in business, and second to guide them in their frist steps in business, be available for 3-way calls, etc.
  • It is a necessity that you learn all you can about people! It will help you more in this profession than any other knowledge you may acquire.
  • And of course last but not least you have to sit down and make a time schedule every single week where you blank out the times you intend to be using for business and as a second step fill these times with appointment, training sessions, follow ups, etc.

This should give you some general input as to where to start with designing your  plan of action. Do the general things, go into more detail with regards to your company and focus on people.

How to Get You Started –Tip 3

Goal

 

What’s that?

 

 

There are lots of discussions going on about goals – yet it is a necessity to have one.

Doing something without a goal is like driving somewhere without direction what so ever. You need them no matter what you do, but in network marketing today they are the breath of your life and success!

You need to structure your goals:

  • short-term goals
  • medium-term goals
  • long-term goals

Defining goals is the next step after defining your vision.  It is like the recipe to follow.

Short-term goals are needed to keep you on track – e.g. it may be the next rank you want to qualify for if you are in business, it may be the next exam you want to pass when you are at university or doing some training, it may be the weight you want to achieve in a certain period of time if you are on a weight-loss program. In short – it has to be something which you can achieve in a comparatively short period of time.

Medium-term goals need to be defined to give you a perspective that boosts your persistance – something which you want to reach which is of some value – ideally or money wise that needs your focus to work for. However, it should not be so far out that you loose hope of ever getting there. Once you have reached them the big long-term goal will appear doable for you and you will have acquired the strength and the trust to really go for it.

Long-term goals – they are very much in tune with your dream – your vision – they are all you desire and you want in life. they keep you hot and going when you are thinking of them and once you have overcome the challenges of some short and medium-term goals you actually know you will get there – the life of your dreams.

All of this is a process – most people will require support on the way and will appreciate a support background that is sound and solid – a support background of people who are actually there, who are living the life of their dreams. that gives you the conviction that they know what they are talking about as they have done it – achieved it. Mind you – it better be people who are still active in life so that they are also in tune with what is required today!

Make a wise choice – don’t fall for hype, it may not serve you in the long run!

How to Get You Started –Tip 2

Be

Specific!

 

 

Why be specific – well, you need to materialise your dream into a vision.  A vision is working for you when you start to go into detail as to what your dream is all about. This is true for any situation in life and it is a must in network marketing today!

Be very clear as to what you want and when you want it.Go into detail in all points. Make the dream livable. Make it real in your rmind and outline as much as you can.

Napoleon Hill says something like – your subconscious mind is as dumb as a box of rocks. It will believe everythig that you specify mixed with the right amount of passion to it. That is where it will start finding ways and means to materialise  – it wil put it out to universe so that opportunities come in that may serve the purpose.

Therefore remember – first dream – next let your dream become a clear vision.

How to Get You Started–Tip 1

                 DREAM

Yes, dream – you hear it all the time – it is  THE main topic when you decide to create your life. 

Why? Well, have you ever gone on a  holiday without wondering beforehand where to go or perhaps dreaming about a location you have always wanted to visit, to explore? Certainly not – when you start browsing for holiday details you of course need keywords to put into google search otherwise the entire internet will not  be enough to find your solution. Whatever you do – it has to be in your thoughts first.

Children know how to dream – day dreaming is part of their life. Unfortunately most children are taught to let go of day dreaming as part of their programming. Daydreaming is not acceptable by most parent’s standard of what is acceptable or not.  We are supposed to “function” do well in society, at school, at university in our jobs – to express it drastically – to be robots.

Unfortunately this kills creativity and the natural zest for life – no wonder so many try to grasp it  through methods which are totally inadequate – drugs, smoking, sex or any other addictions.

The solution is – re-learn to DREAM! Create your vision of what life should be. Go into detail – see, hear, smell, feel – even be what you want  your life to be.

Daily visualization will help you to establish this rapport and you will experience the amazing power of harnessing your dreams!

You Do Not Love Sales?

The number of people who claim “not to love sales” is above 90 %. this is an interesting phenomenon, which is especially apparent when you are in network marketing today.

So many people when you as them if they want to supplement or replace their income first of all as: “Is it sales?”.

 

Let us analyze this phobia a bit closer.

image Of course when you are in a job there are many jobs which are not sales in the forefront. You may be a teacher, a book keeper, a nurse, secretary or whatsoever.

What happens when you start your own business – may be a free lance musician, an author, a teacher who teaches outside school, a carpenter, actor, lawyer …

The moment you start your own business you are automatically in sales – tough sales as you have to sell your own performance.

Of course once you have acquired a reputation you may employ someone who does your sales or you may have an agent or specialists in advertising – but that is at the time when you have overcome the basic struggles of setting up your own business of selling your performance, services, art….

When we look at the success rates of  all those diverse businesses you will find that in any kind of business the failure rates are pretty high – so why is it – one big reason for sure is “none of them like sales” – since they don’t like it they don’t make an effort at becoming professionals at sales. The direct consequence is failure or only moderate business success.

Those who apply themselves and do their own marketing and sales have success.

There is one conclusion – when you start your own business, become  a professional at sales and all that comes with it – the right type of communication, skills with word and handling people, etc. Study the skills which Tom “Big Al” Schreiter teaches – they work!

The very same applies when you start your own network marketing business -   you have to do what is required for success.

You have one benefit, however, in network marketing today – you work in a team, you have people around you who have an active interest in helping you to become successful as their own success depends on your success!

Stop asking “is it sales?” – yes it for sure is sales – acquire the skills you need and you will be in an industry with more benefits than you can imagine to begin with.

Numbers in Network Marketing Today

Lots of people are talking about numbers in network marketing today, however I am not going to the attitude where people say “throw enough dirt on the wall so some will stick” – that’s an  attitude that leaves a lot of burnt soil.

Let’s talk about the professional numbers.

There is absolutely no business where  you cannot set up a statistics as to how the business works and what you achieve.

image Let’s  consider a business with lots of branches all over the world. The headquarters may know that each branch makes a turnover of 4 million dollars. The management decides that they will step up their business volume so what do you think they will do – will they talk to the individual branch managers and tell them that they will have to  increase the business they are doing by 20 % or will they open more branches to achieve their target turnover?

Well, if they will  give pressure to their branches to expand that may have even fatal results As a rule people do not perform when given pressure. So the correct alternative will be to open new branches. Based ont eh numbers they know from the existing branches it will be easy to work out the number of branches they have to open to achieve their target.

As any other business of course network marketing has numbers by which you can go.

The first set of numbers applies to the start up phase. for building a team you will have to talk to people and at the beginning when the skills you require are yet low you may have to talk to  100 people to  find one partner. As your practice and skills increase the ration will change to 1:50, 1:20, 1:10 or even better if you really put your heart into it and become a professional. however, it does not matter at which ratio you  balance out – once you know your ratio, your business becomes very predictable.

You may listen to somebody  is talking  about 25k in volume per month and 2 people and another one about 10k of volume and 10 core people – which would you go for? There are so many network marketers who will go for the big volume as they are thinking of the nice pay check. However when you consider the first general business example it will make a lot of sense to go for the 10 core people as the volume will take care of itself once you have 10 core people. This also applies for desired growth rates in your business.

Make sure you understand the general as well as your own numbers and make sure you learn to create more and more targeted leads and your success is on the highway!

Do you fear objections? Unfortunately the fear of objections is one of the reasons why so many people in network marketing today  are not taking to the next level.

Let’s face it – it is normal that not everybody you talk to will join   your business. image And it is good that there are so me who say “NO”! Why? Well who would  teach our children, wash our cars, or clean our take care of the shelves in the supermarket or repair our cars, sell them, or in fact any of the other many jobs that need to be done to make life comfortable.  It is a fact of life that not everybody will want to do everything.

However when we look at the people we talk to – there are many who will come up with objections. An objection is basically something that cannot be dealt with . Yet when you look at it from another perspective, an objection can well be a disguised question. And questions of course can be answered. In fact you can take it a bit further –. an objection even shows that somebody you are talking to  has followed what you say, thought about it and in a way shows interest in what you have displayed.

Therefore it is important to learn how to deal with objections.

Rather than parrot like learning various answers to various objections the much better approach will be to create an objections work sheet. Take a piece of paper and write down all the objections you are receiving and in addition write down how you dealt  with them – that way you will very soon have a catalogue of strategies that work and what is more important “that work for you”. You may not feel comfortable with the way I handle objections or your upline handles objections, but by creating that work sheet you can solve the issue in your very own and personal way.

There is one special category of objection – they are the objection you have in your mind, you may fear without having experienced them yet. This having certain objections on your mind prominently may even cause these objections to crop up in your prospect’s mind. They can kind of “feel” them – so better solve these in your mind upfront so that they will not cause  unwanted problems.

In addition to your work sheet it will certainly make sense that you do some roll playing with your team, with your upline or any mixed group of network marketers as it also takes practice “skill” to deal with objections on the spot when they occur. You need to exercise what you have figured out!

Pick up the challenge of objections and you will move forward by leaps and bounds!

Network Marketing Today – Choose Well

One of the core issues in network marketing today is the choice of a business.

To find out more around this topic let’s look at the business model.

Basically you are recommending to others what you like. Constant recommendation will  permit you to grow a substantial business that eventually will give you a residual income.

In this context it is critical that you know which product  groups are suitable for this kind of business model.

It is consumables!

 

Any other product group will not allow you to build a permanent group of customers who will be happy to buy what you have recommended to them on a regular basis. It you look at any kind of electronics, water filters, health beds, houses or similar things, all of these require you to provide new customers at a regular activity. This in itself is not designed to let you have a residual income ever as you cannot stop your activities without having your business suffer.

Whereas with consumables you can have customers of long standing – I have customers who have been customers for 20 + years and who are happy to connect with me when they have questions or are looking for something.

With this I leave you to digest this basic thought and many of the other important parameters for choosing a business will be discussed another time.

NO in Network Marketing Today

The magical word NO has taken more people out of business than any other word.

In network marketing today it is your job to  connect with people to find out if they have a desire to do something in addition to their job or perhaps even want to become their own boss. In this process receiving NO as a reply is normal

The other day I listened to a CD by Jerry Clark and he brought an excellent example.

Let’s look at a waitress in a restaurant. It is her job to offer ketchup to the people eating at the tables. She goes to the first table “would you like some ketchup?” – yes please, the second table “would you like some ketchup? – no thanks, the third table “would you like some ketchup? – no thanks, the fourth table “would you like some ketchup?yes please………….and it went on like that yes please or no thanks………….

What do you think – did the waitress take the no thanks personally? Sure not – she knew that it was part of her job to offer ketchup to people.

  • So why is it that so many people take NO as a personal offence when they are doing their job at building a network marketing business?

Make sure you understand what you are in for when you are doing this business and  remember the waitress – it will give you a chuckle   each time you get a NO as an answer.

The idea of getting rid of the boss fires up many people nowadays so that they get started in network marketing today.

Network marketing today has one big ADVANTAGE and one big DISADVANTAGE.

Advantage:         You are your own boss.

Disadvantage:    You are your own boss.

 

Let me get into this a little more detailed.

When you decide to start up a conventional business – shoe shop. Mc.Donald’s franchise or whatever – you as a rule have to make quite a big investment, 10 thousand dollars and more, before you even start. Furthermore you will have to give up your job.

Both of these facts together get you in a place where you have no choice – you have to work and you will have to work a lot to pay back your loan and to make at least a basic living. It will likely take you 10 years or perhaps more to pay back your investment and with a bit of luck you may end up with a fair net income after that – let’s say something like 30 or 40k a year.

When you decide to get into network marketing today your start up investment will be roughly between 30 and 1000 dollars max. That by comparison is peanuts. And, what’s more, you don’t have to give up your job – so you stay in a place where you can pay your bills as usual.

Seeing this  situation it takes a rock solid WHY so that you get down to work diligently at your business. As in any other business you will have to face all sorts of challenges – one of them is dealing with lots of NOs – it is not easy emotionally not to perceive this as rejection of yourself. In fact it is not a rejection of yourself, but a no to the offer you have put out. It is normal _ not everyone wants to become a nurse, a teacher, lawyer, carpenter or whatever.

The critical balance between success and failure in this network marketing business will be your

WHY.

This applies to everyone and that is the reason why it is so critical that you work on the WHY of your people – help them find the reason why they should put up with the extra work and the challenges they are facing.

Due to the difference in financial investment it is much easier to quit network marketing today that a conventional business that you started and yet the number of people who quit a conventional business they have started is nearly as  high as in network marketing today. Only the loss is far bigger.

Therefore – if you want to fire your boss, be aware that “being your own boss” is as much an advantage as it is a disadvantage.

Cement your WHY and do your work diligently in a fostering environment with a company that is designed in accordance with high ethical values and you will never regret your decision.

Choice, or “What You Choose to Think"

Do you think it is unfair that everything that happens in your life is your choice?

Well, much of it does not happen on a conscious level.

What we choose to think  is to a large extent programmed by the way we were brought up, by your environment, the media and more. You may end up with a “belief pattern” that is highly destructive to your dreams and ideas of who and what you want to be in life.

When you decide that you want to do your own business this factor becomes increasingly important as the world reflects to you “who you are” – especially in a business which is all about people, like network marketing today, this can decided between success and failure.

image For those who want to succeed:

There is a solution. You can reprogram your mind and get rid of whatever does not serve you. The first step is the acceptance that you and only you are the master of your life.

Working with people may help this process. Very often things can be seen a lot clearer in others and if the new state of acceptance leads you to reflect on what you see in another and to check if it rings true for yourself as well, well, then you are on the road to owning your life.

When working with others communication is a key topic. Communication is a skill and can be learned and honed. So let’s discuss a few points.

Most people have their very own reason for what they are doing and why they are doing it and of course they are looking for solutions for their unsolved topics. Only most people do not like “to be told” either. Very often they do not even like “to be told” when they ask for help.

The skill to impart information to them would be to let them speak and tell you all about them, their whys and dreams and reasons. As a helpful guide the right way to deal with them is to give them bits of info here and there in such a way that they eventually reach their own conclusions and “buy” what you imparted to them.

Such an approach builds trust and respect for each other and creates relationships which as a rule are lasting relationships.

It does not really matter if you are talking to customers to be or to business partners to be – it is this built up trust and respect for each other which will create results.

The natural law of giving works. What you give you get.

You give kindness and real support and you will get a real relationship.

You give “I told you so” and “closing of people” and you will get objections, rejection or even aggression.

Which do you want?

"’The Need to Sell Yourself"

I already hear you say – why I thought network marketing today is not about selling but about building people!

It indeed is. However, in order to have people to talk to you need to sell yourself first. You need to give people a reason why they should want to listen to YOU.

No matter what you are selling – even if you are selling yourself, you  need to bear in mind that conventional sales techniques:

  • Are not effective for most Network Marketers
  • They cause the objections and rejection which are “unfun” for Network Marketers
  • They are one of the reasons for the high attrition rates of team members and customers.

To help you change this situation and learn strategies that work Michael Oliver has created the “natural selling technique”. This is the first of a series of blogs that will deal with this technique.

The Way You Think and Communicate Will Determine The Way People Respond To You – this matches the teachings of the Law of Attraction and it is again and again surprising how good advice keeps boiling down to the same essence.

Ask yourself this.  What is the greatest fear you might have that could hold you back from talking with people about your income opportunity or products?
If you are like most it will be the fear of rejection and objections and the anxiety that comes with that.

It is in fact this underlying fear that  holds people you back at a much earlier stage – the stage of selling themselves. You know that once people connect with you you are in the position that you need to present and you dread that for fear of rejection.

There are two types of rejection:

1. The blunt  "Not interested" and

2. Someone has looked at your offer and finds it doesn’t really fit what they need.

Since your thought pattern will be reflected in the way people respond to you – may be you get the second objection in response to your own anxiety?

Investigating underlying “mechanisms” in non verbal communication may help modifying the way you do things. people always make choices that meet their  visions and needs. This is reflected in the frequent question “What’s in it for me”.

Therefore it is a basic necessity to listen to the person you are talking with. If they have a need for money it should be investigated why and how they arrived at the place they are right now. If this is neglected and a presentation is forced on them like “fire hosing” them they very likely will be put off. Instead you need to  show them how the solution you have in mind might work for them, by prompting things they might know, expanding  a little so that their knowledge can expand and then let them arrive at their own conclusions.

This again meets the general knowledge that “people like to buy but don’t like being sold. Nobody wants to be a “number” in your “numbers game”!

These things apply likewise if you are selling yourself or if you are promoting your network marketing opportunity.

Do you want a solution or are you happy where you are?

A while back I read a letter sent out by Robert Pauly – I have it in German so I cannot actually quote it here and have to tell you what he said in my own words:

A happy man, let’s call him  Jack, was taking a nice walk in the sunshine. It was a wide pasture yet with a few swampy patches. He enjoyed his outing thoroughly.

 All of a sudden Jacimagek heard someone calling. He followed the voice and came to a big deep hole which was a bit  marshy in its level area. Down there he saw a man calling out for help. When Jack was close enough he talked to the man who was begging for help and finally so Jack grabbed a big branch and put it down the hole like a ladder. The man tried to climb up on it, but some tiny twigs broke so he slipped back – he tried again, came up a bit further and slipped again. Jack suggested he should take his hand once he came up again, yet the man down in the hole sat down and said –I really tried, but it is far too hard for me to get up far enough to grab your hand – just leave me where I am.

Jimageack was a bit sorry for the man in the hole, but he could do nothing but accept. So he walked on. After a little while he again heard a human voice. When he came close he again saw a man in a very similar hole. He was lying on his back on the marshy ground singing a nice tune and enjoying the soft wet surface he ways lying on. When Jack came close he called down to the man if he wanted help to get out of the hole but the man on ly grinned and said – I like it down here. – itIt  is soft and humid and the sunshine is warming me ! -  Jack couldn’t believe his ears, wished the guy a good day and walked on wondering why a person would be happy in a trap like this.

 Sinceimage it was a beautiful day Jack decided to extend he walk a little further. After another  half hour he again hear somebody call out for help. When he came closer it was another man in yet another one of those big marshy holes. Jack called down to him if he needed help and the guy in the hole at once said – of course I want help – I want to get out of here , I don’t like being trapped in a place like that. So Jack reached down with his arm as far as he could and the guy in the hole make a big effort to climb the slithery side of the hole far enough that he could grab the hand and with a big strong effort climb up the wall to the surface.

He thanked Jack for his rescue and Jack and his new companion continued their walk together.

When you look at this story you will realise that it shows you clearly what is happening in network marketing today. When you build a business you will meet up with those who want, but don’t have the stamina to carry on and really make an effort, those who are just happy on their couch a would not move a little finger to improve their situation and those who were waiting for some support to get going and make a big difference in their lives.

As a mentor with a servant’s heart you are called to find out in which category people are and it sure makes no sense to try and drag somebody who is not willing to do what is required.

Today I’d like to share a personal experience in my early days in network marketing.

Looking back 20+ years at the time when I first met up with MLM in Austria and was thrilled with what I saw I can only wonder.

In those day “positive thinking” and personal development as we know it today were only in baby shoes in this area.image

Since at the time I joined MLM I had been a successful entrepreneur in my study field for some 15 years I was sure that network marketing would not present a problem provided the work was done diligently. I started out and did a thorough job and achieved …….. no progress……Hm….

Meeting with other folks at weekly meetings I of course wanted to find out what was still missing in my work schedule and to my big chagrin all that was being discussed were personal development issues. Things like “dream your vision and work on it, you attract what you send out and more – all those things which are being discussed on a large scale nowadays, which are being investigated and propagated in considerable detail in books like “The Secret”.

In those days I could not understand at all, but fact was, those who obviously were into those matters succeeded in building their business and I didn’t.

Eventually, years later “I got it” and once that happened my business grew miraculously.

Therefore you can conclude that personal development, attitude, and willingness to work on these issues are the big secret for success in network marketing today just as much as it was in those days.

Don’t hesitate to step on this path – the time is well spend and the rewards will be incredible.

Being the master of your life is a conscious choice.

It is a choice that also resonates with building a network marketing business today. Let me explain:

It is never the big things in life which leave you stranded, which stop you from doing your daily slight edge activities.

It is the small, trivial little things that eat up your time – may it be phone calls or mishaps or perhaps having a low day altogether, there are so many “reasons” why the important things don’t get done in a nicely structured way. This shows up in your daily life when you consider it clearly.

Backlogs in daily household things like washing the dishes, doing odd cleaning jobs, or in your work environment perhaps a backlog in filing papers or some book keeping work that is over due; perhaps you have on the back of your mind that your car should finally be washed and cleaned up, yet there does not seem to be time to do any of the listed chores.

Unless you make a conscious choice that you do what you need to do “NOW” nothing will change.

 

It is this conscious choice that will change your life!

 

All of the above also reflects on building a network marketing business today. All the issues in your life which are hanging around “undone” will prevent you also from doing the small regular activities which are required in building such a business successfully.

While in your daily life it  may very likely be enough that you make your personal choice to get on with things, it may be a good idea that you have a coach and mentor for business to help and support you so that you stay on track.

However – your conscious choice is the foundation for your success as much as your WHY that represents the driving force to keep you going even at times when things get tight.

Choose to Master Your Life – Build a Network Marketing Business Today – A Life You Can Only Dream of Will be Your Rewards.

Growth in Network Marketing Today

Network Marketing offers a huge potential for growth on  many levels.

Normally when you speak of business, growth is limited to numbers, however, I feel that even there the numbers are the result of what was accomplished on many levels.

 

Let us now check the growth potential in network marketing:

  • Personal development
  • Business training
  • Product knowledge
  • Step from employee to business owner
  • International business activities
  • Financial Independence

This is a very rudimentary list to give a gross overview.

As you see personal development is  the first point. This is important as it is personal development. growth as a person, that will make all the other points possible.

The biggest step you have to take right at the beginning is from being “employee minded” to being “entrepreneur minded” and this is a huge step to take.

Very often people do not see network marketing as a business, they see it more like a side-line job and this is exactly one of the main challenges. You cannot expect a business to grow to an extent that it will give you financial independence eventually if you look at it as a “side-line job”.

The awareness of what you want to achieve and where you want to go is THE critical difference between success and failure.

Second you see business training.  Unfortunately too many people think they can do network marketing anyways and that is part of the big failure numbers in this industry.

Network marketing today is an industry with a lot of   operational knowledge. It is required to know what you are doing. Of course it is strange as all of us have been doing network marketing  from as early as kindergarten onwards  and we do it all the time – promoting a film we have seen, a restaurant, a shop, a holiday or what have you.

Only the moment we start a network marketing business this relaxed approach of “doing it anyways” leaves most of us and we start doing all sorts of things we before never ever considered. Things like pitching people until they evade us to give but one example.

Accordingly a major part of the business training in network marketing today is  laid out that you learn and understand the simple mechanisms behind natural promotion. Of course we require also skills, like working online and general marketing but that is the easier part of it.

Product knowledge is an easy one again, as most people fall in love with a product anyway and consequently want to know all about it.

The transition from being an employee to being a business owner is easy in network marketing. You need not take a risk and leave your job as you would have to with most other businesses – you simply walk away from your job when you have replaced your income and more.

Since travelling is normal in our times the option of having an international business makes sense. Isn’t it nice to be able to “travel on business” rather that to travel after you have already paid your taxes?

Financial independence is the foundation for a nice and easy life style and unless you are doing a business that gives you “time to live” once you have reached your income level, you will not be able to really enjoy the fruit of your labor.

This gives you a rough idea why more and more people want to get into network marketing today. Network marketing today is considered a life-style business and I think this is the key topic altogether.

It is an open secret by now: Network Marketing today is a relationship business and not a sales business!image

I hear the outcry of sales people and the red  personalities who still believe that network marketing is a sales business.

They claim: that after all products need to be moved and as a result they focus on moving the product.

Yes, true, products need to be moved, but in a very different way.

First:

Even in the normal market lots of products are being moved by recommendation. Everybody will tell friends and family if they have had a good deal on something – no matte if it was a film, a pair of shoes or a lovely meal or whatever.

‘This makes a lot of product turn over in the normal market a “relationship business” – people sharing what they like.

Second:

In this fast and impersonal world people are increasingly craving for relationships. It is an uneasy feeling to have to do things alone all the time. It makes you feel good to have someone to reflect, to have confirm what you are wondering, etc.

Therefore as a customer it is nice to have someone to talk to about a product you might want to buy. Some one where you have the feeling that they know what they are talking about and who perhaps makes you feel special because you chose what you did.

Third:

When you are lo9oking fro a business you all the more want to fee l safe and wanted, to have somebody beside you who will take your hand and support and help you in the alien territory of entrepreneurship,somebody who wants YOU because of who YOU are!

So no matter what – product or business – relationships count.

And in network marketing today relationships count all the more.

It is a business of:

  • people joining people, 
  • training and supporting people,
  • giving them incentive for personal development and growth.

“Show me the money” – a very important question in network marketing today.

 

A high percentage of people are susceptible to hype  and unfortunately that’s how many of them get into network marketing.

You may perhaps sit in a presentation and the speaker explains all the maths on the commission plan – great!

Next you sit at home and look at your bonus check and you cannot understand why it is so small.

There is a huge difference between the maths of a bonus plan and the actual way it works in combination with the policies and procedures and all the rules which need to be observed for qualification.

We call it “the hoops you need to jump through”

So when you are listening to a presentation a very legitimate question will be: “How many people do I need for a 10k walk away residual income a month”

There is a big likelihood that even the presenter will have not a clue what this number is and consequently he will either evade and  jump to other topics of he may tell you straight that he will have to work it out.

You definitely need this number as it is kind of qualifying the performance of the commission plan.

Lesson learned: Maths and  Hype are no adequate advisors when it comes to choosing a network marketing business!

image Finding success strategies in network marketing today is very likely one of the hottest topics.

Searching on line you will find thousands of system offers. When checking them out you should be a critical thinker and ask yourself: Who will benefit most from this offer?

A huge number of offers you will find to be of no value to  you, however, those who sell them for sure profit from each and every sale.

Here’s a check list for you:

  • Who is offering the system and are they experienced in network marketing
  • Will everyone be able to duplicate what you are looking at
  • Who owns the data base if you have a lead collecting function included
  • what is the package price
  • Which kind of training, if any, is offered as part of the package.
  • Will you be able to get educated about it upfront?

These are only a few critical questions you ought to ask yourself when looking at an offer you have found.

For me it is highly important to know who I am co-operating with, if the people are decent and honest. After all it is a lot of  work that goes into building a list for one and then it is highly  important to know how to deal with those people well so that you can make the most of your work,

image It is an open secret that in network marketing today the failure rate is above 90%. How can that be?

Most people who join a network marketing business join a network marketing opportunity as they are excited either about a product or about the chance of “owning their lives”. They sign up as they trust the person who presented the opportunity to them.

They start their work full of enthusiasm and follow the instructions they get from their sponsor, if they get any at all. Mostly it will be things like”make a list of friends and family and buy leads.

Let’s go for buying leads first – that is a treacherous way of doing anything as to be on the legal side you need to have leads who opted into YOUR offer. I someone reports you as spammer you need to be able to provide the opt in details and the opt-in IP.

Making a list of friends and family may work for some if they happen to have people around them who have a similar mindset and similar needs. It doesn’t work at all of they have their own different jobs or businesses which are totally unrelated to marketing.

Just imagine you want to have your house painted – would you  advertise for doctors to do so? Well, you may laugh but that’s just what it is if your friends and family are not at all interested in anything like network marketing it is hopeless to perhaps try and talk them into it. Just as un likely  as having a doctor paint your house.

Another big topic  will be the company you join itself.

  1. Which kind of a commission plan do they have?
  2. How many and which hoops to you have to jump through to qualify
  3. What are the policies and procedure like – are they only for the company and without consideration for you?
  4. Are their products fairly priced?

These are just 4 critical points you need to look at. Most people may require education to  be able to read a commission plan or the legal text of the contract so don’t feel bad if you are having a hard time going through this material. That is why mentoring for free is available online – an organisation of volunteers who set out to help.

You may find lots of training online on how to build a business  and there are many people who have quite good knowledge on how to work, like:

How to build relationships.well, give support to your team, help them on all levels, etc.

However, if you are an average person the best training in the world will not make you a real winner if the cards are stacked against you

and you have missed out on investigating if the company you have joined is the right background for achieving your dreams!

If Not Network Marketing – ‘What?

Network Marketing Today – when you  make the effort of learning this trade well is the solution for a life in freedom and abundance.

You hear it right – it is a trade that you have to learn and you have to learn it well. It requires a bunch of communication skills, but in today’s world also a bunch of internet skills.

AND – you are self employed in it, which is your benefit as much as it may be your curse.

To make the most of it you have to develop into the person you need to be: self loving, caring communicator who will listen at least twice as much as speak. It is the trusting relationship you create with people that will take you far.

In addition you have to provide your own working schedule and stick to it no matter what. There are many distractions in life at home that may take your time and since you are self employed you need to be careful that you are not carried away. Time is racing and the tasks you have missed out on are missed out on.

For me it is freedom to be able to work in the early mornings or at night so that I can make the most of being outside working in my garden which is my passion. However, it takes dedication to sit down at the pc for work after a long and tiring day out.

There is this cynical statement: “tomorrow I will do this or that” or “tomorrow I will start my diet” – that’s the kind of attitude that will get you nowhere. It will create nothing and you will not make a good role model for the people who are watching you.

Attention – people are watching you – your team will be watching you closely and unless you give them a good example what ever unproductive example you give them will spread in your group like wild fire.

This is what I mean when I say “curse”. 

The conclusion is: do your homework well, establish a lifestyle that you want to set up as a role model for your team and help them learn and grow and you will agree:

When you are building a business in network marketing today, your main focus needs to be your personal development.

You need to become the person people would want to be in business with.

This does not mean that you cannot be yourself? Certainly not– in fact you have to be yourself! But we all have strengths and weaknesses and we need to develop our strengths even further and we can learn to handle our weaknesses in the best possible way.

Dare to look at yourself and become the best you possibly can be.

Is this  provocation?

No!    You need to listen! image             

This is the first rule in network marketing today!

Our loud and media dominated world listening to another person  has been lost or nearly lost.

People are lonely even in a crowd – nobody is interested any more  to listen to the joys and sorrows of another person – they are far to busy rushing through life catching – what? Mostly they don’t even know what they are after. Everyday life is eating them up.

Make a difference. Look someone in the eye and listen to what they have to say – listen without adding anything in your thought or without interfering. Listen till they have finished. They might go a totally different trail in their expression than you would have expected.

Having been honoured in such a way they will automatically want to know about you.

This kind of heart to heart communication is the foundation for trust and friendship.

Listening without an agenda and then proceeding to the advantage of the one who has confided in you – again without an agenda will set you off as a leader of a special kind.

You will grow as a person and you will build friendships and  business partners who are friends and who will stick with you anyways.

Make it an extraordinary trip. It is worth it. Be the leader you are intended to be.

Happiness in Network Marketing – Hm

When we are building a business we are spending a lot of time on it.

Either we are still in a 9 – 5 job and build the business in our free time, which is a challenge in itself, as it takes excellent time management and dedication to do what is required, or we are doing it full time. Doing network marketing full time it is all the more important that you are happy with what you are doing.

Even without speaking a single work your basic attitude is transmitted to the people you speak to. They will pick up  your mindset. Happy people have something special around them and as a rule they attract people like magnets. Everyone wants to brush off such a mindset and feel a bit of that happiness.

  • Considering these basics it is not a big surprise that building a network marketing business today will be a lot easier when you are happy with what you are doing.
  • The law of attraction will kick in and  your team will be reflecting your mindset.

The Tale of the Fox and the Stork

A fox had asked a stork to be his guest. He provided lovely food, but only on very flat plates so that the stork with its long bill couldn’t eat a crumb. Greedily the fox ate all himself, but kept asking the stork to help himself with the delicious food.

The stork felt betrayed, but he stayed and praised the exceptional hospitality. The next day he asked his friend to come to dinner. The fox had a feeling that the stork would take a revenge and declined the invitation. However the stork kept asking him so eventually the fox agreed to come. 

When he arrived at the stork’s place he found all sorts of delicate food  All was served in long slim  crockery. “Help yourself as I do” said the stork, “feel entirely at home” and continued eating everything by  himself, whilst the fox was annoyingly condemned to just smell and lick the outside of the crockery.

Hungry he got up from the meal and admitted that the stork had given him an adequate revenge for his wantonness.

Fact is: Don’t do anything onto others which you don’t want to be done to yourself.

When you look round and see what is going on online and at the kind of offers you see it is not surprising to see the rate of failures of well intended people who want to build a successful business online.

This is not only restricted to the internet it happens in real life on a daily basis as well.

In the long run, if you want to achieve success in network marketing you need to go for the ethical thing, so that your work is not in vain and you will be able to retire on what you have built.

Select Your Company Wisely

“Select your company wisely” – I like the pun in this title.

We have spoken a lot about what to bear in mind when you choose the company you intend to work with. when you are intending to have success in a network marketing business today,  what to watch out for and what to avoid.

It is interesting that the same topics always apply to many areas of life.

Let me tell you the story of

The Donkey Who was Tested:

A man bought a donkey, however, he arranged for a trial period with the seller. He took the donkey and walked with it to his farm. When they arrived he let the donkey loose to see what the animal would do.

There were already several donkey running around in the farm yard and as soon as the new donkey was loose he trotted around and chose to join the fattest and laziest of the donkeys on the yard at its feeding place.

When the farmer saw this he immediately put the cord around the donkey’s neck again and walked it back to its owner. The owner was surprised and couldn’t understand how the farmer could have tested the donkey that quickly.

The farmer told him that he had seen enough: “Considering the  company he chose he must be quite a bad guy” he replied.

This story is quite significant also in the human realm. You will surely know that

  • people over time earn about the same as the average of their 5 closest buddies, or
  • we all try to keep our children away from the influence of bad company,
  • we try ourselves to stay away from totally negative people
  • we will feel pulled down by evil gossip

This states only a few points, but shows clearly that this story holds a lot of truth.

Especially when striving for success at building a network marketing business today the human factor is of major importance. You need the positive support of like minded people and lots of input for your personal growth like water and air.

What is your definition of freedom?

Give me your feedback!

Mine is to  be able to do:

  •    What I want to do,
  •    When I want to do it and
  •    Without monetary limits.

It may seem like having the focus on money only – certainly not! However so many worthy things in life can only be effected with adequate funds.

Look at health:

Yes I understand what you mean – good health cannot be bought by money. I agree -  not in the direct understanding. However, enough money does have a direct connection with health.

If you can buy excellent food, supplements, spa recreation, long holidays, etc. because you can afford it you are far more likely to maintain your good health for a very long time.

Being free of worry is another topic when it comes to good health.

  • Worry is inclined to make people sick over time.
  • Worry of not knowing how to pay your bills,
  • Worry of loosing your job,
  • Worry of being overworked to make it all happen,
    to list but a few.

Network marketing today is designed to give you a chance for freedom.

  • Does it happen on auto-pilot? NO.
  • Does it happen with just anything? NO.
  • Does it happen in total ignorance? NO.

To gain your freedom by building a network marketing business today you will have to get educated – not by the company you might have fallen love with, but in a generic manner so that you will learn all the MUSTs and NOs of the industry.

There is too much out that will not serve you. There are too many out who will only look after their own gain, whereas the basis for true success is:

You need to give before you take.

This is a paradigm which many find hard in today’s world where everything is supposed to “happen right now”.

Building a network marketing business is very much like cultivating plants:

You need to sew, then water the seeds so that they eventually will germinate and then you have to nourish the tender seedling so that they can grow and gain strength.

If you subject them to a hailstorm or to power hosing you’ll not like be in for a harvest. Let this be your directive when you are looking at how to build a long-term lasting network marketing business.

Look to find the right seeds and follow the process.

The results will be so rewarding that you will never be sorry you did what you did. Be prepared to meet up with some “bad weather “in the process and like you would cover up tender plants resort to connect with your mastermind team to get protection, support and encouragement.,

“The Secret” Success Story

As early as 1937 Napoleon Hill wrote his “Think and Grow Rich”. It contains everything you need for creating success in life and business.

The title link leads you to the Napoleon Hill Foundation.

This topic was laid down even before then and many times afterwards, the most famous right now being “The Secret” which has become a world wide best seller.

So why is it with all that evidence of knowledge laid down in writing that there are still so many struggling to achieve success?

To be able to accept information laid down in books you need to take a close look at yourself. Everyone has received a basic programming when growing up. Most of it happened without conscious application of knowledge but just as a matter of habit, culture and environment.

We consider our basic programming “normal” and very often look at others who received a different kind of programming as “not normal”. It very likely is this fact that makes it so hard to start a process of “re-programming” in order to eventually change our lives. The basis is that we finally reach the conclusion that the programming we received does not serve us, that is stops us from where we want to go.

It is in the industry of network marketing today that these facts show up drastically.

Anyone who had success in a normal job and is starting a network marketing business has a hard time accepting that the same amount of dedicated work as was done in the job gives no to low results in building a network marketing business.

Many simply “run” and conclude that this industry simple is nothing for them. However, this is not true. It is in MLM where the “Law of Attraction” comes in fully. You achieve that which is in tune with your mindset. If you are not money minded, for instance, money will elude you. There is this observation that it is those who win who already have a lot – of course – it is law of attraction: like meets like!

To achieve long-term success in network marketing today personal development is a MUST. In order to achieve more you have to become more.

Personal development may be a lot easier if you join a mastermind group of like minded people and follow the process.

In the one I love we study Think and Grow Rich on a weekly basis. If you decide to join in and do your scheduled contributions and exercises week after week you will be surprised how much you grow in a comparatively short time. It helps  you with re-programming your mind, getting rid of outdated thought patterns which no longer serve you and integrate thoughts which will attract success – in private life as well as in business.

Doing this on a regular basis together with the training you receive in mentoring for free you will be heading for outstanding success and even be able to leave a legacy for your family.

“I have no time” – this is what many prospects tend to say when it comes to deciding about doing a network marketing business today and doing it successfully.

“I have no time” is simply way of saying NO.

Time is elusive and most people actually while away a lot more time than they’d ever acknowledge.

Most people consider lack of time a major problem. Some don’t as they have discovered time management.

Today I’d like to have you take a look at how much time we actually have.

Every single person has exactly 168 hours a week.

Let’s break it down:

  • 8 hours of sleep per day              56
  • 8 hours of work 5 days per w.       40
  • 3 hours of commuting 5 d./w.       15
  • 1 hour of grooming   p.d.               7
  • Family life, house-care, food        30
  • Favourite sport     p.w.                 5

                                Totals to         153 hours a week

That leaves you 15 hours a week to do your  home based business

(and between you and me – do you really need 8 hours of sleep every night??)

I am aware that different people have different parameters, but in general everyone ca set up such a time table.

You will see one thing – I have allowed no  space for watching TV or reading the news paper. However if you really want to do something to improve your quality of time in the long run you need to be aware that you cannot get something for nothing. Doing some sport will empower you whereas watching TV will drag you down. You need support to do this – be in touch we’ll help you!

There is this big contrast between some people who seem to be having massive success in network marketing today and the others who keep struggling in spite of lots of effort.

The difference between them is attitude!

Just recently I made a YouTube on attitude where I sum up about it – you might want to check it out.

Attitude is a personal quality which  to a large extent is programmed by our environment from early childhood onwards. However, once we grow up we have it in our hands to replace those parts of our basic programming which we find do not serve our purpose in life.

Attitude can be “re-programmed” too. It is a process you cannot do it by pressing a button, but once you are alerted to the need of it and you actually want it you can do it.

The first step will be to spot the bits you want to change. Are you perhaps one of those people who in a conversation with others find it easy to agree on the surface by saying “yes, BUT”? I give you an example. I show you a way how to create leads in network marketing today. You listen carefully and then you reply: Yes, I perfectly understand where you are coming from, but don’t you think I could do it that and that way? Hm – as a matter if fact you have only humored me,  however, you  have said NO between the lines.

This kind of attitude is not very obvious and most people will consider it charming behaviour and  interaction, yet it is limiting. It limits your willingness of being coachable. Does this serve you? Certainly not!

Once you are alerted to the topic you will start noticing it when you are interacting. At first perhaps a little annoyed, then over time you will grin and know you have “caught yourself” once again in the old pattern. You will start noticing the same behaviour in many others and eventually you will stop it.

Wow – you have grown! Spot the next handicap in your programming and start working on it.

You may say this is hard – yes, may be it is, but it is very well worth your time.

If you are willing to accept support in this venture find yourself a mastermind group of like-minded people.Your progress will be a lot faster and it will be more fun to share and learn, as you won’t feel alone in the desert with a task which is a challenge.

The best thing, if you are stepping into this process because you want to have success at network marketing, would be to join a mastermind group of network marketers – that will cover two topics in one stroke. You will grow and you can improve other skills at the same time, no matter in which business you are.

“Insane Productivity”

It appears to be insane to use this expression for extremely high productivity – a real joke!

It is obvious that  to achieve high success in network marketing today you are looking out for strategies that let you explode your productivity.

You will say at once that it is leverage that creates this productivity in a network marketing business. This is true, but you need to get there in the first place.

Leverage is the result of effort accumulated over time. A new network marketing business doesn’t start with success on day one, nor does any other business in fact. You need to do all the diligent homework you do in any other business and then  get it going through persistence, personal development and nurturing team work.

In this process there are a number of things which may help you on the way:

  • Be peaceful within. High productivity needs work, no doubt, but you also need peace of mind and a relaxed approach. Love what you are doing and be focused. When you love what you are doing you will be able to see things in a positive light so that everything will flow freely.
  • Take action. There is no productivity without action! It is not enough to plan to climb the Mt.Everest – you need to go there and actually do it!.
  • Get organized. You need to have a clean workplace. Don’t push  things off and work without delays. There are some people who have the strange idea that anyone who is tidy is only too lazy to put in a good search – I think investing that search time into work will get you a lot further.
  • Be proactive. Let your creativity kick in – it may even help you to get things done a lot quicker than anticipated.
  • Do what you love or love what you do. In any work schedule there will be things you really like and others which you don’t really like that much – do them with a good mood nevertheless it will minimize procrastination. With practice you may get over this dislike.  Let work be your passion and it will be easy.
  • Communicate with nature. We are part of nature and cannot be detached from it. Food, water air and all around us are part of nature. Blending with nature will set your mind at rest and the better you manage it on all levels the healthier you are likely to be – this again increases your  productivity. Your success in your network marketing business will  benefit greatly – especially if your products are in tune with a natural aspect – like healthy food, or whatever.

Implementing these thoughts into your life-style and business building activities you will be an excellent role model for your network marketing team and you will attract awesome people as business partners.

The result will be incredible leverage and a rate of success in your network marketing business you can now only dream of

Linear Versus Recurring Income

Do you actually know the definition of a recurring income?

A linear income  resembles bills which you pay once and they are done. Buy a dress, buy a meal, see a movie, things you do once at a time – they are linear expenses.

There are also recurring expenses:                 your utilities bills, your telephone bill, various insurances -                                                       amounts you keep paying again and again on a monthly basis.

In  most professions – teachers, doctors, lawyers, or in fact any other – you are exchanging time for money.  You teach, treat a person, set up a contract. When you stop working, your income stops – you have a "linear income".

  • However, if you write a book (preferably a best seller) or make a CD which will sell well or you purchase stocks to save up for your retirement your income structure is different. For each book or CD that is being sold you earn a certain amount money – month after month and year after year.
  • For a good investment you will receive dividends in much the same manner. This is a so-called "recurring" income:  you receive it for something you have done once and it goes on and on.

When you create a recurring income you can actually live the life style of the rich without having to become a millionaire first.

If you apply what you learn from Mentoring For Free in your network marketing business today you will get there.
In life, you will only ever get paid for what you DO and not for what your KNOW, but of course you have to learn: "what" to do and and "how" to do it right, before you will be paid for doing it successfully.

Would you prefer to have heart surgery done by a surgeon or by a student? No? Well why should it be different when it comes to success in network marketing?

  • A recurring income solution for a teacher might be receiving a small percentage of each student’s income after they leave school and start working, and for as long as the student works.

Crunch the numbers to see how much you would have to have to save up to be able to have a recurring income of 10 000 Dollars from interests on your account. Right now this is an interesting question  – a life time of savings would not be enough!

When you start a network marketing business you will soon be having some extra income.  As your team grows also the checks will grow. If you are wise and use that extra money to pay off your debts first, you will be debt free by the time your recurring income reaches 10 000 Dollars a month and that will already do nicely for a good life style.
It is an excellent way to create wealth – you likely do not know many people who will be able to achieve that kind of income from their interests.

Provided you are coachable and you really want to KNOW you can build that kind of income in network marketing in 2 – 10 years.

There is one other aspect which is vital to your success in building a network marketing business – it is Your WHY!

You Why in a way is like the address in a GPS in the car. Start it without an address input and it will give you a failure or not perform – the same happens:

if we don’t create a Why for our life. This creates a situation where we are like floating matter in a river – we drift along where ever life takes us – no steering, no focus!

Let Go of Insecurity!

Insecurity in a way is the reverse side of self-confidence.

There are various ways to cover up insecurity. Some people are particularly aggressive, others are very messy and will tell you that “people who are tidy are too lazy to search for what they need” and many other showy things.

If you are the messy type who has chaos on the desk, the shelves and else where, a couple of very effective tip would be to:

  • Decide to tidy up. Do a thorough clear up of all the mess around and put everything into place. You will immediately feel like having become a different person.
  • Working through accumulated backlog of any kind, getting up-to-date with matters which you kept pushing on day after day or even years will create wonders in your perception of self.

Having accomplished two big tasks are two very tangible things. They make success at what you were doing visible and give you a new start.

Never forget that in network marketing today you are the role model for your business partners.

You may say – nobody can see your mess at home when you are working on the net. In a way you are right, however, the change it will create in YOU that having cleared a couple of things that kept weighing you down will be pronounced!

The attraction you are radiating will change drastically and consecutive success at building your business will manifest it.

So follow the Asian concept 

– Inside Like Outside –

get your Outside cleared and your Inside will automatically follow suit!

How To Build Self-confidence Part 1

Build Confidence in Yourself

This inner knowledge that you can do it, that you will achieve and that you are capable as you are.

We all have it when we are born – however the imprint we receive from our environment makes it disappear. It is not lost, but it is buried so to speak.

As long as you are leading an average life you are not conscious of this loss as a rule. You have adapted over time, except for the small percentage of revolutionaries who do not conform and who haven’t lost this inner knowledge of who they are.

As soon as you change your environment and start into independence professionally, this lack becomes obvious quickly. You wonder what is going on and why you do not perform and achieve as you have laid it out. Especially in network marketing today, where success is closely entwined with people and building relationships, it becomes quickly apparent that you are blocked for some intangible reason.

The balance is found in uncovering your inherent self-confidence. Uncovering the person who you really are. The person who attracts easily those  people who will be the right ones to achieve success through team work and mutual support.

Here are a couple of hints that may help you in this quest of finding yourself:

  • Educate yourself on personal development. Knowing what it is all about will help you immediately. Mind you it will take practice, but the topic will gain shape in your mind.
  • Activate your mind and body link. There is this old saying that a healthy minds lives easier in a healthy body -  one factor of it is  your posture. Keep yourself upright, straight! You will notice that your mind will appreciate it and you will feel a lot better.

There are many more factors which come into play. In part 2 I’ll give you some hints that might help you in your business environment on a more practical level.

In Network Marketing Today it is an open secret that to achieve more you have to become more.

Of course every single person who is building a network marketing business has an idea about which kind of business partners they really want: They sure want the persistent and clever person who is making contacts easy and who will get many partners and customers in very quickly.

So if we know what we want, why does it mostly take time to actually achieve it?

We all keep talking about the law of attraction, of personal development, of learning the right skills, etc

However there is one key question you will have to ask yourself in this context:

  • Yes, this is correct and the question is not easy to deal with. You need to take a hard look at yourself, not through any soft-focus lense,  but straight and true. Look yourself in the mirror and look into your eyes and ask yourself that question: Would I like to be in business with myself.
  • Consider it point for point – why should people want to be in business with you? Make note of your strengths and weaknesses – not so much professionally, but as the person who you are. It it tough? Yes, may be it is, but it is a very good way to assess what is happening around you.
  • After you have found out who you are and  who you want to be, start working on yourself. It is a personal decision you need to take and it will be very much worth while. As a result the world around you will change.

It is a fact in the industry of network marketing, that people do not join your opportunity – people join you! They join you because they want to be around you, they join you because you are a role model for them, they join you because they like and perhaps admire you and many for other reasons.

This reflects, why building relationships is the basis for success in network marketing today. Of course we make the best of efforts and get informed as to which business we want to build, but who knows even having done the best of diligence a company may go bust for which ever reasons.

Provided you have built your team according to optimal criteria of human interaction: love and mutual understanding and trust, you will have built it for good. Your  team members, who actually joined YOU will happily brainstorm with you where to go next should such an adversity happen.

Building yourself, building the best relationships you can with the people who you really relate with, is the best long-term security you can have for yourself and your team.

Choose a Company for Life and Beyond

In Network Marketing Today when worked online lots of people are side tracked by offers of quick cash – but

Quick Cash = Quick Crash

no more no less. Well perhaps at times even less as many of these offers are invalid.

Such an offer may side-track people to such an extent that they even loose sight of their dream. As a normal person with the heart in the right place you likely can’t sleep when you know very well that you  have stolen someone’s dream. So you won’t do it. But there are those who do not have this kind of awareness.

Unlike a job, which in a way is quick cash  too, as you exchange your time for money, network marketing is a business. It is a business that can pay you and your children and children’s children for the rest of their lives, –provided you choose the right company – a "5 Pillars" company. There is more on 5 pillars on my blog and of course even more in the Free Training we offer.

Too many people think they need to "build it fast". It in a way seems to be a handicap of societies today that all needs to be fast, fast, fast!

The other day I talked with a guy – he is in a binary and told me that he was placed in a spot where he has already 700 people down one leg. Well, excellent, but he was “not yet” making any money!

“Newbies” as a rule don’t understand that they are not being paid on the strong leg in a binary plan! A binary plan pays on the week leg and that is the one he will have to build himself!

Unfortunately people are blinded by that hype with the strong leg and they sign up and  as a rule it takes them a while or even longer to understand how such a plan works and how much of their effort goes down the drain!

Don’t fall for scams. Make sure you choose well and build long-term!
That is the way to achieve success in
network marketing today.

What are contracts in Network Marketing Today? 

The contracts are 

the Policies and Procedures!

Talking to network marketers of today you will quickly learn that only few people  ever read their policies and procedures- what a plight! This is a huge handicap for success!

Have you ever heard that somebody who invests into any kind of business will not read their contract carefully or even have it checked by a lawyer who specializes in business contracts? Not really. The reason for it is that the investments to be made are far too high to take any risk.

There is not so much difference between conventional business and network marketing today.

  • In conventional business you invest lots of money and then pay back for years until you reach the break even point when you finally start  making money that actually belongs to you.
  • In network marketing you are investing your time till you finally reach the point where you earn good money as you have finally reached success.

In either case the risk is the same, if you have not made sure you are in a good contract. In conventional business you might be out of business long before you reach the break even point and in network marketing you might wake up with a big bump when you finally realise that your efforts only benefitted the company you are with as they can terminate you any time as they desire to in accordance with the policies and procedures which you have never read.

You never even realised that they contained clauses like “ongoing support for your downline” or “termination at the sole discretion of the company” or “contract renewal  at the sole discretion of the company” and many more. It might even be so bad that your check stops without forewarning for any of the stated reasons or many others in fact and you only realise then the mistake you made.

Do you  start “seeing” the importance of reading your contract? Find it now and read it to at least minimize damage! If you need help say so!

Law of Attraction is not a Magic Wand from a Fairy Tale, it’s in a way Universal Physics

When you consider a “magic wand” of  performing magicians it can , however, be likened to the law of attraction.

To perform a magic show you need to  be the master of your “tricks” – know exactly what you do when and that you need to do it just right to keep you audience in awe.

And of course we all wish it was simple but making the law of attraction work for you is just as tricky. Physics work, so do universal physics, but we have to figure out to make it work for us so that we actually get what we want and where we want.

The question is not if you  believe in the law of attraction or not. If you do what is required  the law of attraction works anyways, very much like you can drive a card yet don’t know how to make it if you get it as a load of all the single parts of it. So let’s look at some basics.

  • Start your day with positive thoughts,
    instead of thinking about having to get up once again so early  and all the stress of the new day which is waiting for you. Starting your day on negative thoughts is setting you up for failure. You are switching on the “magnetism of negative experience”. Make the effort of starting your day on positive thoughts.
  • Visualize already at the end of the day  what your next day will be and how much you will get done and achieved. Such a positive picture will let you rest a lot better and it will provide the grounds for relaxed waking up as you have it all in place ahead of time.
  • A good way not to get hooked on negative thoughts is to not  think at all or to think of minor, trivial things – nice ones, like the good joke you heard a couple of days back or whatever.
  • Then stretch, take a deep breath and think of something you like, something that gives you joy or positive expectancy – may be an outing you have in mind, a person you love, your pet, there are so many options and everyone will choose different.
  • Keep you mind away from negative thoughts. The best way to do it is to keep the mind occupied with what you are doing. This has a dual benefit – first you don’t fall into negative thoughts and second when you focus on what you  are doing your performance will be excellent and you have another positive input as a result.

I guess this sounds easy – it is, but it needs practice, it needs applying the Slight Edge Strategy:

All easy things can be done easily, but they can also easily not be done.

So don’t worry about more complicated approaches you might run across – do the simple thing but do it.

When you apply this slight edge strategy also to your success in network marketing today you will find, that there are many simple things which need to be done to get you successful and every single one can be done easily, but can also easily not be done. And for the sheer fact that it is all so easy, the long-term importance tends not to be seen and considered in the right way.
